Chapter 63

Jealous eyes watched Valente, Kaida, and Casper eating, laughing, and chatting with each other. Suni felt so left out. But mainly jealousy ate her insides because her mate was not giving her any attention.

She sighed and rested her chin on her hands.

"Dumbass, sleepy?" Valente whispered.

Her ears perked up and she immediately nodded, snuggling up to him.

The redhead scoffed, "That is just the weirdest thing you did tonight. You normally don't be like this, all cuddly until I hold you close."

"I-I always am!" She defended herself. She didn't want him to know she was jealous of such a little thing.

"Sure, love." Valente sarcastically spoke. "Sleep in my arms now," He hugged her close, and picked her up, walking to the huge tree they were going to sleep under.

He sat her on his lap and scooped her in his arms. Slowly rubbing her healing swollen cheek, he kissed her forehead and then asked, "Does it hurt?"
