Chapter 41: Earth wasn't invaded in One Day Part 6

[AN: My bad for the wait, after seeing the Boys season 4 finale, I got inspired to write a fanfic about the Boys but my rational side told me that I shouldn't cuz I already have enough unfinished fics on this site and I should finish them first before starting a new one.

Took a bit of time to get my head in the game and complete this chapter. I also decided to lengthen the chapter to 5600+ words as a sort of apology for the late release.]

[Third Person's Point of View]

Nicholas Pierce's life took a strange turn one day when the Riddler briefly managed to capture Batman. This inspired him to live a life of crime though not immediately. Due to already pursuing criminology as a career, he thought this was destiny.

He got himself intentionally thrown into Blackgate Penitentiary in Gotham where he watched and investigated several inmates locked in there by Batman. After numerous observations, he was able to isolate a common flaw among everyone who faced the Dark Knight and learned that Batman has defeated so many supervillains because of the fear they have of him.

Nicholas admitted to himself that he was not above that same fear. However, all that changed after his release as he decided to have fear surgically removed before he went out to fight and take out scarecrow in order to gain enough credibility to catch the attention of the Dark Knight.

He dawned a falcon mask as he went to face Batman. As one would predictably guess... Nicholas got his pack folded, rolled, and metaphorically smoked by the Dark Knight, quite easily if one were to be honest about it.

Despite losing his ability to feel fear, Nicholas was still the same as before. He lacked the skills, speed, and strength to defeat Batman. He realized this when Batman threw him back into Blackgate Penitentiary.

Concluding that Batman's martial arts skills were beyond what he could match at in his current disposition, Nicholas set out to learn how to fight... by engaging in a brawl with a couple of inmates, some of which had prison shanks on them.

'Yes, this is it! This is the beginning of my first lesson to become a fighter. I will learn all that I can and I will use it to beat you, Batman. I shall become your natural predator, a man who can not feel any fear and has the skill to match yours.'

Those were Nicholas' last thoughts before the group of inmates savagely beat him while a guard was laughing his ass off due to the sheer stupidity that Nicholas displayed as the guard was sure of Nicholas' certain death.

Now, some might be wondering what made Nicholas so special to be mentioned. The reason why he was mentioned is because Batman was currently thinking about him. It was now that Batman realized that he had begun underestimating some of his villains.

This flaw in his judgment had started with Nicholas and little by little without even realizing he had begun to view his villains that were classified by the media as D lister villains as dumb and not cunning enough to pull any meticulous plan.

I remember that in one of his comics, Batman got outsmarted by Clue Master because the latter realized that when one of Batman's A-listers is causing trouble, then the D-lister is practically invisible.]

For Batman, Charles had no reason to kill Joker... at least no reason to kill alone but if he factored in Nygma's gruesome death then he now knew the perfect motive behind what could push Charles Brown A.K.A Kite-Man to kill the Joker, assuming that he was involved in the Riddler's death as well.

Batman had narrowed the list to who could have the means and the brain to pull such a meticulous plan to kill The Riddler but none of those on his list had any motive or more precisely enough of a motive to torture Nygma as Nygma had been tortured.

Batman was shocked. Both at the realization that Charles had enough of a motive and time as well as the realization that he had subconsciously started to underestimate his villains. Still, he could not disregard the possibility that someone was behind Charles.

He had investigated Charles's recent actions starting from when the former moved to Metropolis. The fact that Batman could not find anything that could link Charles to Nygma's murder further proved his hunch that Charles was related to this.

His hunch was based on the fact that Charles had an alibi for Nygma's murder but that alibi was in the form of a YouTube live channel video that was uploaded while Nygma was being tortured. In this day and age, falsifying electronic data to create an alibi is more than common.

When Batman arrives at Charles' place, he is greeted by the scene of Charles cleaning up his apartment while the latter's dinner is boiling up, from the scent Batman deduces that Charles is making Spaghetti Aglio E Olio.

"Why did you do it, Charles?"

Batman stayed hidden for a few minutes as he observed Charles then decided to speak in his usual domineering voice. Upon hearing Batman's voice, Charles jumped out of fright from where he was standing and yelled.

"AH!"

He turned to see who had just spoken only to realize that it was none other than Batman. Charles took a deep breath and then spoke while pointing his finger at Batman.

