Mei Tetsuo and Aito Shinji are polar opposites, she's arrogant and extroverted, he's cold and introverted. She has a perfect life, he has a life full of pain. Will they be a good match? Only time will tell.
"But Daddy!"
"No Mei."
"Daddy! You dare tell me no!?"
The man sighed and rubbed his head.
This was the fourth time his daughter pleaded with him. "Mei, we have to move back to Japan. Just try to work with me here."
"Just leave her here, Aki dear." The girl's mother smirked, then her lips turned into a mischievous grin, "She's old enough to be away from her mom and dad, don't you think?"
"Hm, I think you're right Mirai" The man turned away from his daughter "Mei, you want to stay in the states, right? If you don't want to come, then you don't have to." He said plainly, he looked back at her over his shoulder at her nonchalantly.
Mei stood there with her mouth wide open. "How could you say that daddy!" She shouted, when she didn't get a response from either of her parents she frowned and crossed her arms. "Fine. I'll go!"
"Yay!" Her mother squealed in joy and smiled brightly "Trust me honey you'll love it in Japan! The weather is better there than here. Aki dear, tell her!"
"Mei..." He started to speak but when he looked over at his daughter, she still had a deep frown on her face.
"Daddy this was my last year in school... and now you want me to leave everyone? You two are so cruel yknow... I should take back the gifts I got you!" Mei's face straightened but she still had her arms crossed and closed her eyes, turning her back slightly on them. After a moment she opened one eye to glance at her father and see his reaction.
Akihito frowned; he wished his daughter would just come along nicely. "You know we wouldn't take you out of school without good reason little dove. This year will be very important for the company, and we have a new partnership opening with the Honda family, you remember your friend Setsuya right?"
At this Mei quickly turned to her father and smiled widely "Setsuya? Why didn't you tell me sooner! Let's get going!" She grabbed her father's hands "When are we leaving? Why are we still standing here let's go already!" She couldn't contain her excitement, Setsuya was her best friend and the only girl that could ever have that honor. For being friends with Mei was indeed an honor.
In the past 3 years she didn't care to make friends in her school, she felt all the people attending the private school didn't deserve to even breathe the same air as her.
Mirai walked over to them and hugged them both and giggled "Ah I love you guys! Mei, me and your father will go finish collecting the paperwork from your school, you should give Setsuya a call and let her know the good news."
"Mom you're such a school-girl!" Mei rolled her eyes at her mom's giggle, pulling away from them she watched as her parents embraced each other, lovingly looking into each other's eyes. "Ugh get a room!" She sneered at them and walked away heading upstairs into her room.
They lived in a large modern 4 story home in the southern part of America, once she reached her spacious room she sighed. She wasn't usually bothered by sentimental things but for once she started to feel nervous. "Tsk. What am I even worrying about? No matter where I go, people have no choice but to fall in love with me." She said coolly as she walked over to examine herself in her full body mirror.
She was a bit short but had long toned legs, her eyes shifted to her chest, and she smirked, "Of course, I'm the perfect woman." Her figure was curvy and fit looking, the years of training and modeling had paid off. She got closer to the mirror and touched her face, smiling sensually at herself and blushing slightly, batting her long lashes "Surely no one would be able to resist me, right?" She pursed her full red lips.
Since her mother was African American and her father full Japanese, Hadia had a light brown complexion with auburn-colored eyes. She smirked and took a step back, pushing her long curly hair out of her face. 'Guess I should get my hair done again soon.' She thought, she walked over to her phone and laid back on her bed. She scrolled through various apps until she settled on looking for Setsuya's number and calling her.
Ring, Ring.
As she waited for her friend to answer she sighed and closed her eyes. 'I wonder if I'll have someone to look at me the way dad looks at mom.' Before she could get too lost in her thoughts, she heard Setsuya's high voice through the phone.
"Mei-Chan! It's so good to hear from you!" She chirped happily
"Setsuya! I have new for you." Hadia grinned and sat up
"Tell me, tell me!"
"You should prepare yourself and those around you! I, the amazing Mei will be blessing you all with my presence soon." She heard Setsuya giggle.
"Mei-Chan! You're coming to visit?"
"Not just visit, I'm going to be staying there for some time." The excitement started to fade from her voice, she pouted again "My parents dare to drag me out of school here in my last year!"
"Aw Mei-Chan, don't worry, I'm sure you'll love it here. Plus, you wouldn't miss out on a chance to see me, your beloved Setsu, right?"
Mei smiled again and laughed "Of course not Setsu, I also know that you've missed seeing me, or have you forgotten me already?"
"Of course, not my Mei-Chan" Setsuya's voice rang sensually causing Mei to blush slightly.
"Better not flirt with me unless you're prepared to have my name tattooed across your forehead and you're on your knees begging for my undying love!" She threatened jokingly
Setsuya laughed "I'm glad you haven't changed; I'd be so sad if my Mei-Chan wasn't so self-confident." She paused for a moment "So when are you coming?"
Mei sighed "I'm not sure, my parents have to take care of a few more things before we come." Just then her voice picked up and a mischievous smirk crossed her face "Actually I don't think I'll tell you when we are coming, I'll just arrive in a spectacular fashion and steal the hearts of everyone there."
Setsuya laughed again "I'm sure you will! I guess I'll have no choice but to snatch you away and lock you in my room."
"Setsu! You'd dare do that?" Mei pouted, Setsuya was the only one who could warrant this kind of reaction from her. Normally she would behave completely different around others. In her school people gossiped and called her arrogant and stuck up. How was she at fault if she was created perfectly? How was she at fault if she was the most beautiful and most intelligent person alive?
Setsuya suddenly yawned "Mei-Chan, would you allow me to get some more sleep? It's late here and I don't want to be late for my classes tomorrow."
"Hmmm... Should I?"
"Mei-Chan, do you want me to really tie you up in my basement when you get here?" The girl threatened playfully
"How could you!" Mei blushed profusely, how come she always felt so flustered talking with this girl. "Get out of here! Get off my phone and when I get there, I'll make you beg at my feet before I speak to you!"
Setsuya laughed at the flustered girl "Goodbye Mei-chan." She made a kiss noise through the phone before hanging up.
Mei sighed once again before tossing her phone on the bed. She sat on her bed and looked at her hands for a moment before bringing them to her chest. She wasn't usually the type to be sentimental, so why is she feeling like this now?
'Oh well.' She sighed, just then she heard a knock on her door "Come in."
A maid slowly appeared in her room and bowed to her "Ma'am, your father and mother have left, but they asked me to let you know that we should start packing. You will be leaving in two days."
Mei nodded at her in response and got up from her bed "Alright, I'll gather a few things and leave the rest to you."
"Yes Ma'am" The maid said, leaving the room once again.
Mei turned and headed to her desk, as she sat down, she opened a drawer and pulled out a small rock. 'Why am I so sentimental today? Is it because I might see you again?' She thought to herself, looking at the rock she turned it in her hands, it was smooth and had many different colors on it. 'Maybe I will see you again.' Her lips turned up in a small smile.
These moments were rare. She usually didn't care about things people gave her. She could get whatever she wanted from her parents, and if not from them all she had to do was flaunt her beauty and people would just give her things. She never had to beg or work hard for anything. Even her teachers would sometimes just give her high scores, but she knew she was smart anyways because she would be top of her class most times so it didn't really affect her like it would someone who only had looks to offer.
She turned the rock over in her hand and touched the painted initial on the back A.S. as she looked at the small letters her smile grew and she closed her eyes, holding the rock to her chest.
'I will I'll see you again.'
