Az looked down at his brother's immobile legs as his eyes started to water. "Say something, Rex. Please."

A few hours in the hospital had passed with Az eating hospital food, playing games on his phones, and begging Rexford to say something concerning the "deadly hooker." After those hours, Rexford was sleeping soundly in his hospital bed when Az walked over to Doctor Steve's office to speak to him.
He knocked on the door twice and let himself in before anyone could say "Come in!"
"Doc-"
"So you can't knock anymore?"
"I did but you were taking too long to answer," Az replied.
"Az, I didn't even get one second to answer before you just barged inside the room as if you were the FBI."
"I have a job for you."
The doctor snickered. "What, did you get a girl pregnant?"
Az rolled his eyes as his face turned red. "Shut up. It's this."
He handed the doctor a tissue that was wrapped over something.
Az stared at Doctor Steve's messy jet-black hair while he unwrapped the tissue to reveal the mysterious bottle containing the odd white substance.
"Hm, doesn't look like cocaine," Doctor Steve commented.
"I want you to find out what it is, not what it's not," Az responded. He leaned his weight on one leg. "So, any ideas?"
"No, not at the moment. I'll have to run a few chemistry tests before coming to a conclusion. I'm sure I can do it, though. All I have to do is run a confirmatory test using infrared spectroscopy that separates-"
"Yeah, yeah, old man. Just do it for me," Az interrupted. "By the way, when last have you eaten? You're looking even skinner than me now."
"Well, Az," the doctor said with an eye roll, "I ate a slice of cake today, and when I stepped on the scale, I weighed 122 pounds."
Az's eyebrows raised in surprise. "You're 5'8"... and old! You need to eat more."
"And you don't? At a whopping six feet, you weigh 130 pounds. You're a growing boy, you need to eat more, not me."
"Vice-versa," Az replied. "I'm eighteen, I'm already done with growing."
"No, you're not. According to several articles and research studies, the average human isn't fully grown until-"
"Fine, old man, I'll eat something," Az groaned. "You won with your boring facts."
Doctor Steve chuckled as Az nodded at him.
"Take care of Rex. Later!"
He hugged his sleeping older brother before waving to Nurse Rachel and leaving the hospital.

Hades was examining his beautiful orchids inside his indoor garden when suddenly a tall man with thick glasses, Richie Ramirez, flung the door open in a panic.
He was an American scientist with honey-blonde hair that made a lot of people associate him with a Goldendoodle. He wore a long white coat, a fitted white shirt, beige corduroy pants, and dark brown lace-up dress shoes.
"Don't come running in here as if your stupid hair is on fire," Hades said. "You could've harmed my Angel's Trumpets."
"Fuck them Angel's Trumpets!" Richie yelled, stomping his foot on the ground. "To hell with the Angel's Trumpets! It's gone!"
Hades turned around to face Richie. "What's gone?"
"The drug..."

In his luxurious living room, there was Hades, sitting on an expensive, rich red loveseat couch crafted from high-quality premium leather. He rested one arm on the elegantly curved armrest and leaned on the padded backrest.
His closest security guard, Ryan, and his son, Eli, stood near him.
"Why do you worship Az so much?" Ryan asked. "That boy is getting on my last nerve!"
"Watch your mouth, Ryan," Eli replied. "My dad does not worship that little punk."
"Thank you, Eli," Hades said.
"What were you guys even talking about?" Ryan inquired. "Why even waste your time talking to that whore?"
"Enough, Ryan." Hades gave Ryan a stern look. "Not that you must know, but-"
Meow!
A beautiful Egyptian Mau cat walked up to Hades and climbed up his leg to curl into a ball on his lap.
"Jasper. So glad you could join us," Hades smiled. He looked down at the gorgeous cat and petted it.
"You were saying?" Ryan said.
Hades stared up at Ryan with a grave expression. "I feel like Az knows something."
"What do you mean, Father?"
"I sent Az's men to kill Henry Arnoult the rat, and-"
"Who is this Henry again?" Ryan interrupted.
Hades narrowed his eyebrows at Ryan, making his expression even more strict. "Don't interrupt me, Ryan."
"Forgive me, sir."
"Henry Arnoult is a journalist who decided to dish out information about my mafia," Hades said. "I had two of Az's gangsters kill him, but then this afternoon. someone told me that... the drug is gone."
The surprise was evident on the faces of Ryan and Eli, as their eyebrows raised and eyes widened.
"Either those hoodlums snitched to Az or..." Hades sighed and scratched Jasper the cat's head. "The journalist gave him something."
"Shall I make him talk?" Ryan asked with an evil grin.
"No. If we excite him, he might get interested instead," Hades replied. "Leave it to me."
He turned to face his son. "Eli, Jasper is sleeping now. Put him in his bed. After which you will call Az over to me."

With Eli by his side, Az slowly and reluctantly walked into Hades' large living room.
"Azzy! Have a seat, my boy," Hades smiled, still sitting on his expensive red loveseat couch.
"You really need to stop calling me over like this," said a standing Az.
Hades turned to his son. "Eli, leave. I'll be with you later on."
Following his father's orders, Eli quickly and quietly left the living room.
"Tell me, Azzy boy," Hades said, giving his full attention to Az who looked annoyed. "Did the man tell you anything?"
Az scowled. "What man?"
"Don't be coy with me," Hades admonished. "What did that rat say to you?"
"He said 'Help me.'"
He watched Az's face carefully to see if he could find any lies imbued in his truth, though when it came to psychology, even a zygote knew more than him.
"Hmph. I see."
"If that's all, I'll be taking my leave," said Az as he began to walk out of the room.
"One last thing."
Az turned around to face the old man.
"Did he give anything to you?" Hades asked.
"No."
"Really?"
"Correct," Az replied as he turned around to leave. "Later, old man. Next time, make an appointment."
He waved to Hades while walking out of the room. Once he left, two security guards walked Az down a corridor leading to the mansion's front door. There, they saw Ryan.
"See ya, fag- I mean Ryan."
Ryan stomped his foot on the ground. "You stupid brat!"
"Relax, Ryan." a voice said as Az and the security guards continued to walk down the hallway.
Ryan looked in the direction of the voice to see a smirking white man, William.
William was practically every American girl's dream man with his blonde hair and blue eyes; however, once people got to know him, no one really seemed to like him.
"William? What are you doing here?" Ryan asked as he stared at William's worn-out sneakers, and then at his old white t-shirt. "And when will you get some new clothes, man?"
"I've got an offer for you," William replied, not answering the security guard's irrelevant questions. "I'm sure you'll like it."