"Look, I don't know why you're here but you have absolutely no right to come into my home. I've paid for my crimes and left Gotham to start anew. As far as I am concerned, I have done nothing wrong that would merit you breaking into my home announced-"

"The Joker was found dead in his cell, he was burned alive and while a large portion of the security footage of Arkham was erased, part of it was recovered. Said part shows you rigging his cell to burn him alive."

Batman interrupted Charles as he walked towards the latter. Charles brought his hands up as a sign of surrender and then spoke.

"Okay, I know where this is going and I am not going to be part of this. First of all, there are like a dozen people who can shapeshift into anyone they want. Second of all, I am surrendering in case you plan to beat the shit out of me until I say whatever you want to hear. Third of all, I am going to call the cops that way I can save myself a beating... so I am slowly bringing my hands down to grab my phone in my pocket."

Charles looked at Batman for a few seconds and seeing the Dark Knight doing nothing, he proceeded to reach down his phone and call the cops. It took a bit of explaining and reassuring them that he was not high, due to mentioning that Batman was in front of him, for the police to send cops to his home.

Now some might think that Batman was either stupid for letting Charles do this or it was out of character for the Dark Knight to do this but that was not the case. Batman's hunch told him that Charles was not the mastermind but a pawn.

This was further proven by the fact, that after an extensive and unbiased background search on Charles, it showed that Charles could not have done all of this, even if it was just the murder of the Joker, alone.

He would have needed help and that is why Batman planned to uncover the identity of Charles' helper once they reached out to him while he was in custody. Again, some might think that this was not possible as Batman could not have the time for this when he was still investigating the Light.

Well, Batman had temporarily handed the investigation of the Light to Aquaman. Now this might come as a surprise and shock but even if the ability to talk to fish was looked down upon, it served as a crucial element for Aquaman to monitor his half-brother and therefore the Light as well.

The shock that Red Arrow had probably been cloned by the Light and was acting as a spy was still fresh on every League founder's mind. Martian Manhunter had been tasked to verify if that was true and everyone already knew the answer when Martian Manhunter organized an emergency meeting with the Justice League founder.

Martian Manhunter had looked into Red Arrow's mind and noticed within Red Arrow's mind lay trigger words that served as a way to force him into a trance-like state where he would obey any order that he was given.

A consensus was made between the seven of them that they should save Red Arrow first and then deal with whatever came next. This is why they went to Acnologia since he had the spell that managed to teleport Kara from another dimension.

They figured that he could probably tweak the spell to at best bring back the real Red Arrow and at worst give them the location where he was being held. They had secretly taken the clone's blood for Acnologia to use and when Acnologia cast his spell, he bore bad news.

Red Arrow, the real one, was dead. Acnologia had found another clone but when it came to the real one, the Life Spirit had confirmed that Red Arrow had died. Acnologia showed the founding members a picture of a new hero who had just started to make the headliners in the local newspaper, Guardian.

He then left it to the founding members to deal with this mess which they did though it did not come easy. Simultaneously, they informed Green Arrow that his first protégé was dead and cloned... twice.

They reprogrammed the Justice League security network in case it had been leaked from Green Arrow through Red Arrow. They also removed the trigger words that were inside Red Arrow's clone while also beginning to monitor Guardian.

Green Arrow and Red Arrow took an absence leave from their hero duties after learning the truth. When the Light learned that their infiltration plan had failed, they were not pleased but they did not have the luxury to care at the moment.

Intergang had started to send various shipments filled with new weapons overseas and that was more of a pressing matter, especially after Klarion finally decided to inform them who was Intergang's helper.

What none knew, even Intergang was that the shipment of weapons was once again a ruse. Due to suffering loss at the hands of New Genesis's interference, Apokololips decided to once again change their methods of invasion, as in, they would ensure that the planet would be conquered within a day.

Unknowingly, Intergang spread modified Father Boxes around the world which will be used to create Boom Tubes that will each bring forth a Parademon's Tower. A Parademon's Tower is a tower that has the role of producing and controlling all Parademons during the invasion of Earth.

Each Tower can instantly be reconstructed if it is destroyed. They can only be eliminated for good if all Towers are destroyed at once. The legion of Parademons would exhaust Earth's protectors while protecting their respective Tower until they managed to kill all of Earth's protectors.

Now for those that do not know, Parademons are creatures genetically created in Apokolips' laboratories and serve as Darkseid's loyal army. Most Parademons are bred from the stock of species whose planet was conquered.

