Hunting

By the time we'd gotten back to the inn, we were all pretty tired. We sat in a room as I let both Xan and Will's teeth sink into both sides of my neck, sinking in so painlessly that you would wonder if they were mosquitos. As they continued draining me of my life's essence, their faces morphed into the attack pugs as they closed their eyes and relished in the feeling of a full stomach. It always left me drained and tired afterwards. Some nights, I would just curl up into a shivering ball, cold sweats ailing me as I let my body replenish itself through the night. It was my responsibility and so no matter how tired it left me, no matter how sick I felt inside, I would do it again and again because I had brought them back and it was my job to make sure that they were alright. Plus, they were the fam and I'd do anything for the fam, even put on a pink fluffy dress and prance around like a little princess. Both I and Batsy hated bright colors. We had a more refined taste, black, black and fucking black. Maybe navy blue on an occasion. It kept us hidden, protected. It made it easier to enter into the shadows, to watch, to learn and to inevitably take down any threat that deigned to look in our direction.

Once we found a house, we would deal with the whole blood situation. I know that Spike had taken pigs blood from the butcher's shop and I was thinking that maybe I could come to some type of deal with the butcher or just hunt my own animals. I did like to cook and Xan and Wills did need to feed, no matter how much they hated it.

Their teeth popped out of my neck. A look of euphoria, lining their faces. My blood must have been the bomb from the looks of post nut clarity on both Xan and Wills face. Could their smiles not get any wider?

I stared. Huh. Their smiles were growing. They were getting to the Joker's territory with the way their smile curved. Their eyes rolled backwards as their fingers bent and they fell to the ground.

I stood up off the chair I'd been sitting on and almost fell to the ground. Buffs who'd been looking ran up to help me as I wobbled on. My face looked drained. My shirt drenched in sweat and my breath heavy.

She stared at me. Her brows facing downward. Her eyes darkened. The hand not supporting me was in between her lips.

"You need to stop."

I nod. I needed to. If a vamp came out of the door right now, I would have potentially died and seeing as this was a fucking motel that anyone could stay at. The chances were high that we would meet many vamps.

But, I knew she wasn't saying that for those reasons. She was saying it because she never did like seeing me this way. So weak, so fallible when I was normally so infallible. It seemed that even the slightest tap could floor me and it probably could. Feeding two powerful vamps was not an easy thing to do especially when one of them was a witch and both being a witch and being a vamp to energy, a lot of fucking energy. I thank Xan everyday for not ever inquiring about magic even after I had asked him.

We'd been chilling in Mr. Fluties office. Not that Mr. Flutie had even been alive in the wishverse. From what Xan and Wills told me, he was one of the first people the Master had killed once he had been brought back. They'd said that the Master hated teachers. They gave knowledge to the unknowing and what was worse than a normal human? A knowledgeable one.

Knowledge was what enabled humans to beat the vamps. Knowledge was what allowed humans to erect tall buildings and monuments. Knowledge was what enabled humans to win wars. Knowledge was power and the Master knew this all too well.

I looked at Xan as he spun around on the Principal's leather chair. He looked giddy like a kid in a candy shop and I couldn't help but smile. It was nice to see him relax like this. It had been a while since that smile had cropped up on his moody face.

He still wore the goth clothing though. The leather jacket, white t-shirt and Leather pants. He looked cool as fuck but that wasn't him. He knew it. I knew it. Wills knew it. It represented the vampire. Something that he might never escape from seeing that even with a soul, he still was one.

I snapped my fingers and his chair twisted to my direction.

"Pretty cool trick," He smirked.

I smiled.

"Wanna learn it?"

I had wanted to teach Xan magic for a while now. Wills was coming along pretty well on the magic thing and I wanted Xan to learn it too. I had remembered a scene where Xan said a few words and then, abracadabra, a book was set on fire. That was not normal. In fact, that was far out of the norm.

If it had been the norm then it would mean that anyone who could speak a lick of latin would be summoning water from thin air or cursing others by mistake. That did not happen and so, it just showcased how subconsciously attuned he might've been with magic. Though, it could have also been a fluke. The words that he had uttered might have held all the power.

Giles had many obscure texts. Some were so obscure that they might murder the reader on the first read if they weren't prepared. Luckily, I had Batman's memories in my mind and so, I was always prepared, always ready. I slept so light that even a slight change in the wind's tune woke me. It was grating at times but it meant that no matter what, I was ready. I could protect the people that I cared about and that no threat would ever catch me unaware again and in my books, that was a really cool fucking thing.

I looked into Xan's eyes but he looked down. He began twiddling his thumbs in that anxious way that children usually did when they had gotten in trouble or their moms were glaring at them. Was he afraid of magic?

"You don't have to learn it if you don't want to."

And it was true. They did not have to do anything that they did not want to. I was very big on free will and one of the tenants of that was give options with no consequences. Life would already give consequences to their actions.

