Chapter 96 War Fortress and Teleportation Beacon!

To understand why Green Arrow fanbase had grown so significantly, Anton summoned the head of the marketing department.

After listening to their explanation, he finally understood.

Green Arrow character had a significant overlap with Batman—so much so that it benefited from Batman massive popularity.

Currently, Batman was the most popular superhero by fan count, thanks to the relentless efforts of DC Studios in promoting his IP through novels, comics, games, toys, and other merchandise.

Batman influence far exceeded expectations, generating enormous profits for DC Studios.

Green Arrow had managed to tap into this residual market. With his similar traits and storylines, he had attracted considerable attention from Batman fans.

Moreover, since both characters came from the same company, there was a sense of loyalty among fans that extended to Green Arrow.

For these reasons, even though Green Arrow only had novels and comics in circulation, his fanbase had skyrocketed.

"So, you're saying I'll have two new identities soon?"

Anton couldn't help but feel pleasantly surprised.

He hadn't forgotten that Green Arrow required only 10 million fans to unlock.

Even though Green Arrow traits overlapped with Batman, Anton had initially chosen Cyborg over him for his second identity.

But considering the cost-benefit ratio, Green Arrow was by no means a bad option.

"Focus on increasing Green Arrow promotions over the next two weeks," Anton instructed the head of marketing. "I want results quickly."

"Understood."

After giving his orders, Anton left the office and headed one floor up to The Daily Bugle.

Natasha, his newly appointed assistant, followed closely behind.

The two arrived at Eddie Brock office.

"Anton, who the new beauty you've brought along this time?"

Eddie couldn't hide his admiration as he noticed Natasha.

"She my new assistant. You know how busy Betty been lately. With Cyborg in theaters, her workload has only increased."

Anton introduced her casually. "This is Natasha."

"Nice to meet you," Natasha said, extending her hand.

Eddie shook hands with her briefly, then turned to Anton.

"Alright, step outside. I need to talk to Eddie privately," Anton instructed Natasha, who left without a word.

Once she was gone, Anton leaned closer to Eddie.

"I need you to investigate someone for me."

"Who?" Eddie asked, his curiosity piqued. Whenever Anton said something like this, it usually meant an interesting assignment was coming his way.

"Dr. Baxter Stockman."

Anton tone was serious. "He a scientist specializing in Teleportation Beacon. He proposed some cutting-edge theories in the field. Find out everything you can about him."

"Teleportation Beacon?" Eddie looked surprised. While he wasn't hearing about it for the first time, it was a field that seemed like it belonged decades—if not centuries—in the future.

"He in possession of something extraordinary," Anton continued, offering Eddie a bit more context. "Something akin to the symbiote you're bonded with—also extraterrestrial in origin."

"You're saying Teleportation Beacon is real?"

Eddie eyes widened, his face betraying a mix of shock and disbelief.

Eddie was stunned by the bizarre nature of the technology. That something like this could exist made him question if he and Anton were living on the same Earth.

"It real, but it originates from alien technology," Anton said. "And it shouldn't be in the hands of someone like Baxter Stockman. Besides, I have another idea…"

"Alien technology? Like Darkseid in the Cyborg movie?"

Eddie recalled watching Cyborg with his girlfriend April the day before. It all began to click, and he asked curiously, "What the idea?"

"The Justice League needs a base. If we can get the mind transfer device, it would be an enormous asset," Anton said with a faint smile.

The idea had come to him when he first encountered the Ninja Turtles.

He thought back to the movie  Ninja Turtles and its depiction of the "War Fortress," a massive spherical structure that the alien villain Krang teleported to Earth using advanced Teleportation Beacon.

Anton believed the War Fortress would be the perfect base for the Justice League.

Combined with the mind transfer device, Justice League members could deploy instantly to respond to crises, enhancing their efficiency and coordination.

Such advanced alien tech had to be secured under his control.

Of course, Krang had been a pushover in the movie, but in this real-world context, Anton couldn't afford to take him lightly. Krang was a dangerous alien fugitive, and defeating him would require careful planning.

Anton decided that once he unlocked Cyborg as his second persona, he would gather all current Justice League members and lure Krang to Earth. After defeating Krang, they would seize his life work—the War Fortress.

With Cyborg advanced mind, controlling alien technology would be a trivial matter.

"From what I know, the mind transfer device is split into three components. Only when combined can they function as one. Baxter Stockman holds one part, and another is at the New York Museum. Eddie, find a way to acquire it," Anton instructed.

"What about the last piece?" Eddie asked, intrigued.

"It in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil," Anton replied, his expression amused as he shrugged. "It going to be a huge undertaking."

"You're sure we can even find it?" Eddie asked, wide-eyed.

"Stockman might be the key to locating it," Anton said with a smirk.

"Phil been testing his new equipment lately, hasn't he?" Anton continued. "Let have him pose as a villain and approach Stockman for collaboration. This will be his first mission. If he pulls it off, there'll be no reason to deny him a place in the Justice League."

"Good point!" Eddie chuckled.

If things played out as Anton envisioned and they successfully assembled the mind transfer device, Phil would become a central figure in the Justice League success.

Sharing a conspiratorial glance, they silently agreed to delegate the troublesome task to Phil.

"Let proceed. Keep me updated," Anton said, leaving Eddie office.

Outside, Natasha stood poised, her upright posture emphasizing her striking physique.

A few Daily Bugle employees couldn't help but gawk, muttering about how their boss Anton had clearly inherited Tony Stark knack for attracting stunning women.

The creak of Eddie office door opening drew their attention.

"Let go," Anton said to Natasha as he emerged. Together, they returned to the DC office downstairs.

After work, Anton packed up and prepared to leave, only to coincidentally bump into Natasha.

He called out to his assistant.

"Miss Romanoff, care to join me for a drink?"

"Sure," Natasha replied, flashing a sultry smile.