When Apokolips decides to mount an interplanetary invasion, Darkseid usually sends in waves of Parademons as the advance force as a way to weaken the planet's defense before his main force invades.

Knowing how much of a threat Apokolips is, the Light decided to interfere with the Intergang's shipment which delayed the placement of the modified Father Boxes for a bit. It is also due to dealing with Intergang that the Light had no time to either care or act on the matter regarding the Red Arrow clone.

When the Justice League also learned the identity of Intergang's supplier through Green Lantern, they also interfered with Intergang's business which further delayed the placement of the modified Father Boxes.

Seeing the Justice League taking action, the Light decided to help them from the shadows while leaving all the heavy lifting and dirty work to the Justice League. Even if it had not been for the fact that the League did not have admissible evidence against the Light, the Justice League could not attack the Light at the moment.

[AN: By that, I mean clear evidence that links the members of the light to the crime they committed. The League can't just use their word to convict them.]

in fact, regardless of the fact that some members of the Light that they knew had diplomatic immunity, the Justice League still could not attack the Light right now. The reason for that was the same reason why the Light was not currently antagonizing the Justice League in any way.

It was because both sides had the same concern at the moment which went by the name of Apokolips. An invasion was in the way, this was something that both sides knew and as much as they did not like the other, Apokolips represented a bigger threat than the other side at the moment.

With all of this going on, Batman still chose to investigate the ones behind Charles Brown because he promised Jim Gordon that he would get to the bottom of this. Even with Green Arrow almost going on a League of Shadows killing spree, Batman remained focused on Charles.

He received an update that Black Canary had stopped Green Arrow before the emerald archer crossed the line that no hero should ever cross. Still, everyone has a limit to how much they can endure or wait and Batman reached his limit when no one reached out to Charles.

Even after he was transferred back to Gotham while he remained in jail, nobody suspicious reached out to him. The only people who reached out to him were Joker's victims or relatives of Joker's victims who came to thank him once irrefutable proof of his crime was found.

The Dark Knight decided to pay him a visit. Batman found Charles eating a delicious-looking cake. This time, Charles was not surprised by Batman's appearance due to already guessing that he had come when the lights were cut off for a second, which he used to steel his nerve.

"Batman, did you know that evil is not the opposite of good, but a radical indifference to said concept?"

[AN: Not going to lie, I didn't come up with this line, I found it read or heard it somewhere but I can't remember where or by who.]

Charles said after munching on the last piece of cake that he had. He saw that Batman remained stoic as always then proceeded to continue.

"It seems that they found irrefutable proof that I allegedly murdered the Joker which made everyone act like I was some sort of superhero. You can't believe the number of people who come to my cell to thank me or give me some food.

By the way, I heard that they made a parade throughout the city to celebrate Joker's death... Is that true?"

Once again Batman stood there but this time, he decided to speak.

"I know that you had something to do with Nygma's death. Who else was involved? I am running out of patience, talk now or else."

Charles looked at Batman for a second before he repeated the Dark Knight's words.

"Talk now or else, huh?"

Charles then began to yell.

"AND WHO THE FUCK DIED AND MADE YOU KING OF FUCKING GOTHAM! YOU GO AROUND THIS CITY THINKING THAT YOU OWN IT! THAT IT IS YOUR FUCKING DUTY TO INSTILL ORDER NO MATTER THE COST YOU HAVE TO PAY BUT WHENEVER YOU FUCK UP, IT'S NOT ONLY YOU THAT HAS TO PAY.

EVERYONE IN GOTHAM IS LIABLE TO BE VICTIMS OF YOUR FUCK UPS. YOU USE FEAR TO COARSE PEOPLE INTO SPILLING THE BEANS BECAUSE WHAT? BECAUSE THEY ARE CRIMINALS?! WELL NEWS FLASH JACKASS, EVEN CRIMINALS, ESPECIALLY THE PETTY ONES, NEED MONEY TO SURVIVE IN THIS DUNG HILL OF A CITY.

TALK NOW OR ELSE?! YOU FUCKING DARE SAY THAT TO ME WHEN THE LAST TIME YOU SAID THOSE WORDS AND I TALKED I ENDED UP LOSING MY SON!"

Charles approached Batman as he continued to yell.

