And to the extent that I was rendered speechless for moments on end.

"Lunar?" I whispered. 

She nodded and then shook her head with a soft sad smile. "Our eminence, Ember is locked away in the centre of the world and we are awaiting the day they awaken. We do not know what the high one looks like, but lady Lunar serves as a bridge between us and Ember. She serves a very important role in our worship."

I lightly frowned. "How did you hear of this?" 

She smiled. "The head priestess. Though it all comes from the first head, a priest who saw an image of lady Luna and carved her presence you see here. After that, lady Lunar has always communicated with the head priest and priestesses in visions and sights and we receive her grace."

I could only stare.

She looked back at me for a while, smiling innocently.
