Chapter 13

Hino kept watching the video over and over of the two new infected that Tai sent to her, she uploaded the video to Jake and their employer with details of the infected boy that was a host to thousands of parasites.

Lillian walked in bringing food to Hino then gasped as she watched the video on the screen, she looked over to Hino with an exasperated look.

" what is this thing...why would they create a monstrosity like this" Lillian said sitting down in one of the chairs watching the one creature ripping the guy apart while the other that looked like something from a Syfy movie that obviously had two bodies with one head make the deer apart of it.

" well I'm going to tell you that the government found some kind of species that was discovered in a lake in Alaska that started to thaw and from there an accident in one of their labs made something like these things that kept spreading through bites it it's fluids entering your body." Hino said bringing up pictures and videos of an outbreak in one of the labs, one the first video a man had cut his finger while handling a specimen and within twenty four hours he fell Ill then another twelve hours he became violent snapping his jaws at the other technicians who restrained him.

The ones that was bitten fell Ill within six hours then in Two hours became violent, all of their body functions stop working and before that they had a rotting smell of death. The first one to get infected started to change in his height, weight, limbs and even grew claws while his teeth got longer also sharper.

" so you all knew that they was already ones that walked on all fours" Lillian said looking over different pictures that was in a file on the table.

" no that's the only one that we seen on this video that displayed that, it took three days for the infection to run its course then leak out with some that was infected going home without people knowing that they were infected...by the time the government found out several towns along with a few cities had the infected running around." Hino said pulling out a map with red marks on different cities with dates on it.

" it spreads fast within a week it over took over a dozen cities and small towns, when people started running for safety they brought the virus with them. A lab is located on the other side of the mountain at the very top where they've gathered the best minds to combat this plague" Hino said showing Lillian where the lab was located and even gave her a copy of the map along with an override codes for the place.

" what's this for " Lillian said looking at Hino confused, she smiles warmly at Lillian.

" in case any of us get separated Tai said to give you four copies of this, but we need you to memorize these three codes so no one can take them from you " Hino said as Lillian nodded her head then a knock on the door was heard then Joe ran inside with Len and Calista behind her.

Joe runs to Hino with her arms held up for Hino to pick her up, Hino smiled then carried Joe on her hip and motioned for the girls to take a seat letting them watch and look over all the info they have while also getting copies of the maps along with the codes.

Hino takes Lens knife unscrewing the bottom of it then slides in a map along with the codes explaining what to do and how to do the things she'll need to do in case something happens.

" Len I want you to make emergency packs with food, ammo, water plus a weapon and also a rope and a tarp just in case we ever get separated " Hino said as she pulled out a box that had over a dozen walkie talkies inside.

" Joe here's yours and girls you each need to take one and also give them to the ones your close to " Hino said as Joe had her .38 in a hoster around her waste with the ammo circling around the belt.

" I know Tai said the .38 would be ok for you but I'm thinking that you'll be able to handle a 9mm Glock with an extended clip" Hino said pulling one out and teaches Joe how to load it and work the safety, Joe smiles when Hino put another holster on the belt and handed her three extra clips already loaded with ammo.

" Hino...I also know how to fire my dad's rifle " Joe said with a smile as Hino smiled patting her head, she then walked over to several crates looking through the rifles they had spotting a simple Rifle with a low grade scope.

" well this one holds six bullets at a time Joe so always keep count on how many you fire and practice reloading them as fast as you can " Hino said handing Joe the rifle empty with a box af shells making the other three girls go wide.

" Hino I don't think that's a good idea " Calista said trying to take the rifle away when Joe glares at her pulling it away from her grasp.

" my dad use to take me hunting where I've killed deer and boar more than he did to bring food home " Joe said with a serious look while tapping her foot, Lillian smiled then pulled Calista away from the little girl.

" I'm sure she can handle it but the weight of all these weapons is another factor" Len said walking over to Joe with a smile then takes the rifle away.

" I'm going to have my grandpa work on it to make it lighter and something that suits our little girl on " Len said making the girl giggle while Len takes the rifle out to Grady to work on, Lillian looked outside through the shutter seeing six teaching Jr how to use a bow.

" I want to teach Jr how to shoot a gun as well as the other children " Lillian said as Hino walked over watching him shoot the bow, she sighed then looked back at the video of Jr's dad being mauled by the new creature.

" yeah your right with these new things out there they'll need to know how to protect themselves, Have Grady work on some bows and arrows for them...they'll start there first along with the women " Hino said while Lillian reaches over holding her hand with a smile on her face.

" that workshop they have here is handy isn't it ....also I think they all will need blades just in case " Lillian said while Hino agrees then walks over to a crate taking out machetes two feet long to blades that are twelve inches long.

" help me carry these down " Hino said when she noticed some swords that Tai requested making her grab six that's different sizes and styles.

" oh those are called butterfly swords " Lillian said picking up two of them while inspecting them.

" well I think these will be better then knives for you girls" Hino said saving the rest for Tai, Herself and Ali, Lillian chooses the butterfly swords while Calista picked up a DAO sword that was by the three katanas.

" Purple is Lens favorite color" Calista said grabbing the purple Katana for Len while they exit the room carrying the blades out to give to everyone.

" This machete seems good for the older kids " Hino said while looking at Jr and Six who walked inside, Jr noticed a one handed axe with sharp spike on the other side.

" you like that Jr " Hino asked and he nodded his head while smiling, Six patted his head then gave Jr one of the sandwiches.

" how was his practice" Hino asked while handing Jr a bottled water while Six swallows his food.

" Bullseye's all the way so he's ready for his own bow now" Six said making Jr giggle while he caressed the bow he used which was Sixes bow.

" I really like this bow " Jr said while smiling looking at the bow, Six looked at how happy the boy was then looked at Hino who shrugged her shoulders while walking out of the room holding Joe's hand.

" well Hino says it's fine, so how about you take care of my bow for me " Six said when the boy snapped his head toward him with wide eyes.

" now I expect you to take good care of her and make head shots everytime, ok I'm going to teach these ladies and young men how to use those bow guns and does while you help Winter keep an eye out so you can practice on any infected that comes out " Six said as Jr nodded his head grabbing the bow then running upstairs where Winter is at the top floor porch.