"I DON'T KNOW WHAT MADE YOU BECOME THE BATMAN. MAYBE IT WAS A WEIRD OBSESSION WITH BAT THAT BORDERLINED SEXUAL DEGENERACY BUT I DON'T GIVE A SINGLE FUCKING FUCK. I AIN'T SAYING SHIT TO YOU ABOUT ANYTHING SO BEAT ME UP FOR ALL I-"

That was all Charles could say before Batman started his interrogation, his more brutal and physical kind of interrogation but to Charles's credit, he did not spill a single thing to Batman. That was because Brainiac had also given knowledge him to overcome pain.

[AN: Like how Batman learned to overcome pain through Dr. Daniel Captio.]

Still, Batman's brutal interrogation resulted in something that he had not foreseen because the news of what happened to Charles reached the ears of G. Gordon Godfrey who decided to make omelets with the eggs that just got broken.

What that means is that he began using Batman's brutality to paint Charles as the victim after he heroically solved one of Gotham's most nefarious causes of death A.K.A the Joker. He then used this to spread more distrust against the Justice League, ruining their image with his top-tier instigating skills.

In Metropolis, Toyman's giant nutcracker robot can be seen running rampant. He seemed to have created his latest masterpiece that would slay the man of steel but he made one mistake or more acurately he made one new mistake.

Toyman attacked Metropolis while Wonder Woman and Triton were in town due to a reason called plot device. In all seriousness, it was due to Wonder Woman wanted to wish Supergirl a happy birthday while she had time to do so.

Toyman was easily dealt with after Acnologia transmuted his giant robot into a giant pile of water which he used to bring Toyman down before locking him up in a cage made of ice while they waited for the police to take Toyman into custody.

Superman and Supergirl were overjoyed because that saved them a dozen minutes of fighting Toyman. Now some may think that it is an exageration but that time estimation was accurate for the sole reason that both Kryptonian were limited by the city they were protecting.

This means that they could not go full speed and rip Toyman out of his giant robot because it would have raised their entire surrounding while also killing everyone around them including Toyman just by the shockwave alone of the full speed.

*Clap*

While the citizen, that were dumb enough to stay around while a giant robot was going rampant, were celebrating the villian's defeat, Acnologia's eyes glowed red for a short instant before he brought his hands together and a clapping sound was heard.

*BOOM*

Everyone, except Acnologia, was surprised when they saw a grey humanoid creature flight out of a building by blowing up a hole through it. Only four individuals were fast enough to see where it was heading, Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Superman noticed that it was heading towards Acnologia.

*FZZZZZ*

"ARGH!"

Superman flew to intercept the humanoid creature but was shocked when it shot laser out of its eyes towards him in a way identical to his heat vision. The humanoid creature's laser eyes hit Superman due to him being to shocked to dodge as well as the speed at which it was shot at.

The humanoid creature then resumed its way towards Acnologia as it cocked its right arm back, ready to punch the young Atlantean who brought his right hand up signaling that he would block the attack.

*BZZZAAAP*

Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Superman anticipated a shockwave to come out of the grey humanoid creature's attack but they were shocked when instead of that happening, electricity came out of Acnologia's hand and flowed through the grey humanoid creature.

*POOF*

The jaws of each three heroes almost dropped to the ground when the grey humanoid creature simply disentegrated into a pile of smoke. Silence ensued for a brief minute before they went on to wait for the police to arrive.

For those that do not understand what had just happen, Acnologia simply used his alchemy to trade the grey humanoid creature's, which was the Amazo that had initial gone rogue, entire existance for its ability to copy the abilities of others upon seeing them.

While they waited for the authorities to arrive, trouble once again came to them in the form of a big grey man with unkept hair, rough looks and biker attire riding a flying bike. This was none other than Lobo the intergalactic bounty hunter.

"Well, well, well. Must be my fucking birthday and christmass all in one go!"

Lobo said while sitting on his bike that floated about the four superpowered individuals. Acnologia quickly recognized Lobo as he was one of the most dangerous individual in the Justice league's criminal slash dangerours individual file.

"What is it that you want this time, Lobo?"

Superman asked with a hint of annoynce that was clearly heard by everyone. Supergirl and Wonder Woman readied themselves to fight Lobo as the latter answered Superman's question.

"Well I was just in the area and I thought this would be a delightful place for a summer home- OH WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK I'M HERE FOR!"

Lobo yelled before bringing out a cigar from his pocket and lighting it before he started smoking then he resumed.

"I mean what other reason would I come on this back water planet you dork call home I am here cuz I have a bounty to collect but don't worry Sup, I ain't here for you this time. Someone placed a hefty bounty on the head of that Atlantean behind you."

