Chapter 9 : New teacher (2)

Everyone was at the ground waiting for Krishna to start teaching but Krishna himself was unaware of where to start. He was sympathising with his teachers back in the day that used to bore him.

"What are we going to do?" Said Rishi.

Krishna looked at their side a little confused about what he should do and said, "Why don't you come at me all at once so I can see what you can do."

Anirudh frowned and said: "where is the challenge in that?"

Krishna nodded in agreement, so he went back into the college building and came back with a chair. He kept it in the middle of the ground and sat on it with his legs crossed.

"Ok this seems fair now. your job is to destroy this chair and if you do that, you win."

"I have seen all kinds of crazy but this is a new one." said Anirudh slightly looking at Jia.

"What was his rank anyway."

"It's F," said Anika trying to hide her smile. She knew what that it wasn't true in the slightest as she had experienced his power first-hand.

2 hours later...

everyone was down on their feet and nobody had even touched the chair let alone destroy it. they were exhausted and had All their auras were drained up. the whole ground was in shambles with craters, burned regions and wet puddles.

Krishna picked up the chair and started walking away.

"well, that's it for today. I hope you all look back at this and learn something." said Krishna as he thought to himself 'I could not think of anything to teach them in the end, maybe next time.'

He then remembered about Reema as she was trying her hardest to attack without her aura so he turned back and shouted, "Reema you meet me in my office, I have something for you."

"what kind of an F rank is he." Said Anirudh as he got up.

Rajdeep shook his head and said. "dumbass he is obviously not an F rank it should be clear by now, he is most likely an A rank."

"I...I knew that, I was just being Sarcastic."

"half the time I could not even see him let alone attack." said Jia

"Well at least I got to know he isn't your daily crop of teachers." Said Rishi as he stood up removing some mud from his shirt.

"Yeah, he obviously has no..." and Anika was interrupted by Rishi who said. "He sure is the top class teacher that RUA has a reputation for, He was telling us to understand the fighting styles of our friends and learn from them as well as compliment them, this was clearly a team battle he made it clear in his first sentence and we were so foolish to miss that point, our attacks were so soloed out it was child's play for him"

everyone nodded in agreement as Anika thought 'These sure are a bunch of idiots.'

_____

"you know about that special class teacher he looks so good."

"have you seen him fight though, everyday he takes the hero's to the ground and decimates them, my class is near the windows so I see it everyday."

"yeah because of him the ground is ruined and we have nowhere to play."

"they are making a new fortified building for him in place of the old unused medical college building."

"Did you know he takes one of the girls to his office everyday."

"that seems scandalous to me."

"my friend once even heard of some weird sounds coming from there."

"he should be reported on it, I heard he was that coward son of the founders who spent 7 years being high and drunk in some dump."

"I mean they are of, you know that age. so, maybe it is consensual. though I don't know about it being ethical."

"I can understand people liking each other but man that guy needs to understand boundaries."

All these rumours were irritating as well as making Anika curious of what was going on. she tried asking Reema but she would not tell her and Krishna would tell her that it was teacher student confidentiality, if it was ever a thing.

She finally decided to find things out all by herself so there she was standing in front of Krishna's office. being a teacher of special class sure had its own perks and one of them being a private office. she could not muster up the energy to enter the office. if the rumours were false, she would not know how to respond nor did she know what to do if they were true.

"Ah!" came a voice from the office soft but loud enough for her to hear in front of the office. 'were the rumours true?' she thought as she felt a tap on her shoulder that raised every hair in her body and she fire punched that person in the face without looking. it was Jia, he face was badly singed but it healed almost immediately.

"lucky you it was me, I don't mind if you wanna practice but give me heads up next time will you."

"Aaaaaahhhhh!" Came a louder sound and Anika looked back at the door with anger.

Jia grabbed her by the waist and said "Do you think he is holding her like this?" she went closer to her ears and said softly, "You seem to take a lot of interest here, do you want to join them?"

Anika shook of Jia's hand, "stay away from me you filthy woman, it's most likely a misunderstanding."

"Aaaaaaaahhh!"

"Do you want me to stop?"

"No don't stop, I can take it."

"Looks like he is a wild one, I can go for a personal educational lecture too." Said Jia as she tried to go for Anika's waist again only to be pushed away.

