DBZ: Another Monkey

Jin was given a chance to start over in a new life after he had "unfortunately" lost his past life. He suddenly finds himself in a universe where there are aliens with monkey tails and overgrown house cats that could destroy him with one flick. He decided to live once again and to do that he needed to adapt. At least he has his past knowledge to give him that edge. Disclaimer: I don't claim the characters from DBZ or GOH as my own.

Chapter 5

7 years had passed in a blur of training, dust, and the ever-present anxiety that hung over Planet Vegeta like a suffocating cloud. Jin, now a young man of 10, stood on the training grounds, his body honed to a peak of Saiyan prowess. His power level, once a paltry 352, now rivaled that of veteran warriors like Nappa.

Gone were the days of relying solely on brute force. Jin had meticulously integrated the Mori Style into his fighting repertoire. He could unleash devastating energy blasts channeled through precise kicks and fluid movements. The "Hwechook" was no longer just a signature move; it was an extension of his very being, a testament to his unique fighting style.

Life on Vegeta held a strange dichotomy. Bardock, although still stoic, seemed to take a subtle pride in his eldest son's unorthodox yet effective techniques. Gine, ever the nurturing soul, worried about Jin's safety on missions but marveled at his strength.

Their family had grown further. Raditz was born, no longer a brash bully but a loyal brother, sported long hair but a gruff demeanor, a reminder of their father. Then there was Kakarot, the newest addition, still in a medicinal pod.

However, the weight of oppression continued to bear down on them. News of successful Saiyan conquests reached them daily, yet whispers of discontentment started to permeate the Saiyan ranks. Whispers about a mythical Super Saiyan, a warrior of legend said to possess unimaginable power, began to circulate.

One day, while returning from a mission with Pellet, Jin spotted a familiar orange pod streaking across the sky. A jolt of fear coursed through him.

"Hey, Jin," Pellet boomed, clapping him on the back. "What's got you looking like you saw a Saibaman with a death wish?"

Jin pointed at the departing pod. "Why are so many pods these days coming back to Vegeta?" Pellet's grin faltered. "Apparently there was a order that all Saiyans have to come back to Planet Vegeta."

This left Jin confused. Why was there an order for all pods to come back? Then a look of realization flashed upon his face. Before he could say anything, he saw a dark shadow cover the land. Frieza's ship suddenly arrived and soldiers started to fly out and attack everything in sight.

Jin and Pellet immediately started to fly out and warn everyone. This was unheard of since every Saiyan thought that Frieza wouldn't attack them like this. The tension crackled in the air, thick enough to choke on. This was it. The moment they'd been fighting for, the moment that could change everything.

Jin saw his father, Bardock, fighting against two Frieza soldiers. Jin immediately flew in and used his scissors move to diagonally kick the neck of the soldier forming a scissor shape as his legs go down. The soldier was sent flying and the father and son duo made quick work of the remaining one. "Jin, what's going on? Why is the Frieza Force attacking Vegeta," Bardock questioned as they both started flying. Suddenly, a chilling voice pierced the air, echoing through their scouters with an authority no Saiyan could ignore.

"Lowly Saiyans, it has long been since you outlived your usefulness. I tearfully regret to inform you that this ends our contract of employment." Jin's blood ran cold. It was Frieza. Bardock's face contorted in anger, his voice tight with defiance. "Frieza, that bastard. We won't allow our race to be sacrificed any longer!"

The air shimmered, and a menacing figure materialized in the sky. Frieza, his white armor gleaming under the twin suns, hovered above them, a smirk playing on his cruel lips.

"This changes things," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "Now, witness the destruction you've wrought."

Pellet let out a guttural roar, charging at Frieza in a blind rage. Frieza raised a finger, a single energy blast erupting from his fingertips. The blast slammed into Pellet, engulfing him in a blinding light. A moment later, only silence remained.

Jin's vision blurred. Pellet, his loyal friend, gone in an instant. Grief warred with fury within him. But before he could react, Bardock, ever the protective father, shoved him towards the Saiyan pod.

"Take Kakarot and Raditz," Bardock growled, his voice raw with emotion. "Get them off this planet. There might still be a chance…"

Jin hesitated, the weight of the decision crushing him. Leave his father to face Frieza alone? The thought was unbearable.

Bardock gripped his shoulder, his grip surprisingly strong. "Go, Jin! Don't let my sacrifice be in vain!"

Jin protested, "Father! I can fight! I can't let you die while I'm still here!"

"JUST GO!" Bardock roared, "Think about your brothers! Keep them safe and grow stronger. Strong enough to kill Frieza." Bardock paused before he let out a smirk, "And you think I'll be defeated that easily? I'll have you know your old man is the strongest."