While Superman, Supergirl and Wonder Woman were surprised, Acnologia remained unbothered by it and decided to speak.

"Whose the fool that decided to put a bounty on my head? I'd very much like to know the place where I should send yours after I am done."

Upon hearing this, Lobo laughed before answering Acnologia's question.

"HAHAHA! You got guts threathing the Main Man, I'll give you that kid but sadly I know jack shit about whose put that bounty on your head cuz they made it anonymous and with the amount on your head, whoever rich fucker is paying for your head ain't even on my to give a shit list."

Lobo grabbed his gun and pointed it at Acnologia as the latter muttered something.

"That's a shame."

*FWIP*

"THE FUCK!"

Before Lobo could fire or Superman, Supergirl and Wonder Woman could attack Lobo, something slashed Lobo's arm which was holding his gun. It barely took a second for everyone to noticed that what had cut Lobo's hand was a dark-like tendril that originated from Acnologia's shadow which had now spread wide.

*PLOP*

Lobo's hand which still held his gun fell down into Acnologia's shadow and sunk into it as if it had sunk into the ocean. Everyone was momentarily shocked and when Lobo realized what had just happen he gritted his teeth as his hand rapidely regenerated.

During that moment, Acnologia's shadow ate Lobo's severed hand thus granting Acnologia all of Lobo's abilities which included the latter's Czarnian abilities. Acnologia also used his shadow abilities to read Lobo's memory and find out if he truly did not know who put a bounty on his head.

This was possible because when Acnologia's shadow cut Lobo's hand, a microscopic piece of his shadow tendril inserted itself into Lobo's arm without anyone noticing. It took barely a few moments for Acnologia to get his answers and luckily for him, Lobo had started insulting him.

"YOU FUCKING CUNT WITH GILLES, YOU TOOK MY SECOND FAVORITE HAND! NOW YOU ARE GOING TO GET IT! I'M GOING TO BEAT THE FRAG OUT OF YOU AS IF YOU HAD CUT MY PLEASING HAND!"

With that self-distraction out of the way, Acnologia got his answer and was ready to deal with Lobo. He first signal the others not to attack before he looked at Lobo and spoke.

"hey, Lobo! Idiot who gets trapped in a mirror dimension says what."

To which Lobo replied with.

"WHAT?!"

Acnologia then effortlessly used his ability to manipulate gravity to seperate Lobo from his bike while keeping the bounty hunter in the air then he closed three finger on his right hand save for the index and middle finger before using his right hand to draw a circle in the air as he spoke.

"Mirror Dimension."

As Acnologia said this, the light around Lobo started reflecting itself and giving the illusion that a veil of mirror was forming around him. As that veil of mirror covered Lobo, he disapeared from everyone's view though everyone could still hear his insult until the veil completely envelopped him.

"W-what was that?"

Superman asked the question that was also on Wonder Woman and Supergirl's mind. Acnologia looked at Superman before answering his question while shrugging his shoulder.

"A new spell that I added to my arsenal. Basically its a pocket dimension that is identical to wherever you cast the spell except no living being are there. Perfect place to test new magic without causing damage to the real world... or in this case tossing a pain in the ass before he wreck the city."

While Supergirl was amazed by that Superman and Wonder Woman marveled at how useful that spell could be. Being experience heroes they had come across several instances were they were not able to perform as they wished to due having to protect the surroundings which included either bystanders or buildings.

The police finally arrived and Toyman was taken into custody then the four of them went around as Acnologia fixed the damaged that Toyman had made with his alchemy. It took a couple of minutes but the damage made by Toyman became nill.

This, by the way, was one of the reason why Acnologia was given so many priviledge by the League such as access to the Watch Tower and being able to read their files on League enemies. In exchange for the priviledges, Batman and Acnologia had made a deal where if he had the time and it did not impead on his private business then he would help with reconstructing the recent damage done by villain whenever he was near that.

"How long can your spell hold Lobo off?"

Wonder Woman asked Acnologia after he had reverse the damage done onto Metropolis. Upon hearing this question, Acnologia asked what time it currently was then proceeded to answer Wonder Woman's question.

"As long as he does not have any means of escape i.e space-time related spell or device, the spell should hold Lobo around five past... Infinity."

Once again they were surprised by Acnologia's answer. Now most might be wondering how did Acnologia gain such a spell and the answer is thanks to Faust. He used Alchemy on two of Faust's magic item that he took and traded them for two skills.