Anika was now at her limit and she kicked the door open like some officer raiding the place of a suspect. She saw Reema nearly topless with Krishna's hands back there. Krishna's face was turning red and that of visible shock. Anika then closed the door and ran away

_____

Anika was buried in her pillows and thinking about what she saw. Krishna opened the door and saw her face down, "I am not sure how to explain this but what you saw wasn't exactly what happened."

"Why should I trust you?"

"I am not asking you to do so, you can ask your friend."

Anika was getting angry and ashamed both at the same time. She did not have any boy in her life that had made her feel that way, she was always focused on training herself. Being with Ganesh most of her life had made her even more oblivious to female charms. 'But why did it matter to her so much that it was him,' she thought. Something too obvious that she could not put her finger on it or just wasn't ready to accept it yet.

_____

Rusjeet singh was walking down the hallway full of students to join as a new weapons teacher for the new Special class. He had been busy after there was a report from lakshadweep islands that a S1 rank demon came in from the type 2 anomaly gate. It was not entirely unheard of in a type 2 gate to contain higher ranked demons. Type 1 were those that opened up spontaneously and generally had lower ranked demons. Any demon above S was certainly a cause for concern but what bothered him more was a certain hypothesis.

He was kept in the backup squad to avoid anything close to what happened in andaman and nicobar islands. Those islands were still out of the bars for human entry as they were still ridden with demons. India had faced a lot of international backlash for being unable to take care of the problem there so they obviously wanted to avoid this happening in lakshadweep islands.Luckily though the lions guild had sent one of their best. butterfly took care of that demon with ease. It was still one hell of a stressful time for him But finally he was to resume his mission and had joined back the college.

Krishna was particularly happy as he did not have to teach the class any-more and leave it on the professionals.

"Kids from today onwards Mr. Rusjeet singh will be teaching you."

"no actually our classes will be divided from tomorrow."

"we will see about that." Said Krishna with a smile.

Rusjeet singh cleared his voice and proceeded.

"As most of you know that fighting with demons is not some friendly thing so using weapons made from demons is all the more preferred to get an advantage. with the best grade weapon even a D rank can stand tall against an enemy 10 times more powerful. I will be teaching you and guiding you to the best of my abilities to get the most suitable weapons for yourself."

RUA had a decent collection of weapons but they were nothing special. modern technology was not the most effective weapon against a demon. The weapons of other demons were what the heroes used in the past. these weapons when infused with aura had increased attack and durability which was not applicable on any material of the human world for the most part.

It was also a well known fact that demons retained a certain amount of aura post death which would eventually dissipate but they also contained demon crystals in them at their core which was infused with weapons to enhance them and give properties that matched the demon's power. so a dead body of a demon was a very sought after commodity. Certain power crystals in them were also used for powering modern day cities.

"You guys know the drill, try choosing a weapon and practice with it a little to know if you are compatible with that type." Said Rusjeet before they entered the store room for weapons.

Rajdeep went for a melee glove that accentuated one's strength. Rishi chose a spear and anirudh went for boot claws. Jia chose a bow and throwing knives. Reema took a Katana as she had some practice of it in the past. Anika looked around but she wasn't sure what she should pick up and so she went for a dagger to give it a try.

Rusjeet singh came up to the confused Anika and said, "You should go for a sword in my opinion, your physical strength can handle that. A dagger is not exactly the type for a head on battle which you prefer."

"Yeah I guess but I still feel like dagger can be a good choice."

"Then go for both of them, who said you need to confine yourself with one weapon only."

Rusjeet singh then went to the center of the room and said, "let us get some practice now, remember try incorporating your powers with them. It is also said that a weapon still contains the personality of a demon so try to control the weapon and let is not control you."

______

After the class was over Reema had stopped Anika to explain to herself so they decided to go to their usual hangout spot. While she was waiting out there for Reema a beautiful woman who was obviously taller than her and kept a long pony came and sat in front of her. When she removed her sunglasses Anika realised who she was. It was Butterfly who was a big inspiration for her as an accomplished woman and so was she to many. Her actual name was not in public domain, it was a fairly common practice for higher ranked Raiders and Heroes. This prevented unwanted attention on them and their families, fame comes with enemies too.

"I am your biggest fan." said Anika with surprise as she never expected someone like butterfly would visit her.

"I know and so do they, That is why I am here." Said Butterfly as she kept the sunglasses aside and adjusted her fringes, "I am going to be straight with you because I know you too won't like to beat around the bush, we want you to join lions guild."

