Death's Lover

"Why are you wearing cow head mask? Lilith asks you this question the third time." Amon groaned, tipping his head up. It made the snout of his mask point at the sky, making Lilith giggle as she found the view funny. "It's weird. Lilith thinks you're ugly that's why you're hiding your face." Hearing this, Amon couldn't help but look at her through his mask. If only he wasn't wearing it, Lilith would see how he arched a brow at her statement as he didn't like what she said. "You said it's rude for people to be ignored. Aren't you being rude for making such a remark?" "Oh!" Lilith gasped, making her cuter as she immediately touched her mouth with both of her hands in an attempt to shut herself up. The little girl spoke again, her voice heard even though she talked softly. "Lilith didn't mean to... Lilith is sorry. But Lilith was honest. Doesn't that make Lilith a good girl?" *** Amon, the Grim Reaper, appeared in the mortal realm to fulfill his job in collecting the souls of the dead. However, an unusual event occurred when he was about to collect one dying pregnant woman's soul. She was giving birth right before she died, making Amon panic and worry as her dying wish was for him to save her child! With the Grim Reaper actually a softie and is willing to take care of the infant despite the rule of their job to not interfere in mortal affairs, what lies ahead for Death and his now-growing human, Lilith? *** "Why do you wear that?" "19 years have passed—" Amon started, "—and this is still what you want to ask about?" "Well, yes." Lilith grinned. --- WARNING: Some chapters of this story contain mature R-18 content. Fashionably Late

"I am the Grim Reaper—Death himself. A little child is clumsy and if she sees my eyes accidentally through this mask that helps me control my powers, then she shall die and I will be breaking the promise the human asked of me."

Ever since Amon said that, he left to do his duties as a Grim Reaper once more. He was told that after his duties, he has to come back to the party to at least celebrate with them for a short time.

At first, Amon declined. But since Eucraick asked for his presence and with Amon remembering all of the things that Eucraick had done for him, he felt uncomfortable saying no. That is why the Grim Reaper promised to appear even just for an hour.

As King Blanc and Eucraick were left alone, they were excited that this day, they will finally have a family gathering after how many months!

King Blanc is married to the Kingdom of Elysion's queen, Queen Heraleen, the Almighty Seraphim. Back then, both kingdoms were at each other's throat because of the reign of King Blanc's father, Zen. But right now that he has regained the throne, the two kingdoms now lived in harmony.

King Blanc and Queen Heraleen have three sons—triplets, namely Devin, Levin, and Nevin. All were arranged accordingly to who came out first to the last.

Each of them have a family of their own, too. Nevin is married to a Succubus, Dharvey. Levin is married to a demoness, Ava. And Devin is married to the human—now angel—he saved, Angeal.

Thinking about it now, how fate intertwined their lives is indeed interesting and at the same time, utmost amazing. Each of their child also had children of their own, which made King Blanc and Queen Heraleen love their grandchildren too much.

Even though they said it's a family affair, they had also invited close friends of their triplets. They invited Devin's, Levin's, and Nevin's best friend, Ivar and his wife Gwen. They also invited Gwen's mother. They also invited Arvid (the Unmovable God's child) and his child.

If one could hear their connection and relationship right now, it would be all too confusing. Nevertheless, they were all still too excited to see them.

Because since having a family of their own, they were not able to gather around much—except for Nevin and Dharvey who lived here in the Kingdom of Gehenna. They are mostly the ones who visit King Blanc and the kingdom.

Eucraick looked at his nephew, Blanc. With a big smile on the king's face, Eucraick couldn't help but comment on it.

"You are really looking forward to it, aren't you?"

"Who wouldn't?" King Blanc immediately answered. "Since my father stole my body away from me and with him controlling the kingdom, I have always longed for my family. I have always longed and wished to protect them. It was difficult fighting against him without the help of my sons."

"I understand," Eucraick replied. "Even though a lot of years had already passed, and with your grandchildren also growing, sometimes, the events of the past still haunt you."

"Of course." Blanc resonated with his uncle's words. "I wonder if that were to happen again, I wouldn't want my grandchildren to feel the same."

At the same moment as the adviser and the king were conversing, the door of the throne room opened. Since Nevin and Dharvey live here in the kingdom of Gehenna, they were the first ones to arrive.

"Grandpa Blanc, Grandpa Blanc!"

The excited giggles of the twins echoed in the vast space. With Nevin and Dharvey's four-year-old twins running towards the king, Blanc immediately stood up to greet them.

"Aidan! Nadia!" King Blanc embraced them in his arms and he sat on the throne to let them sit on his lap. "How are my little grandchildren doing, hmm? Are you a good boy, Aidan? And you, Nadia? Have you been giving your dad more stress, hmm?"

Nevin crossed his arms in front of his chest, hearing his dad's statements. It's true indeed that his twins are very mischievous that they had always been pulling a prank on him—especially Nadia.

Seeing how her husband is narrowing his eyes at their children, Dharvey couldn't help but chuckle a little, elbowing her husband's side.

"I think they got it from you," she whispered, Nevin rolling his eyes at his wife.

"Speak for yourself. You're a woman for pranks as well, Dhav."

The twins looked exactly like their father, but with their hair scarlet red as their mother's. With the two approaching the king, Dharvey still gave Blanc a bow even though he is her father-in-law.

"We have arrived, father," Dharvey greeted, also looking at Eucraick to acknowledge his presence.

"Welcome. And how about your other siblings?" Blanc said and asked Nevin, his son letting out a sigh.

"You know how they are," Nevin started. "Always fashionably late."

"And who is fashionably late?"

Hearing another familiar voice, Levin's, echo in the room, Nevin and the others followed their gaze to the source of the sound. With Levin and Devin now present along with their family and friends, the two brothers shook their head at the comment of their brother Nevin.

"Cut us some slack," Devin said, a smirk appearing on his face. "Levin lives on another island. I live on the Meadow Closest to Heaven. Ivar and the others live in the mansion. How can we all come here quickly?"

Nevin chuckled and arched a brow at them, answering his brothers smugly.

"All of you are immortals. We all can magically teleport our way here."

"Goodness..." This time, it was Ivar who spoke. "Can we act like a normal human being for once rather than rely on our magic? With children and all, how could we even think of this right on the spot?"

The whole room then erupted in jovial laughter. As it followed up with the excited screams and playful giggles of all of their children, all of the grownups looked at the younger generation with pride and love on their faces.

Now all of them couldn't wait for this gathering to happen—catching up with everything that has happened so far.
