Just A Match

Scott's father, Robert Miles, was a luminary in the field of AI science. Much like his son, he bore a crown of curly hair, a trait that ran in the family. His love for his family was profound, transcending even his passion for artificial intelligence.

From a tender age, Scott had been exposed to the world of code and algorithms, thanks to his father's unwavering guidance. Robert had a gift for infusing warmth and humor into the most complex subjects, and he shared his passion with his son. Together, they explored the delicate dance between human innovation and digital consciousness.

Scott's dad died while working in his lab a radioactive explosion occured. But at the incident his dead body was not found which brought the forensics to the conclusion that the explosion was too strong that it turned his body to nothingness.

Nobody knew the cause of the explosion or what he was working on when it all happened but Scott could remember his dad taking a couple of data from his DNA a day before the incident. His death bore a hole in Mrs Paulina Miles and Scott's heart .These memories sometimes plays itself in Scott's dream.

Scott's eyes opened to another morning. The ambient lighting in his bedroom slowly transitioned from a soothing blue to a warm, energizing hue, simulating the rising sun. he asked his room "what's the time ZEED?". "6:24am" a voice answered from his room which was an home AI system he built himself.

"Good morning, Scott. Your schedule for today starts at 7am, you need to dress up for school" the system continued.

Scott has a curly hair with C-like strands that stood upon each other on his head, a trait which mirrored Robert's own. Hazel clear blue eyes, tall and lean, he always moves with a grace that belied his intense intellect.

As he approached the spacious, glass-enclosed shower, the house's AI, intoned, 'Your preferred shower settings are ready".

After his bath, he got dressed up in his uniform. He looks more sharp and handsome in his blue uniform and his glowing chest tag that reads "Scott. M". As he descended the sleek, curving staircase, he spotted his mother bustling about, preparing a hearty breakfast spread.

With a warm smile, he greeted her, "Good morning, Mom." She turned, her own smile reflecting the love between them.He glanced at the digital wall clock and then back at his mother, a touch of regret in his eyes.

" Mom? I'm running a bit late this morning. I'll have to skip breakfast today. Don't worry, I'll grab something on the way." He said has he took his bag and took out a ball with circuit lines all over the ball. His mother's expression shifted briefly, concern mixed with understanding. She knew the demands of her son and respected his determination to stay punctual.

"Alright, dear," she replied with a gentle nod, and unwavering love. "Just remember to eat something later. And have a great day at school."

"Ray!" Ray's Mom called from the kitchen downstairs. The house is a stunning display of minimalist luxury, featuring a stark palette of black and white. The blacks are mostly seen on the windows and doors. The result is a striking, modern masterpiece that combines opulence with simplicity.

"No Mom" Ray mumbled sleepily from his bed. He just twisted on the bed and was about to drown himself in his blanket when he suddenly felt a touch on his left foot, shocked he jolted on his bed and hit his head and surprised to see his robotic dog staring at his lazy master. "Ouch!, C'mon Champion, you scared me".

"Make sure he's awake" Ray's Mom sent a command to the dog from her watch. Ray was about to resume his dream from where he stopped until Champion pulled off his blanket off him from the bed with its mouth.

"Grrr, alright I'm AWAKE" frustrated Ray said as he got up from his bed. "You betrayed me, you're not eating for the month" Ray pointed and threatened the dog. "Forgot you don't eat" he whispered to himself.

"Morning Mom, morning Dad" Ray greeted as he went straight to the bathroom for his inevitable morning wash. Ray has a downy brown hair, he looked into the bathroom wide mirror as he brushes his teeth with the mirror reflecting his black eyes and tiny nose.

After minutes of singing (what I'll call shrieking) while taking his bath, he got dressed in his uniform and was ready for school and made his way to the dinning table for his breakfast. His dad, Mr Stephenson was busy with his glowing tablet while having sips of his morning coffee. "Morning, lil buddy" he said. "Mom, what are we having?" Ray asked. "The usual..." Mrs Stephenson answered. "Huh, no... when am I having my favorite?" Ray complained. "Untill you work on your maths" His dad cuts in before having another sip from his coffee. "Dad, I've been studying lately and I'm getting better and faster at my maths, I'm working on it, trust me" Ray said grinning as he consume his food. Almost finishing his food he stood up.

"I gotta go, Scott will be waiting already" Ray took his bag and unzip his backpack and took out a ball with circuit lines all around it as he made his way fo the door, "see ya".

Scott and Ray met on the path to school with backpacks slung over their shoulders, they chatted. "Don't wanna go to school, how about we skip today heh?" Ray said. Just a stare from Scott changed his mind. "Alright, I asked the wrong person, why would Scott skip school". "What's your current level in the game?" Scott asked. "Level 90, why'd you ask?" Ray replies. "90? I thought I was close to catching up, been working on martial art lately..still in level 79" "hahaha, you know you might be strong in the brain than I, but in fights and the game? I'm better..." Ray said proud of himself. "How about a quick match?" Annoyed Scott said. "Yeah sure, wait... what? I thought we're not to skip schools". "We're just skipping a class, I've got to show you what I got" Scott replied. "That's the spirit bro, let's go genius!" excitedly, Ray said.

With a flick of their wrists, they tossed the ball high into the air. As it soared upward, it began to transform, unfolding and extending into an impressive glider. Its wings stretched wide, catching the breeze effortlessly. They jumped a bit into the air and the glide came underneath their feet and they drove off to the game house.