Like say, if Xan didn't learn magic and I and Wills were out of commission due to something magical. He would probably feel useless because I had given him the option and he had said no because of whatever belief he had at the time, foolish or not.

I would not pressure him though. He was the fam and if Xan did not want to learn magic then Xan would not learn magic.

He finally looked up at me.

"I don't want to be more of a monster than I already am."

"You are not a mons-"

"I know!" He screeched, "I know that I'm not a monster, that Wills isn't a monster too. But I'm already so far from being human. I-I just want to hold whatever humanity I have left."

Oh. He was human alright. Foolish, dumb, brave and afraid. All human qualities that the greats had. He wasn't afraid to talk back to authorities when it came to him friends. He wasn't afraid to glare when Wills was sad and he had the humility to say that I don't want more power because I fear what it'll make of me. A useless fear as because of this fear, he would never become a monster, but a fear it still was and so it warranted understanding.

I look at him, in his toffee colored eyes and nod.

"Alright."

Now we are here in my inn room as Xander gazes at me with darkened eyes, looking at the weak state he's left me in.

I stumble over to him and pat his shoulder in a stoic attempt to say, "It's alright." It didn't look to be working but, I knew that nothing I said would change his mind. He was just wired like that and the fact that he found euphoria in feeding did not help either. It probably made him feel like a bigger monster than he already perceived himself to be.

Wills on the other hand said an incantation and I began feeling better. My body began feeling replenished and I tried to remove Buffs's hands from my torso but she just gripped me tighter. I've said this before and I'll say it again, Slayer strength was no motherfucking joke.

I looked at Xan and Wills.

"Once we get a house, we can start looking for blood alternatives."

They nod.

"I'm pretty tired, so I'm just going to sleep. You guys can let yourselves out."

Xan grimaces as does Wills.

Buffs helps me to the bed and I close my eyes and let my dreams take me.

Let mE OUt. hAaHAhaa.

That ominous laugh. It had haunted me while I was awake and even in my sleep I wasn't allowed recluse from it.

I turned to see a Batman with a metal spike band protruding from its head and a very pale face. Blood covered its mouth in an exaggerated smile as it just stared at me with glee.

I tried to run but it would always just stare at me, with that same smiling face.

Another figure showed up.

'Don't let him win.'

That voice. The one that I had heard when I had almost broken. It stood in front of me, obscuring the man who laughs's face.

yOu'LL NEvEr eScApe.

The normal batman turned to me and smiled, a reassuring smile..

'Let me handle this.'

I watched as both of them fought.

Jab. Dodge. Uppercut.

It was seamless. Batman versus his Joker variant. Batman went in for a heel kick only to be kneed in the balls. I had thought Batman would fall to the ground but he just stood there, unflinchingly and elbowed the man who laughs. A sickening crunch was heard along with a crazed laughter. The man who laughs headbutted Batman and Batman punched him in the ribs another crunch was heard. Blood fell from both of their lips as they glared at one another and they began circling. The man who laughs went for a leg sweep. Batman jumped up dodging and brought his knee up while grabbing the back of the man who laughs's head and kneeing him right in the nose. Crunch! Batman did not stop there though. He tackled the man who laughs to the ground and proceeded to choke it and twist his head.

This wasn't what Batman did. He had a no kill rule.

I stared at him.

"Why?"

'This isn't real.'

Oh. That was true. It was all in my mind so he wouldn't really be murdering anyone would he.

The man who laughs did just that as blood spluttered out of his mouth.

i'Ll bE BaCk.

I heard a click and I opened my eyes to see three vamps staring hornily at my peacefully sleeping girlfriend.

One was about to bite into her fucking neck. I glare at them, releasing Bat-intimidation at full force. I was tired, confused, and angry. I DID NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH THEM RIGHT NOW.

"Fuck off or die," I glare.

One of them looked at me and laughed.

"Pfft. You? Kill us?"

A moment later, a wood-arang had already found its way into the upper right corner of its chest and it was dead.

The other two rushed to me and so I knocked one out with a karate chop to the neck and stabbed another in the eye. It screamed and fell to the ground. I stood up, making sure to put all of my weight on its leg. Crack!

I stare at it in its eerily yellow eyes. While taking out another wood-arang this time doused with holy water.

"I know thousands of ways to inflict hurt upon a person. While you might not be a person, you still have the same veins, same pain receptors and a weakness to holy icons and holy water that humans do not have. You've pissed me the fuck off and so I'm about to inflict on you a pain that you had probably thought you wouldn't feel ever demon. I am not the fucking slayer. If you fuck with me and mine then there will be suffering."

I began dragging my wood-arang across his body. Each movement makes it release a scream of pain. A cut off his finger. It began healing albeit slowly.

"Hmm…Let's see."

I got out a bottle full of holy water and poured it over the wound. It stopped healing.

I chuckled.

"I think you are the first disabled vampire. No. That would be Kakistos wouldn't it."

"Kill me."

"Ok."

