The Truth Revealed

Chi-Chi: "I'VE HAD IT!!" she shouted in anger. Friends and family looked in her direction but none of them gave her a weird look because they knew it was coming for a long time. "Every time whenever there is something important happening, he's never there! Why!! Why is it so hard for him to be there just once!! Just once! That's all I have asked!!" she ranted.

Goten: "Mom...it's okay. We knew it was going to happen..." he said with obvious disappointment.

Chi-Chi: "NO! That is not good enough!" she knew what she was saying but she couldn't bring herself to stop herself. "Today is your 18th birthday Goten. 18th! Do you understand what that means or how important it is? It means that you have become an adult. It means that my last baby has grown up and yet, where is your father in all this!?" Goten shrunk back but some part of him agreed with her. "He missed most if not all important events in our family! Yours and Gohans birth! Gohan's 18th and marriage! Both of your graduations! Almost every birthday for all of us!! Not to mention, almost every single wedding anniversary!!" she heaved. "Is it that hard to be for a normal family?" she teared up. "Is it so hard for him to stay with us?"

Gohan: "Mom...dad has his reasons. You know that without him, none of us would be here." he tried to help clear the air a little. "Dad is not winning the father of the year or the husband of the year award but he tries."

Chi-Chi: "Maybe he shouldn't try at all!" she spoke through gritted teeth. "I've been a widow as long as I've been married and every single day, it's training this or training that and no bonding. Not even an inkling of desire to spend time with us or even his friends." she looks at Gohan. "Do you know how embarrassing it is to ask Bulma to help pay bills sometimes? Do you know how ashamed I feel to ask our village neighbors for food? Do you know..." she broke off before she came back. "Do you know how desperately I wanted to be loved by Goku? To have him hug and kiss me as he takes me out on dates? To be able to spend time together? To be able to be husband and wife?" Tears filled with pain fell down from her face as she faced Gohan who looked back at her with shock then pity. "I only asked for that much but...I never got it. I never obtained that peace I thought I would get by having a family."

Gohan: "Mom..."

Chi-Chi: "It's just not fair. It's not fair at all." she shook her head. "I spent the better part of my life with a man who preferred fighting over his wife and two kids." she looked at her two kids with guilt. "I'm sorry Gohan and Goten. I am so sorry for letting you be born in such a terrible family. I can never forgive myself for not choosing someone who could've been there for the two of you." she cupped their cheeks. "Please forgive me for being a blind woman. Please forgive your mother for being stupid." Bulma finally stood up.

Bulma: "You're taking this too far Chi-Chi. Goku might not be a good family person but it was never his fault. He was dropped as a kid and he was raised in the mountains. Not to mention the time spent combating enemies that had the annoying desire to destroy or take over the world. Where would he have the time to get educated and get a job?" she asked.

Chi-Chi: "That may be true but that doesn't change the fact that I should've married someone who could've had the decency to come to their children's birthday!"

Bulma: "That's too much! How would he feel if he heard you right now??" she yelled.

Chi-Chi: "You think someone like Goku cares enough to let my words get to him? Do you think he has the mental capacity to even understand my pain? Our pain?" she walked up to Bulma. "Gohan and I nearly fell into depression after he died from Cell! If it wasn't for Goten being born, then one of us would not be here right now! Do I need to mention the fact he made Gohan fight at his young age?! My son had to fight against people who had the ability to destroy the whole world multiple times! Does that not give you enough evidence?" she looked Bulma dead in the eyes. "You never had to go through what I did so what would you understand? You have it all Bulma. You have money to support your family, you have a husband that is somewhat there for you, and you never had to let your child fight against others that could easily kill him."

Bulma: "..." she was speechless.

Chi-Chi: "Honestly. I should've seen the early signs. When Goku questioned what marriage was...I was dumb to not ask myself if what I was doing was right..." she sat down on the couch of her house and sighed as she rubbed her head. The rest of the guests stayed quiet during the argument and many of Goku's friends couldn't help but feel bad for him in different ways. Krillin wanted to speak up for Goku so many times during it all but some part of him kept him silent because he agreed with some things Chi-Chi described. Yeah, he was a lovable dude that always had the perfect timing to save their butts when they needed it but his social life and his communication for his precious people was never his strong point.

Even Piccolo who was standing next to one of the corners of the room contemplated Goku's decisions. The conclusion he reached was that Goku wasn't meant to be a person tied down by a family but rather be a free person who is extremely reliable for everyone. He certainly didn't have any particular bad things to say about him but Goku did do things that were questionable. When Goku practically fed Gohan to the wolves with Cell, he questioned his sanity. How could a father do that to their son but in the end, it worked out by some miracle. The realistic part of him thought about what would've happened if it didn't? What if Gohan never transformed? Just the sheer thought annoyed him a little.

Their amazing luck that they had so far to come out of the fights and win with the dragon balls reviving everyone if they died will stop working at one point. Soon, death was going to stick as the karma for defying fate continuously will come to bite everyone back.

Thinking about Goku's decisions was not what was bothering him as much as Goku himself. That man had some of the best and worst timings to appear and he certainly wished that Goku never came because of what went down today. Glancing at the door of Son Family house, he sensed Goku's Ki diminish every second that went by. It was almost like he wasn't there but with Piccolo's honed sensing abilities and other's lack of training, he felt Goku standing behind the door.

What was extremely worrisome for the Namekian was that Goku's Ki always had a good feel to it due to his purity and his optimistic personality. Now, it was different. It was changing. His Ki wasn't becoming evil or anything and he was still a person who was pure-hearted. However, Goku gave off this extreme sadness. As if he wished that the pain stopped. Piccolo felt the urge to go out and comfort Goku in his time of need but then he felt him vanish. That only happened when he used instant transmission.

Piccolo deeply sighed and hoped that his old friend is okay and that he doesn't do anything rash in his mental state.

This is like a rough draft. I had this idea and I didn't want to let it get away so I wrote everything my brain allowed me to. There is a very small amount of editing done and I promise to fill this chapter up so that it flows better an has a more emotional impact. Thanks for reading and as always, leave a comment of any kind.
