My fellow tenth graders was happy to show their strength, i'm not an exception so we change our shoes and fill field B soon. When i was running toward field B, i overheard coach talking with sawamura preventing him to go.
'Kid, where are you going?'
'Where? To test my own abilities?'
'You don't have to participate. If you're bored, you can run'
I feel bad for sawamura but there's nothing i can do for him when coach insisted. Maybe i can try saying hello to sawamura later? I can heard his loud voice even with our current distance.
'Next, Fujikawa Mio'
'Here'
I take the ball and go to the mound and take a deep breath.
*heaveee hooo*
I try to relax my beating heart out of excitement and focus on the catcher.
'Hmmm? his aura changed' The catcher noticed how Mio focus his gaze and concentrated.
The catcher give a sign. Fastball! Mio nodded his head a make his windup.
'Oh he's a southpow?'
The catcher was shocked. A southpow was a rare pitcher because majority people was right handed. He stay calm even though he was shaken a little bit.
Mio let his blood, sweat and tears into this pitch. He throw it with his all.
*BOOM*
'....'
'W-what was that?'
The fast pitch caught the catcher off guard and suddenly the preperator, Mio got off from the mound and approach the catcher.
'Are you okay?' Even though the catcher can catch his pitch, his hand was shaking and Mio noticed this.
'I-i am okay just numb a little bit'
'Are you sure?'
'Yes..'
The surrounding was in shock even the coach and Sawamura little talk was interupted.
'Umpire i think he need a check-up in case or at least an ice' Mio talked to the umpire which the umpire agreed.
'I'm sorry that didn't take your condition into consideration' Mio bowed.
'It's okay, not your fault' The catcher was taken away.
