2 The suicide

Celebration of a successful birth filled the air when Baby Damien was brought home from the hospital. Friends and foes were greeted with smiles and warmth from the Thorns. Today was a special day for Robert and his households. Apparently an heir to Robert's wealth is born and Robert will make sure with his life on the line to give Damien the love and protection he needed.

Katherine on the other hand wasn't left out on this. She attended to her child needs, despite the maids she had, she still hired a child's Nanny to attend to Damien's needs if she was away for any sort of business or two. Damien was treated like a king and watched like an egg even while still an infant and both parents made sure no harm comes their son's way.

Life took a huge turn around as Robert's career ascends over the course of five years. News has it that the Ambassador to the court of St. James in the united States met up with an accident with a fuel tanker vehicle while reaching home. Maybe the driver had been at fault though claims had not been made yet. The impact between the Ambassador convoy and the Tanker had cause a tear leaking fuel into where the Ambassador was seated. The Ambassador was unable to get out of his car as his doors were already jammed tight. Close by on the road, the remnants of a lit cigarette engulf the fuel into flams killing everyone in the convoy plus the Ambassador. It was a tragic time as many other lives was still involved in the accident. Few escaped by the skin of their teeth sustaining allot of injuries. Lives were lost too.

The president sympathize with with the family of the deceased victims caught in the fire. Among others who sustained injuries, the president took the privilege of paying for their medical bills and settling them too.

After the accident problem subsided, Robert Thorn was voted as the deputy Ambassador to the court of St James in the United Kingdom. Robert assume his position with dignity and decides to settle in a large estate with his family in London.

It was Damien 5th birthday, and the Thorns decided to make the birthday grand and fun for almost all the children. Whether invited or not, every child had fun and goodies to eat. Damien birthday party was next to an amusement park for children and their parents. There were bouncing castles, horse rides, pictures box, clowns performance and many more.

"Come on Damien, its time to blow the candles." Katherine told her five year old little chap. He looked his beat with his birthday outfit making him no different from the other kids, looking handsome in his shorts and shirt. She took Damien in her arms from his nanny. Both Damien, his parents, children and many more gathered round the cake waiting for Damien to blow the candles. They all sang a happy birthday song for him before he blew off the five colourful candles on his cake. Everyone clapped and pictures were taken. Damien nanny who had been closeby caught sight of an animal not too far but of the party. She look closely and recognized it as a rottweiler starring back at her.

Now everyone had their share of their own cake. Katherine carrying little Damien strode to her husband. Damien was given a piece of cake, but he wanted to share it with his dad.

"Have some cake daddy." Damien stretch his palm which held his cake to his dad. Robert took a bit with a smile.

Katherine took Damien to the horse carousel that had been built in the estate as present for Damien. other children taking turns had fun with the carousel too. His mum kept a close watch while Damien rode on it.

"Damien, look at me. Am over here." Everyone looked for whom own that voice. It was Damien nanny high at top the roof of the Thorns home. She had a robe around her neck. Fear grip Katherine for what she saw, she grabs Damien to her shoulder for safety. Damien nanny continue,

"Damien, I love you. Look at me Damien, its all for you." She jump from the roof with the robe still hanging at her throat. There she committed suicide. All the children except Damien scream in horror. Most of them scramble to their parents for safety. Katherine held on to Damien head to her shoulder, not wanting Damien to see his nanny hanged body.

"Get her down." Robert told his security guards. They all rushed to do as they were told.

Damien still at his mum's shoulder saw the rottweiler who in turn was looking at Damien. Damien smiled and waved his fingers at the animal. The rottweiler walked away.

Allot of persons kept watching the nanny while she was taken away by the medics into the ambulance. She had taken her life and there was nothing they could do. Pictures was taken the nanny was taken into the van. A juicy yet horror story will take the headline of all newspapers and be broadcasted in televisions and radios. It really was an horror, witnesses at Damien birthday party will never forget.
