chapter 3

The alarm went off in the hospital, screams were breaking out from everywhere, Ari runs to Thea and Lens room. The two girls were hiding beside the bed, Ari closes the door and pulls out a hand gun from under her skirt and peeks through a crack she would open every few seconds checking the hallway.

(" don't tell me the shit that's been happening throughout the city, is now happening here") Ari thought, while she pulls her phone out, she calls Lillian.

" be careful of some kind of animal or hell I don't even know what they are hanging on the brick of the window, we have over two dozen officers outside the building. Where are you?" Lillian said while taking out her binoculars scanning the windows, she sees Ari at the third floor window and waves back at her. A large grey skinned thing crawls quickly across the window, Ari saw the large mouth with razor sharp teeth and it didn't have eyes or even eye sockets. She noticed the long tips with flaps inside of the ear opening and closing as she tries a gamble.

The skin looked pulled over the spots covering up the eye lids, it was as if it as neverborn with them. The length of its arms covered both windows, its legs were hanging against te brick while its claws anchored it there.

Both women couldn't t help but jump when the thing ran across the window stopping on it, Ari puts her finger over her lips looking at the girls and ends her phone call while she slowly backs up away from the window.

A scream from somewhere on the floor catches the creatures attention, a loud clicking sound left its mouth as it scurries away with its large teeth glistening in the light. They watch it crawl across the bars and brick with ease and disappear from their sight

" you both need to be quiet, it was blind so I'm guessing it has really good hearing given the fact when a scream caught it's attention, we'll slowly make our way to the stair well and head out the front" Ari said while looking out the door, up and down the hallway making sure it's clear.

Ari goes out the door with both girls following behind her going to the nurses station, Ari used her keys unlocking the door and all three enter the room. She unlocks a large metal cabinet and looks at the mace, batons and taser guns.

" here take these" Ari hands them spray, baton and a taser, Len walks over grabbing two lab coats and hands them to the girls.

She grabs several cans of spray and a few taser guns, loading the pockets of their lad costs and hands them a few batons when a noise in the back of the room catches their attention. Ari looks behind the desk flashing her gun in the faces of a nurse and janitor who are huddled together. Ari sighed then turned to the desk that has the CCTV monitors sitting there.

" Ashley get up and grab these, follow us" Ari said

The old man helps Ashley to her feet, they grab a baton and a taser, Ashley stares at the two girls that is next to Ari.

" You need to lock them up and then we'll wait for the police to come get us" Ashley said while she gripped the baton, Ari sighed.

" listen this has happened all over the city, we need to leave now or those things will get in here. I'm not leaving them, hopefully your right and the officers can save the others. I'm not leaving them no matter what you say and if we can then we'll also help others if we can " Ari said while watching the CCTV video of the floor, on the west side of the floor something is walking on all fours with its spine visible showing on the outside of its body and has a long snout with half its skeleton showing like it was a mix between k-9 and humanoid beast.

" well I guess the west side stair well is out of question, let's look at the East" Ari said while Len stared at some keys on the desk, her heart was breaking leaving all these people locked in here especially after what Ari said about these things. She swipes the keys with Thea watching her back up to the door, Len pleads with her eyes so Thea won't tell and Thea turns her head back toward the others.

Len quietly makes her way to the first couple of doors unlocking them quickly, a few women come out and she quickly quiets them down while looking down the hallway.

" there are these animal-like things inside the building, we have to be quiet or you can go back in the room and I'll lock the door" Len whispered moving on to the next door, a hand quickly taps her shoulder and points down to the bottom of the door. Blood was slowly pooling around the bottom of the door, then a loud bang was heard from the other side making all of them jump back from the door and a large dent was now evident from the other side.

The six girls backed away from the door, another loud smack was heard and the door had a large gaping hole on the side. A large clawed hand came out gripping the door and starts to violently shake the door, creaking metal was echoing down the hall.

" run to the nurses station" Len said with a cracking voice while taking a can of mace spraying inside the hole where the claw was. A loud snarl came from behind the door and a thrashing noise could be heard, Len was backing away from the door and a hand grabbed her wrist.