Suddenly, he grabbed Jin and threw him in the direction of their home before facing to confront Frieza. "I'm going to kill you, you overgrown lizard," Frieza laughed before a chilling look appeared on his face before both moved faster than Jin can see and their battle began.

Jin gave his father a final, tearful look before flying to Raditz and Kakarot. As he strapped in the wailing infant Kakarot, a wave of energy engulfed their position. If he remembered correctly, the pink blob that descended onto them was named Dodoria. Jin cursed as he started shouting at Raditz, "Go into the other pod and set coordinates to whatever planet is farthest. I'll hold off Dodoria before leaving." Raditz shook his head. "No way Jin! We fight together!"

But Jin's voice was steely. "This isn't about fighting anymore, Raditz. It's about survival. Get away. That's an order!" Suddenly Gine came into view, her face pale with fear but her eyes filled with a fierce determination. She ushered both Raditz and Kakarot into their separate escape pods, tears welling in her eyes.

"Jin," she choked out, clutching his hand. "Take care of your brothers. Find a home, a place where you can be safe, be happy." Jin swallowed the lump in his his throat, a single tear escaping his eye. He squeezed her hand, and suddenly shoved her into a pod with Raditz and it quickly was taking off.

He could see her and Raditz pounding the door of the escape pod but it was to no avail as both pods rushed out into space. He sent a silent farewell before facing Dodoria who surprisingly allowed it to happen.

"Any last words Saiyan trash?" Dodoria's voice boomed. Jin gritted his teeth, "I'm not trash," he growled, the rage boiling over. "I will avenge our fallen comrades eventually."

Dodoria laughed, a harsh, grating sound. "Avenge? You, a runt pretending to be strong? Pathetic." Jin's rage flared, he couldn't let this be the end. With a desperate battle cry, he propelled himself towards Dodoria.

The Saiyan warrior met the Frieza Force commander head-on. Dodoria scoffed, raising a hand to swat Jin aside like a fly. But this wasn't the same scrawny kid Dodoria expected. Years of rigorous training, fueled by loss and a burning desire for vengeance, had honed Jin's skills to a razor's edge.

He channeled his ki, unleashing a powerful energy blast that slammed into Dodoria's chest, sending him staggering back. The Frieza Force commander gaped in disbelief. This Saiyan runt was stronger than he anticipated.

The ensuing fight was a whirlwind of punches, kicks, and energy blasts. Jin fought with a ferocity fueled by despair, his Mori Style techniques unpredictable and relentless. Dodoria, surprised by the

Saiyan's newfound strength and skill, struggled to keep up with the onslaught. Jin's blows landed with precision, each strike fueled by the memory of those he had lost to the tyrannical rule of Frieza. A ground drawer, to knock him off balance, a soksa, a knee attack to the head, and many more.

Dodoria, his bulky frame struggling to match Jin's speed, roared in frustration, launching a barrage of energy blasts in retaliation. But Jin was agile, weaving between the attacks with grace born of desperation.

With a primal yell, Jin surged forward, his fists crackling with energy. Dodoria, his confidence wavering, attempted to block the incoming assault, but Taro's strikes overwhelmed his defenses.

A final, devastating 3rd Stance Hwechook sent Dodoria crashing to the ground, his armor cracked and smoking. Jin stood over him, panting but victorious. The Frieza Force commander lay defeated at his feet, a testament to Jin's unwavering determination and newfound strength.

As Jin caught his breath, he glanced around at the battlefield, the ground littered with the fallen. Despite the victory, the cost had been high. But for Jin, every sacrifice was a reminder of why he fought – for his people, for his pride, and for a future free from the shackles of Frieza's tyranny.

He couldn't soak in the victory however, as the Frieza Force was still wrecking havoc. He flew over to another escape pod and punched in random coordinates to escape. His pod launched into the atmosphere and away from the devastation below.

He looked out the viewport to see a horrifying sight. Frieza had unleashed a devastating attack, a sphere of pure destruction hurtling towards Vegeta. The once proud Saiyan planet convulsed, buildings crumbling, volcanoes erupting.

Cries and screams filled the air as the wave of energy slammed into the planet, tearing through everything in its path. He could see Bardock standing defiant, his fist raised in a futile gesture, before being consumed by the blinding light.

Jin's heart shattered. His home, his family, everything he ever knew, was gone in a single, horrific moment. Tears streamed down his face as the escape pod, propelled by the shockwave of the destruction, rocketed away from the smoldering remains of Vegeta.

Chapter 5 finished. A bit longer but I think that this whole arc was kind of rushed. I'll try to be better about this going forward.
