¬ HILN

He was stunned for a brief moment, a shift in his eyes causing him to finally acknowledge 'me'. His lips flattened before twisting them in an unimpressed expression as he straightened.

I didn't let go of his hand still and he shifted his gaze to the subtle green tinge growing under the skin of his knuckles, staring fixedly at his hand without any emotion. I was injuring him and he handy even done anything—well, he did touch me but…

I released my grip. This wasn't necessary. I was rewarded with an abashed Keane as his face flushed green and he sighed like a drunk, bringing his other hand to cup his cheek.

"Ah, I have missed this side of you," he cooed, leaning forward with a fanatical reverence in his eyes as if he was enjoying the pain.

I jerked my hand back to my chest, releasing him. It wasn't an 'if' issue. He actually liked it.

What is happening here exactly?

"What are you talking about?" I hissed, taking a step back.
