Bad luck

Having learned a lot of things today and having earned an enormous amount of NTCs during the night, Greem could not be happier.

However, Greem's good mood instantly plumetted upon hearing Professor Xanar's homework for next week's lesson: "I regret to inform you that I won't be able to teach you today as I have a meeting with esteemed colleagues in the afternoon, and unfortunately, I couldn't find a replacement at short notice. However, I have prepared a project for you to work on. Although I understand that none of you are experts in netrunning, it's still important to have a basic understanding of it. As you advance in rank, it's crucial to know how to explain your needs for cyber equipment so that your mechanic can maximize your potential as a warrior. Without clear communication, even the best mechanic won't be able to fully utilize your capabilities"

[Project Objective:

In this project, your task is to model a cyber equipment that is tailored to your individual fighting style. You will need to research and consider the different types of cyber equipment available and identify the one that best fits your style. Once you have identified the equipment, you will need to design a model of it, including its features, functions, and how it will enhance your fighting abilities.

Instructions:

1°) Research the different types of cyber equipment commonly used by netrunners.

Identify the equipment that best fits your individual fighting style. Consider the types of missions you undertake, your preferred fighting techniques, and your overall strengths and weaknesses.

2°) Design a model of your custom cyber equipment. This should include a detailed description of its features and functions, as well as how it will enhance your fighting abilities.

3°) Create a visual representation of your cyber equipment model using any software or tools that you prefer. You may include diagrams, schematics, or 3D models.

4°) Prepare a presentation explaining your cyber equipment model, its features, and how it will improve your fighting abilities.

5°) Present your cyber equipment model to the class and convince them why your model is the best.

Professor Xanar will judge each presentation and award 50 Knowledge points to the team that convinces him the most.

By completing this project, you will not only gain a deeper understanding of cyber equipment and netrunning basics but also learn to think creatively and strategically about how technology can be used to enhance your fighting abilities.

After finishhing reading the lecture's project, Greem's face was ugly.

Although he was pretty strong and reliable in practical combat, Greem possessed a terrible reputation with other students. He talked very little, and the few times he talked to others would be for insults. It must be said that he was not very social to begin with, and since others bullied him, he would ocasionally lose patience. This did not help his situation, to the point that his reputation reached -1230 within the school, which was only 770 points away from being 'hated'.

For his defence, the fact that he came from the lower districts did not help his situation, as he started at -500, but unlike others in his situation, he did not try to make friends, and stayed isolated, causing others to look down on him.

Greem did not fear the lecture. He possessed 16 points of intellect, which was on par with most rank 1 netrunners. Compared to the average of warriors which was around 8, he was pretty confident that he would be able to complete the assignment, even if he was alone.

The toughest part was finding partners.

Most people found a group within a couple of minutes.

Greem was not so lucky.

At the end, he looked at the list of people without any partners.

'Uh? Is it not...ironical?'

The list was very small: Isabella Corn, who was the only absent member today, and Irio, a delinquant noble with unsavory rumours about him. According to what Greem had heard, he had been caught in a shop in the lower districts that provided extreme sexual experiences in virtual reality. Although these were popular in the lower districts, they were completely taboo in the inner city of Night Town, and looked down on. After all, there had been research proving that such experiences would slowly ruin one's psyche, just like drugs.

Because of repeated incidents like this, Irio had been isolated.

Isabella, a woman who had come looking for drugs in the lower districts, a maniac and a poor teenager who was born in filth.

"What a team it is...", Gerard said while scorning at him.

Greem smiled inwardly. Just to anger Gerard, he would gladly win this project and reap those 50 knowledge points.