"But I haven't even completed my training." Said Anika waving her hands in confusion

"I doesn't matter. We don't know why yet but you have been turning a lot of heads in association and if the association is interested then so are we."

"What do I get from joining now?"

"For starters when you have will internships where you won't have to worry too much as we will look after your training and everyone fights in the waves but you will have the support of lions which in itself is a great deal."

Anika was impressed she had a great deal on the table but surely nothing comes for free, "And what do you get in return?"

"Nothing actually, this won't be some kind of contract you are free to leave any time but we just expect you would like to fight with people you have developed a bond with in the future. Even if you decided against it we believe in keeping a good relationship with someone like you."

Anika was thrown back a bit as suddenly someone like butterfly had given her a deal that seemed lucrative but it was a big decision, "I will need time to think about it."

"Don't worry, take your time, this deal will always be on the table." Butterfly put on her glasses, "I should leave before anyone else recognises me and I believe you are waiting for someone too."

After butterfly left Reema arrived only a few minutes later and she had to give on the thought she was having about joining the guild as a new pressing matter was in her front. They ordered their usuals. Reema took a sip of her drink and said, "I am sorry I was a bit embarrassed to tell you because the way the process worked. I am sure Krishna must have told you it was a big misunderstanding."

"Yeah he did mention it was a misunderstanding but I did not trust him, the noises were what triggered me. I guess Krishna was right."

"It turns out to be a painful process to get you foundation fixed, he said he will make some changes to it but it can't be as good as remodeling an unstable foundation and that is why the process was extremely painful and took multiple sessions."

"But he could have told me, you know." Said Anika frowning.

Reema sighed and took a sip of her favourite plain cold coffee, "Why should he have told you? it's not like you are his girl or something."

Anika with her face down and blushy cheeks said, "Yeah but you know right…"

"I do but he does not. You can't impose the rules without ever telling what you feel like. Confessing is probably the first step of any relationship." she pauses for sec "but are you sure about your feelings? You know, you not trusting him doesn't really convey a good message."

_______

Anika thought about her feelings all the way through home. She felt bad for not trusting Krishna away at that time but given her stubborn nature she never could apologize. Reema's words had made her feel guilty enough to realize her mistake. She had made up her mind to confess those feelings she chosen not to address out of fear of rejection. Krishna always seemed like that distant guy to her, who wanted to be on his own. It was Ganesh that would drag him around to do things.

She reached home and searched for Krishna but could not find him. She was pacing around the whole house rechecking every place 'Has he left? He did get a good job and probably has enough money to rent a decent home by himself. I can confess tomorrow. But what if I chicken out of it by tomorrow. He had not mentioned anything about moving. Is he leaving because of me.'

"What happened dear?" said Ganesh holding some big bags of groceries.

"Did he leave father?" said Anika in teary eyes as she crashed into the sofa

Ganesh kept the bags aside and patted Anika's head "who left dear?"

"Krishna." said Anika hugging Ganesh.

"Heh, you think I would have picked those things up on my own till home. What good are his young muscles." Said Ganesh stroking her hair. "He is on terrace, why do you go talk to him while empty these bags in the kitchen and then we can have your favourite food, ok?"

Anika shook her head and left. Ganesh was happily sitting on the sofa thinking 'it's the first time she called me father'

Anika wiped away the stray tears as she got closer to the terrace. Krishna was sitting at the same bar. it brought back her memory of holding him there. she slowly walked to the railing and collected her thoughts there. it wasn't going to be as spontaneous as she had planned.

"I am sorry." said Krishna sensing it was Anika at his back. that immediately threw her off as she was expecting a different mood.

"What are you sorry for?"

"I strayed away for a moment. I was broken when I came back, I wanted to be alone. For some reason I saw something in you that reminded me of a past that I longed for. I helped you for my own reasons and then gave a cold shoulder but you and Ganesh gave me memories I didn't know I needed. Then when I saw you hurt I realised that I am only creating problems. I think I should leave you guys alone."

Krishna got up and turned back. Anika was standing there on the bar this time not a single wobble or even an ounce of fear. she crashed into Krishna's arms and said "I, I, I, how selfish can you be." Anika had no more control over the stray tears that took over her face with gentle sobs. "why do you have to be like this. always thinking about yourself when helping others. You saved my life and now you are thinking of taking it away, how cruel can you be?"

Krishna stood there as he felt a chain loosening on him and embraced Anika in his arms, he could not say anything back to her as he was not yet sure of his feelings but he hoped that someday he might figure it out.
