Her legs weren't cooperating any more. She bent to rest a little but fell on her back . She wanted to hurry into the club before the kidnappers find out about her missing but her body won't listen to her. She blamed her boyfriend and friends. If Hassan was giving her attention , she wouldn't be in a situation like this. Same goes to her two friends if they didn't get drunk at the party leaving her to the sorry to call a lover she 'd be as close as safe with them. But what if something had happened to them too. She shook the thought of any harm going close to them off her head. Of course Ali might be at home or with his brother in the club.
She lazily rose to the ground and started jogging cursing the fact that she left her friends and should be blame for everything.
... Connie had arrived home that night in her quiet but cozy apartment. Even with her part-time job she had to rely on her aunt to foot the bills until Hassan came in . She looked around to how unkempt she left the place. With her clothes every where as she had to change everything and anything she wore from her wardrobe cause May and Ali said something like ,' Na not good enough.' or ' That's not good for the occasion.' or something else. She sadly looked at her pet who witnessed it all. "Hello Rose" She calmly touched the small cage as she wished she could get a bigger one soon. She had kept the parrot in there since it was gifted to her. A gift from the family as her aunt and granny described it. The family she never have. Her parents.
"Hello silly Conn' !" The sadness gently walk away letting a new peaceful feeling in. How is it possible that the bird she always pours her anger on, always seems to make her happy. The sound of the bird brought peace to her inner most being. Her granny always call her silly kid and she taught the parrot to do the same.
She touched the parrot and brought her tongue out in a playful manner . "Rascal"
"Hassan is a rascal." The parrot spoke back as she walked away into the kitchen with a smile on her face. The parrot has become the bank where she deposit her anger. How nice , she thought.
"Scummy and crazy also a busy ass ." She yelled to the hearing of the bird. She started to make her self, noodles but the entrance door opened forcefully. She screamed at the top of her voice . "Hassan you better fix that if you broke it already! And please leave . Go away as far as far from me cause I want a good night sleep. Rascal ". She hissed.
The parrot kept pouring words she didn't care to listen as she sat her self down to eat .
The click . click. click... sound heels and gentle sound of boots startled her. At first , she doubted her hearing till she turned to face the beautiful lady and three huge men who forcefully took her out of her own apartment. She wanted to believe it was another of her horrible nightmare and she would wake up but it was real and she wasn't waking up . They asked for Hassan's where about but she was too shock to speak. she got a blow in the stomach that brought all the noodles and drinks out of her tummy. She could swear it stinks and she might never be able to eat the food again.
*** The journey seems endless until she stopped at the front of the club. It was closed already and the scary giants at the front weren't looking friendly. She turned around as their eyes met with hers. A boy walked out and was familiar. She quickly walked to the boy . He was same height with Ali but slimmer and Irish . Though he looked handsome , he was a timid one. He was Hassan's buddy. She quickly asked about Hassan and he walked her to one of the giants, after whispering something to him they let them in.
The lad name which she barely remembered , walked in to the building majestically. It was a happening place for most people and yet they were closed. People were inside doing their own business. The place reeks of alcohol and cigarettes. He took a stairway going down to an underground building. She didn't know much about the guy but she quietly followed him. She remembered the boy runs errands for Ali too and felt safe with him. His calmness was cool. They walked passed a cheerful couple and she wondered what would be Hassan's reaction when he get to see her. Happy or sad , she would make him explain to her why she had to suffer for him.
The underground of the building was like another place entirely. Quiet and clean. It was the opposite of the other. There were lines of rooms , more like apartment and all with numbers different from the other. Their doors were strong expensive doors. The whole place were decorated with different flowers and she quickly remembered most of their scent as it filled her nostrils. She smiled and the lad smiled too after catching her smiling. He pointed to the room by her side and she turned to it . "That's where he is." She saw him leave quietly and wondered what he 'd do or say if he was the one captured . She shook the thought off as she knocked on the door.
The door opened and she almost screamed as Hassan dragged her in . He hugged her tightly with his eyes closed. She felt the warmth of his body and the sweet smell of him and didn't want him to let go of the hug. She missed him . She couldn't deny it . He released her and locked the door. " How are you ? Where have you been ? We searched everywhere for you and your phone was home and...." He won't stop talking . She sat on one of the comfy chair and cried as the tears emerged from her eyes nonstop. He knelt in front of her wrapping his hands around her waist. "Sorry for everything." He finally said . For the first time in a while she felt safe.
