Chapter III
Alistair
Half the day went by and now I'm making my way to the cafeteria to get my lunch, I usually just read books at the library or go to he gym to practice some dances, because I really don't have much appetite. But today was different, August nagged and dragged me here to eat, saying it's important to put something inside of my stomach, so I complied to make him stop talking.
While we wait in line, I can hear a number of girls squealing how cute the new guy is, glancing at August, I saw him rolled his eyes, so I poked his side and raised my eyebrow, he chuckled and talked in hushed tone, "What's so special with new students?" I laugh along with him, and I swear that I can see his eyes shine.
By the time we got our food, we made our way to the usual table our group sat. As we were walking, I can feel eyes burn hole behind our backs, I know August felt it to, but decided to not let it get to him, by continuing to ramble about the new library in our time, and asked me to tag along with him, which I agreed to. Obviously.
The moment we're nearing our table, we can already hear Shane's loud laughter, for someone so small he sure has a loud voice, makes him the best School Council President. Beside him, sat Andrei, a big guy that will make you think he is bad news, but a nice guy with a good sense of humor, he shared all of his classes with Shane, they fight like an old married couple it gets annoying sometimes. Then there's Honey and Angelo on the other side, chatting about the homework they forgot to do, Honey was a sweet girl with honey-blonde hair reaching to her waist, and Angelo was a slender guy with Korean features.
Once we sat down, Shane immediately stood up and sat beside me and he started talking fast, making August chuckle lightly, "Shane, please slow down, I can't understand what you're talking about." He blushed and replied, "Of course, so there was this new guy, that was in one of my classes today." I stopped eating and looked at him curiously, "Does the guy have a built body with curly brown hair?" He smile widely, "Yes! He's been the talk ever since he came. How'd you know?" I replied, "He was on my class, I don't get why everyone is so caught up with new students." Shane looked at me with curiosity and concern swimming in his eyes, he put his hands on my shoulder, "Are you alright Ali?" I looked at him and smiled, "Yeah I'm fine, sorry I lost my appetite, I think I should go to the garden for some air. See you later guys." August got ready to leave but I told him to stay and finish his food, he looked concern but let go, hesitantly.
As I was making my way to the garden, I bumped into someone I've been avoiding since our last encounter this morning. He offered his hands to help me stand up, I took it and looked at him briefly, seeing a faint blush on his face, I looked away and continued my little walk. "Alistair" he called my name and I stopped dead in my tracks, I didn't turn around I just moved my head slightly to the left, "I know this is sudden but.. if it's okay, I would like to talk to you.. again." I can feel my heart beating fast and I can feel myself slightly shaking, "I'll think about it." I said through gritted teeth. He smiled widely and ran to me giving me his phone number, "Great, here's my number, tell me whenever you'd like to go out. Bye." And with that he left, I can feel my knees get weak and buckle, I prepared myself for the impact but someone saved me, I looked up and saw August, concern still swirling on his brown orbs. My heart was still beating fast, but I don't know what the reason is. I stood up and hugged him, realizing the time, we head to our next class.
