Not knowing the dangers, Eru happily spent his time with Rebus. These days his master was too busy to even guide him with his training, so Rebus had taken up that position. But even he was not of that much help.
A small grape hit his head again.
"Hey, stop tossing grapes at me," Eru glared back at him.
"I thought we will have a romantic time together, but you boringly reading a book," Rebus pouted.
"Did you see her crazy eyes? I have to learn some life saving skills or I might become a roasted fish," Eru shuddered. "Stop bothering me and try to help at least,"
Rebus pouted further. "Fine," he sat next to him on his bed and peered at the little black book. It was the one with Nyx's handwriting. Just looking at it made his heart ache, but he controlled his expression and read through every spell one by one. "All of these use heavenly energy. Will you even be able to use these?" he frowned.
"Huh, you mean soul energy, right?" Eru let out his white cloud like energy an inch from his body. "Master told me to shape it into a weapon but it doesn't seem to ebb working that well," he collected it in his fist, but as it formed into a shape it started dissipating, "see, it's so sad,"
Rebus watched him with his eyes wide. "You.... you can use her powers? But how? your soul is just a fragment, it should be impossible to," he whispered in shock.
"Fragment?!" Eru glanced at him with a startled expression, 'wait how did he know that my soul was in fragments?' he glanced at him doubtfully.
Rebus looked at him carefully. "Summon your heavenly energy again,"
Without any resistance, Eru created a small shield around him with the powers.
Rebus carefully looked around. "Its.....I never expected this!.... Eru you have two soul fragments inside you. When I came here, I was told only one was here in this realm, not two. How did it become two?" he thoughtfully peered at him.
Being watched so carefully, Eru shrunk back. 'The hell, he saw through me. But it's not possible for him to find out about my real identity.' Sighing, he whispered, "I don't understand you anymore,"
"No, you have two parts of Nyx's soul," Eru peered at him with his eyebrows raised. Fine, let me explain to my maximum ability. But don't expect much, the heavenly restriction stops me from telling you everything but I will tell you what you need to know,"
"Nyx, she was a goddess. As a god, there is no definite death for them. When she was killed, her soul shattered into seven parts. Two human and five god soul shards. I sensed one human soul shard in this realm, so I came here. But now I could sense two human souls of Nyx inside you"
"Are you perhaps mistaken? Maybe that human soul can be someone else's," Eru blinked.
"Nope, I can sense Nyx anywhere she goes. How will I mistake it? There are definitely two of Nyx's human souls inside of you. That's why you were able to harness heavenly energy. Or else a normal mortal can't,"
'This situation eerily seems similar to mine. All of this is suspicious. Nyx had two human souls. Now Rebus could sense both I'm Eru. That only means that he thinks I am Nyx's soul shard as well.' sighing Eru rubbed his aching head. "Then how can you explain Deric. He can use this mysterious energy as well. Is he a god as well then?" he raised his eyebrow.
"What!!! What did you mean!!" Rebus shot up. "Eru, are you serious?"
"Yeah, sit down first," Eru pulled him but Rebus stiffly glanced at him. "What is wrong now Rebus? come on sit down. My neck is aching,"
Rebus gritted his teeth and gripped his hand tightly. "Then he.... he is a god as well."
"Really," Eru whispered sarcastically.
"Hey you have to believe me. He is a god, he probably came to this world for your soul as well," Rebus shouted anxiously.
"Oh, why is that so? Is he my past lover as well?" Eru leaned casually against the bed.
"No! I'm your only lover. He might be her for other reasons,"
"What other reasons are there?" Eru waited for him to answer, but as Rebus opened his mouth only air escaped. "What's wrong? Why are you acting weird?" he gently caressed his mouth.
Rebus sighed loudly. "Someone placed a restricting on me again. I can't talk about this. Eru, you have to believe me. He is not a good person. Don't trust him,"
"But you said he is a god. Aren't gods good?"
"No! None of them are." Suddenly he coughed out loud and blood dripped down his lips.
"Rebus!"
"It's nothing. It's just for talking shit about them," he smirked sarcastically.