He traded a mirror called the Mirror of Solitude which basically recreated a indentical of what was reflected onto it, inside it. Through this trade, he gained the ability to create Mirror Dimensions at will.

The second magic item that he traded through his alchemy was called the Hourglass of Eternity which had the ability to prolong any moment that occured as it was flippled upside down. Through this trade, he gained Merlin's innate ability from the Seven Deadly Sins called Infinity.

[AN: Both magic object are made up while I was writing this chapter's draft so I don't know if there exist in the DC universe.]

This meant that by combining both skills, Acnologia could create numerous Mirror Dimension that would remain existing until they were either destroyed or Acnologia canceled them. It was unanimously agreed upon that Lobo would remain there until the problem with the bounty on Acnologia's head was resolved.

Weeks went by and the time came for a big day, Kara's birthday which also happened to be M'gann's birthday as well because the author did not want to mixed things up later down the line. As if to prove this point, Acnologia's birthday was a few days from now.

Today, Kara turns Eighteen while M'gann turns seventeen. The Team decided to celebrate this as the moral had not been the same after they learned that Red Arrow had been kidnapped then cloned and now was dead.

The only upside to this was that Wally and Artemis beef had concluded itself and they became fast friend which Kaldur and Dick noticed that it was starting to become something more than that. Everyone thought of gift to give to each of the two birthday girls on the Team.

When the time came to open their present, Kara and M'gann were happy to recieve gifts from their friends but noticed that Acnologia had not brought a gift for either of them which was not true. Acnologia had brought a gift for both, it is just that he had not made it yet.

To everyone's shock, Acnologia used his shadow to cut both his arms, one at a time while the other healed, then clapped his newly regenerated hands together and touched both of his severed arms that were levitating in the air.

*CLAP*

*BZZZAAAP*

Electricity flowed through both of Acnologia severed arms as light blinded everyone that looked at his severed arms. When the light died down, instead of two severed arms were two black goo that floated in the air.

"Here's your present, I call these, symbiotes. Each one of this goo-like creature is a creature that has no will of its own outside of protecting its host's life and act like a metaphorical swiss knife. The main point is that with them, you will not have to worry about Kryptonite or fire."

Acnologia said as he presented the symbiote that he had created through Alchemy by using his flesh. Curious,, both Kara and M'gann approached it and touched their respective symbiote which used this chance to latch onto them as their host.

"Wow!"

Both girls yelled as they felt themselve bond with their respective Symbiote. M'gann could not help but to note that something outloud.

"This feel like just like Martian clothing except-"

"That is quiet the discovery."

Martian Manhunter interupted his niece as he came closer to inspect the Symbiote that had bonded with his niece and was swirling around M'gann's palm at her command. Noticing that his remark had brought attention onto him as well as an unspoke question, Martian Manhunter decided to clarify what he meant.

"If I were to put it into human perspective, these symbiotes that Acnologia created would be equivalent to tattoos that human get on their skin except that these symbiote are removable and move at the wishes of their host.

It is so similar to Martian clothing that I would not be able to distinguish it had I not seen how it bonded with M'gann." 

Martian Manhunter then asked Acnologia with intrigue in his tone as he was fascinated by what he was currently witnessing.

"Did you take Martian clothing as inspiration for these symbiote?"

Acnologia decided to answer his question while also adding something about the symbiote.

"In a way, yes Martian clothing were part of the reason why I was able to create symbiote which brings me to my next point, the symbiote may have some of my abilities, notably the ability to sense danger so you should get used to it fast... Also they require chocolate once every month or so or else they will feed on what you eat."

At the end of Acnologia's sentence, he became bombared by question from both Kara and M'gann followed by the rest of the team while Martian Manhunter noticed that M'gann has changed. Her appearance had changed. He did not mean physically but mentally. 

It is not something that should be impossible since to Martian, their body are just as maelable as their clothes. That was to be given for a race of shapeshifters, their body are just clothes for their mind.

This means that to Martian their body are akin to hair in human standard, it can change at any time and their true body in human standard would be their mind slash sense of identity/self which can grows and change as she goes through different experience that are now her past.

Now in her mind she is in the same humanoid version that she show outwordly but with white skin and her eyes were of a different color. She now viewed herself as herself and not just a white Martian.

This warmed Martian Manhunter's heart as it meant that his niece had found and prided herself for who she was something that would have been very difficult on Mars due to the discrimination that the White Martian faced.
