awakening

As I lay bleeding and exhausted from the battle I just fought I can't help but wonder how I got into this situation. Was it purely bad luck? Perhaps I angered some god somehow but none of that matters right now, let us go back to where this all began…. 

A week ago.

I open my eyes and blink in shock of what lies before me, instead of my room being in my peripheral vision it's the sky. Bright blue and not a cloud in sight, I usually would comment on how it looks to be a wonderful day, but I am currently laying in the middle of who knows where and very much not in my room. Despite the strangeness of the situation I try to approach the situation with as much stoicism and calm as I could, I take a look around and try to find anything that could point me in the direction of civilization. Not too far away lies a road. Now the question is what way should I go? I choose left, I start aimlessly wandering the road after choosing my direction.

After about 5 minutes of mindless walking and painfully realising this is now my reality I notice a cart? Or is it a carriage? Anyway they were heading the same way as me so I waved them down. The relief I felt when they stopped was immense.

"What're you doing out here boy" the unknown carriage driver said. 

Looking at him he's wearing clothes that certainly weren't in today's fashion, and he has a rough look about him, but he stopped for me so I better introduce myself.

"I don't know sir, just woke up here a few minutes that way without knowing where here is" I said respectfully, hoping to get the man to help in some manner.

The man looked perplexed and said "that's quite the predicament boy, i'm heading to orario if you wanna catch a ride"

which sent my thoughts into disarray. I remember watching danmachi just last night and hearing that gives me a worrying suspicion of where I am despite its supposed impossibility.

"It's quite a long walk from here" the man continues.

seeming to want to convince me to accept his help. Usually I'd be sceptical at the kindness shown but that is my cynical side showing so until I have a reason not to I'll trust this man. So I climb on next to him thanking him as I climb.

After the carriage started moving he said "What is your name, I can't continue to call you boy"

"It's Joe, Joe smith" I said to the man.

which he responded whilst holding his hand out "Tom Tellings, nice to meet you Joe"

I shook the now named man's hand and we continued our journey in relative quiet other than idle chatter, in which I questioned more about this world.

After prodding for basic information off tom, whilst trying my best not to sound like an outsider, I've discovered that I am in fact in danmachi. Whilst some people would celebrate this fact I find the news troubling.

Never before have I been in a fight and now to make a living I'll need to fight monsters.

After some time has passed I start to see orario, its massive tower standing at attention like a lighthouse guiding a lost ship, It was an unmissable beacon in the 

As I was admiring the majestic sight before me tom spoke "everyone react the same when they first see it" 

Still in awe I respond " it is incredible, how'd they even make that", to which Tom just shrugged.

As we were closing in on orario I needed to come up with a plan, I doubt i'll be able to make it home but i'll still keep an ear out for information regarding going home. Obviously i'll need to go to the dungeon to earn income, question is now which familia to join?

I doubt loki will accept my application, joining hestia seems far too troublesome. I'll need a reliable god that is helpful and kind if I want to be accepted as a newbie. What was that potion gods name again, miat? Miach? 

After reaching orarios entrance and going through this world's version of an airport check I split ways with Tom after getting directions to Miachs potion shop.

After reaching the shop I entered and looked around. The place looks fairly simple, almost barren, and eventually my eyes land on the woman behind the counter as she stares at me in awkward silence. 

After our impromptu staring contest i decided to speak first and say "hello, my name is Joe and I am hoping to meet Miach, is he in?"

She stared at me almost judgmentally the said sleepily "he's out back i'll get him" and proceeded to head outback

The first step to my plan of not dying horribly is looking like a good start, now what was step 2?
