Auction House

Feng Hei Lang found herself in a large hall with many rows of seats. Kirei murmured, "That's the official auction. The prices can go very high, so we'll avoid that place. We'll just look at the side stands around the auction."

She nodded. "Do you know the auction house well?"

"Well, my family has brought me here a few times before."

Kang Lei nudged him. "What are you, super rich?"

She let out a breath. "Anyways, lead us to the stands, we need to snatch some items before we run out."

Kirei led them through crowds of foxes and through a well-lit hallway. It branched off into other areas, each having mini, quick auctions for different items. He pointed down the right. "That side would lead to items for combat. Like weapons, armor, and whatever. The left is for talismans. And finally, straight ahead is for items that can't be traded for tallies. They normally trade for something different, but it depends on the seller."

Kang Lei nodded and turned to the right. "I'm going to look for weapons. See you later, Feng Hei Lang!"

She nodded and saw Kirei head down the left. He turned back. "I recommend checking out stealth talismans, but if you want more combat-related things, you should go follow Kang Lei. I'll see you around."

Feng Hei Lang watched both of them disappear from her sights. 'Checking out stealth talismans does sound like a good thing, but isn't some of my skills basically the same thing?' She pulled up her stat window.

She frowned. 'Stealth talismans would most likely be very similar to [Camouflage] and [Presence Concealment]. I probably won't need those. As for those extra stat points...I'll use them when I need a sudden boost of speed or strength.' Feng Hei Lang closed her window and opened her inventory.

[Inventory]

[5x Healing Potion, 1x Common Beast Core, 1x Epic Beast Core, 1x Disguise Cloak, 1x Gladiator Snake Dual Daggers]

'I probably won't be needing any weapons with my gladiator snake dual daggers. And healing is covered with my healing potions. Then, I suppose I could just browse the area ahead of me...'

Feng Hei Lang headed straight, away from both ways that Kang Lei and Kirei went. She pushed through a curtain and saw multiples tables, and different foxes yelling out what items they had. A fox glided over to her. "Hey miss, you seem like you would love a necklace for warding out evil."

She ignored them and looked past a few tables. Another fox moved towards her. "Would you like a try of our delicious roasted pork?"

Feng Hei Lang shook her head. "No thank you." There were foxes running around, advertising their products, left and right. She mostly ignored all the foxes that were trying to talk to her and instead looked at the tables. It was mostly a mix of everything. Talismans, weapons, armors, jewelry, and even food.

A voice caught her attention. "The young fox with the fox mask. I can tell that you're not from this world."

Feng Hei Lang whirled around to see a old, blind fox. She was walking with a cane and coming from within a small canopy. "Yes, the young lady. I'm talking to you."

She frowned, skeptically. 'There's no way anyone can tell right?'

Feng Hei Lang quickly used [Appraisal] on the old fox.

[Mei Liang]

Species: ???

Beast Level: ???

Special Ability: ???

She furrowed her brows. 'That's strange. [Appraisal] should practically allow me to see that without any trouble.' Feng Hei Lang turned back to the old fox. "Who are you?"

Mei Liang had a smile on her face. "You can call me, Mei Liang. And I'm the one who sees everything. If you will, follow me into my canopy, young fox."

Feng Hei Lang weighed the consequences before following her. 'If she's a scammer, I can simply leave. I won't be giving her or paying her anything.'

She pulled back the entrance of the canopy and saw a beautiful lit-up place. It seemed as if she had entered the galaxy. Mei Liang sat onto the floor and pulled out two cups before filling them up with tea. "A drink?"

Feng Hei Lang used [Appraisal] to make sure it wasn't poisoned before downing it. It was very fragrant with a hint of sweetness.

She finished and placed it down. "Why did you call for me?"

Mei Liang smiled. "I see your past, and future, young fox. You're from a different world, aren't you? A world much different from this one. Ah, yes...I see singing and a beautiful dress...A singer were you?"

Feng Hei Lang stood up abruptly. She was on alert now. "Where does that assumption co e from?"

Mei Liang widened her smile. "I see everything, youngster. I'm not here to pry into your business. I'm simply here to deliver you something." She placed a small, round mirror into Feng Hei Lang's palm. "May Emo Hei An bless you."

A bright flash of light appeared and the old fox disappeared, along with the stars in her tent.
