Two Down

After losing one of their members, the three remaining Deng Sect cultivators were on high alert.

The fact that after the match had barely just begun, they had already lost one member. Such a situation did not bode well for them.

This was the true testament to the prowess of the Mo Sect cultivators. Indeed, this battle was unlike anything that they had ever experienced before.

Chen Jing quickly leaped back; he needed to put some distance between him and the Mo Sect cultivators.

If they had any chance of winning he was going to need to cast a specific complex array, this was their only chance to potentially turn the tide of this battle, but for that, he needed time.

Without even needing to communicate, Zihao and Ruolan both quickly rushed forward. They knew precisely what Chen Jing had in mind. This was a testament to their level of coordination and teamwork.

Of course, for the Mo Sect cultivators who were observing this behavior, they also knew the gist of what the Chen Jing was planning.

And so Gao Liang, Xiuying, and Lihua all sped towards Chen Jing. They needed to exert tremendous pressure and prevent him from casting his array.

Of course, Zihao and Ruolan were not just going to allow such a thing to happen; they quickly intercepted the Mo Sect's advance.

Like a deadly dance of steel, the five cultivators spun and flourished their blades. It was almost a mesmerizing sight to behold as sparks erupted violently whenever steel met steel.

Although Zhongming had not engaged in the melee, three versus two already was quite taxing on Zihao and Ruolan.

Thus in order to try and ease their burden, both of them attempted to cast the same offensive sword array.

Numerous levitating swords began materializing in the area numbering in the several thousand.

Yet before they could fully form, Lihua used her Dao of Change to reject the activation of the two arrays.

Zihao and Ruolan could only grit their teeth and frustration as they were forced to fight a losing battle. If the situation did not change soon, the two would quickly be overwhelmed by the three-man offensive.

Right as Gao Liang had broken through the defense of Ruolan and was about to land a finishing blow, removing yet another Deng Sect cultivator from the match.

There was a pulse. A distortion in reality.

It was initially just a tiny distortion that had originated from Chen Jing's location. Rapidly it expanded outwards, forming an impenetrable barrier.

As the barrier grew, it encased all of the Deng Sect cultivators while simultaneously throwing back all of the opposition.

Gao Liang utilized the momentum from the throw and did a flip in the air before landing and instantly springing back towards the Deng Sect cultivators; his swords led the charge as he stabbed the barrier. Yet, try as he might, he found himself completely unable to bypass the barrier.

Xiuying utilized her Dao of Information to analyze the situation.

Apparently, the barrier was a principle created by Chen Jing. This particular principle stipulated that there would be an unpassable chasm between the two different teams.

Chen Jing was indeed an impressive, talented cultivator. As he was casting his complex array, somehow, he still had the ability to multitask and to cast a complex principle.

However, Chen Jing was not the only impressive cultivator here. Xiuying was also just as impressive in her own right.

And thus, with her Dao of Information, she accessed the principal to try and erase it. However, she was only met with failure.

Confused, she dug deeper and then realized what the Deng Sect cultivators had done.

Once Chen Jing had cast this more complex principle. Both Zihao and Ruolan applied layer after layer of simple principles on top of it.

Each of these principles was as follows. 'The underlying principle cannot be altered in any way.'

The speed at which Chen Jing, Zihao, and Ruolan had adapted was quite impressive; they were indeed worthy of the title of genius.

Previously, when they had used the principle, 'Interaction is only valid between me and a specific object or person.' Those principles were not layered; they had merely created an innumerable amount of principles.

And thus, Xiuying could pick and alter or erase any of the principles.

However, this complex principle, which was slow to create, was now protected by layer upon layer of principles, Xiuying could not access it directly. She could only start from the top and remove each layer in sequence.

Right now, both groups were at an impasse; for the Mo Sect, they were not able to bypass the barrier that the Deng Sect had created. And as for the Deng Sect, they could only wait and hope that Chen Jing could give them the edge that they needed to win the match.

However, this impasse would not last long as Zhongming cast an array that allowed him to project his thoughts into his teammate's minds.

Earlier, when the Deng Sect cultivators had targeted Zhongming, he had blocked one single attack from each of the three who are currently still in the match.

Thus, he was able to establish a strong karmic tie with the individuals of the Deng Sect. And even more than that, well they were clashing Zhongming had also marked each one of them with an array.

This further increased the karmic ties between Zhongming and the remaining Deng Sect members.

Although neither Xiuying's Dao of Information nor Hualing's Dao of Change were able to affect the Deng Sect cultivators through the impenetrable barrier.

However, karma, which the Supreme Dao governed, connected all things in creation, regardless of any Dao or array that any cultivator could cast.

And thus, through Gao Liang's Dao of Karma, Zhongming was able to activate his array of binding.

Numerous threads spawned from within each of their bodies, binding the three Deng Sect cultivators from head to toe.

And just like with Yongnian, Zihao and Ruolan were taken out of the fight, the talismans above their heads fading as they were teleported out of the arena.

However, Chen Jing remained unaffected. "Just in time." was all Chen Jing muttered as he forcefully ripped apart the threads that bound him.
