Symbol and proudness

It took me time to get used to my horns in my head however.. that wasn't even the biggest thing I needed to get used to. It was those wings on my back that I started to feel! They weren't that big yet however I could feel them on my back, it was weird, they didn't feel out of place at all… it was as if they were always there since the beginning. As if I had them already in my human life, it felt just weird.

I could move them on my will and that was pretty easy, Alba told me stories of other children like me that where also getting used to their wings, she showed me always how to use them the best and how to keep them in their place.

She told me that I could trust my wings the most of the whole world, it seemed that those wings where the proudness and symbol of the Dark Fey.

As time was passing by did I get to learn a lot from Alba, she teached me how to talk, how to walk and she helped me with everything. It was weird, I really enjoyed her time with me, maybe would it not be so wrong to start over from the beginning… I cared a lot about Alba, she really was like a mother figure.

"Alba…?"

"Yes Madilim?"

"Are you my mother?" When I asked that did Alba look at me with surprise in her eyes.

"A-Are you willing to let me be your mom?"

What weird question is that?

"Of Course… I see you as my mother" She walked with a smile on her face to me and lifted me in her arms.

"Your my daughter then…" She smiled so kindly to me that I could only hug her with as much strength I had in my body.

That was one of my most amazing day's I had spent in this body. I couldn't wait for the other days that were coming.

Today is the day that I would go to some sort of class? Mom said that it was good for me to meet other Dark Fey of my age and I was with her on that, I never had a friend in my life so I really wanted to make one this time.

Mom showed me where I needed to be and I walked to the open place in the woods, here was no snow nor coldness, it was warm here however not that warm.

I asked once to my mom where we were exactly, she told me that we lived in a huge cocon where no humans could come and where we were safe from the outside world.

It seemed so huge that it could have more than 7,000 Dark Fey to live in.

Sadly that was the population from the whole species… we were almost extinct.

With that in my mind did I walk towards this "class" meeting, I just took a tree and sat on it waiting for this class to start.

The other kids did look at me but didn't talk to me in any way, it kinda hurted.

As soon another Dark Fey walked inside, he took a seat before me and soon the other children went to sit on different trees. We all looked at the guy who was about to talk.

The class itself was very boring, most stuff did I already know however the nice part came finally.

"As you all know are these wings our symbol and pride, however they are also or weakness… If, by chance, you happen to lose your wings would it be over for you. You would be no different than a walking dead person."

"But you see, we can recognize you where you come from by the colour your wings have, as in my wings, you see this sand colour? That means that I'm from the dessert, or do you have white? That means your from the snowfields and so it goes on."

After this class ended did I walk home to my mom, she must be cooking now at the moment, I didn't know what we were gonna eat, maybe deer? I had no idea.

I learned that we Dark Fey grow way faster than humans or other species, we can become like a teenager when we are just close to a year old. I looked already 5 while I was just 6 months old in this world. Sadly could I not fly yet, I was allowed to fly when I got older but I needed to wait longer from mom.. however I didn't need to wait that long anymore.

With excitement did I walk home and song a old song from my past life… as one happy person did I walk through the woods on my way home.
