Prologue: Mission Unknown (Part 2)
(Today, we meet Mono-Peko and the Monokubs, and we get some insight into how the KG works!)
When the 16 students got outside, they saw a red surface. As for their reactions, everyone was confused, to put it lightly.
Tanaka: (angry and confused at the same time) This isn't Earth!
Rantaro: (confused) What just happened?
Shuichi: (also confused) Where are we? What is this?
???: Rise and shine, ursine!
Five childish voices were heard suddenly, startling the sixteen students.
Soda: What were those voices?!?!
???: With our powers combined….
Suddenly, five bear cubs appeared. They all had pure white on one side and yellow pacifiers in their mouths. They were the same height. However, they were not entirely alike. They were different on the other side, and one had a robotic appearance while the other four had a plushie appearance.
???: We are the Monokubs!
???: Yes, my dear lovely children.
Another voice spoke, this time more quiet, soft, calm and… stoical, not childish.
Rantaro: There's a sixth one of them?
???: There is no 6th monokub. I'm the mother.
Suddenly, a section of a floor in front of the studento turned into a quick sand/mud style material, and a woman rose out of the material. Despite this, she wasn't dirty.
???: Talk about a dramatic entrance!
Rantaro: Oh god, she's speaking in the soft, calm, stoical voice again.
???: Oh, where are my manners? My name's Mono-Peko.
Nearly everyone was disturbed by the mere appearance of this uniquely named girl.
She was a tall, white girl who wore black glasses, from behind which she had red eyes. She wore your standard Japanese-style seifuku. However, this seifuku was split in half vertically. One half of her seifuku was pure white, and the other half was pure black. Her sailor collar was also split in half, one side being pure black and the other side being pure white. Her tie was blood red. As for her tights, one side was pure white and the other side was jet black. She wore black buckled shoes. Her hair was long and tied into two plaits. However, it was pure white on one side and jet black on the other side. She wore a white hairband with black ribbons on either side. The right side of her head was pinned with a blood red flower. She had a blood red armband on her left sleeve. At the back of her seifuku, she wore a flowing bow that was pure white on one side and jet black on the other side. She looked a mixture of elegant and threatening to put it lightly.
Shuichi: Who the hell are you?!
Mono-Peko: I already said my name but Monochrome Peko Pekoyama is my real name. I know it's a bit of a mouthful, so that's why I like it pronounced Mono-Peko. Or alternatively, Mono-Pekoyama.
Rantaro: But that still leaves no explanation for where we are.
Mono-Peko: I'll introduce my children, the Monokubs!
She indicated to a pink one who had dark pink vertical stripes, a pink ribbon on one ear, a pink frilly dress embroiled with light pink hearts, and a pink ribbon around her neck decorated with a flower shaped brooch.
Mono-Peko: Monophanie is so bubbly and positive. (Sighs) She looks up to me like an older sister of some sort, though I'm her mother really.
She then indicated to a red one who had a short black scarf with a silver star on one ear.
Mono-Peko: Monotaro is excitable, playful and he's very nice, though he gets sick at the sight of gore, violence and death.
She then indicated to three others.
Mono-Peko: Though Monodam is a shy pianist, he is always eager to please. Monosuke is a robot, and he just wants everything to be beautiful. And Monokid is very smart, and he's very arrogant.
Rantaro: Now, where are we?
Mono-Peko: This is the planet Mars!
Monotaro: Mars is named after the Roman god of war, Mars!
Mikan: Why did you bring us here!?
Mono-Peko: Only the Monokubs, me and the sixteen of you will be on this planet forever. However, you can leave, and it's gonna have to come at a cost.
Shuichi: What cost?
A horrible smile flickered across Mono-Pekoyama's face.
Mono-Peko: At least one life.
Rantaro: We need to kill to escape?!
Mono-Peko: I'll explain the rules. If someone kills a fellow classmate, they will become "the blackened." A special announcement plays if at least three people find a body. After that, an investigation will start. In an investigation, you need to find clues left behind by the killer. After this investigation, a station trial will begin! In these trials, you'll debate as to who the culprit is. If you get it right, then we'll get to my favorite part: the punishments! Punishments are a polite word for execution. Slish, slash! Torn apart like a paper plane in a hurricane! What sort of punishments will we get to see? I can't wait to find out! But if you fail to find the blackened, they get away scot free while everyone else will meet a fate that's rightfully theirs. The person who deceived you all will be allowed to leave the planet! This is the Killing Mars Life!

The students looked at each other in horror. What had once been curiosity had turned into fear. Fear that one of their friends could turn on them. Fear that they would not survive. Fear that might drive someone to spill someone's blood.
Actually, fear isn't the right word. The right word is… despair.