I nod and pour holy water into its mouth. The thing's throat burns away as the water falls through its throat slowly disintegrating it to nothingness. I had made it fallible. In its last moments, it looked almost human while I looked like a monster.

You do no fuck with those I care about. That thing had been the first and would probably not be the last.

I looked down at the other vamp and got the rope from Giles's own kidnapping and tied it to the chair. I needed some information out of the bloody thing's mouth and so for now, it got to see another day. Whether that was a blessing or a curse. I did not know.

I turned back to see Buffs still asleep and even snoring. Didn't slayers have vamp sense? Oh right, being in a hellmouth made things all wonky. I just sighed and removed that one wide strand of hair that was making her face twitch.

She seemed so peaceful right now. I would let her rest. I went to our shitty motel bathroom, scrunched up a lot of toilet paper and stuck it in the creature's mouth. I made sure to douse the ropes in holy water and then lock back our door.

I brought out another chair and sat waiting for both Buffs and the vamp to awaken.

As I did, I stared into the darkness praying that it would not keep staring back. I stared at the ethereal light coming out of the moon and again, I wished to touch it. As even the remnants of the sun were a beacon of hope as it too was a guiding light that I hoped would guide me on my path to saving the world.

By the time Buffs woke up, the vamp had been thrashing around and trying to escape its holding. There was a burnt smell in the air.

I watched as she shuffled around in the bed, slightly dazed.

"Mmm."

"Good morning, Beautiful," I smile.

She turns to me, eyes widening as she gets out Mr.Pointy to stab the vamp.

"Why haven't you dusted it?"

"I need some information."

"What info?"

"Where its lair is at. Some vamps live in mansions and if we can clear the place, we could have some free digs."

The Vamp looks at me with wide eyes. Fear crossing its face.

Buffs nodded.

"So…why haven't you done that?"

"Three of em' came in while we were sleeping. One almost bit you. I wanted them to suffer a teensy bit before I sent them away."

She just stared at me.

"Why didn't you wake me up?"

"Yesterday had been a tiring day."

"Still. After Xan and Wills…"

"I'm good. See."

I point at the tied up vamp with burn marks on it body.

"Did you burn it?"

I shook my head.

"Holy water."

She nods.

"Okay, let's get this over with."

I get out a knife and slice off the vamp's two canines before pulling out the tissue paper. I had declawed the bitch.

Its face went into attack pug mode and I smiled, a crazed smile. It quickly went back to its human one.

"Who's a good boy? You are."

I patted his head.

Buffs just looked at me weirdly. She stepped up.

"Where is your lair?"

He didn't answer.

I popped out a wood-arang and dipped it in holy water before stabbing it into its right shoulder.

"Aaaargh," It screamed.

I just apathetically glared into its eyes. To me it was nothing more than a wild animal that needed to be put down.

"K-k-kill me," It begged.

Buffs looked unsettled at a vampire begging. It made them feel too human. Bats had faced many humans and had already quenched this feeling. I had inherited that.

"Only after you tell us," I smile.

It nodded.

"Its at XXXX on XXXX drive."

I smile.

"Thanks."

I stabbed it in the heart and it was gone.

I looked at Buffs.

"Are you alright?"

She looks at me.

"I-I'm fine. It is just that…"

I got it. Torture was never fun. It wasn't good but when fighting against foes that would do ten times worse to you, Batman had to allow for some leeway in how he handled things. If intimidation didn't work, then torture would.

I had seen how many things went wrong because a younger Batman tried to do the right thing without understanding the depths you needed to go to when a society was so corrupt that demons were able to walk even in the moon's luminescence.

I was glad that the worst thing the Buffyverse had in human form was fucking Warren as while he would be a problem, I had batman's intellect. Anything he could do, I could do better and so what did I truly have to fear from him?

She looked at me.

"Are you okay?"

"An evil version of Batman entered my dreams. A good version fought it and beat it but it is still there, still waiting for me to break. It shook me."

I wouldn't hide anything from her or anyone I loved. If she wanted to be with me then I'd show her my everything and hope that she'd show me hers. That was what love was to me. No barriers. No falsehoods. No lies. Only stark cold truths that allowed two people to fully understand one another. Love was a freeing burden.

As I gazed into Buffs's beautiful thunder clouds, I saw no fear, only pain at the fact that I had to go through that.

She hugs me and I again cry.

"They could have killed you," I whisper.

"They didn't."

That was true. They did not kill her. She was alive and in this room as I placed my head on her chest listening to the drummings of her heart.

DUN DUN

DUN DUN

I really loved this girl. We just lay there for a while until someone knocked on the door.

I whimpered sadly as I left my warm hearth and I slumped to the door.

I opened it to see Xan's goofy face. He looked into my tired eyes, eyes squinting.

"What happened?"

"Vamps. Dress up, we are going to get ourselves a new house."

He nods.

"Fina-Fucking-Ly," He shouted.

I don't know how he mixed thsoe two words but he did. Xan things. For the man nicknamed after a drug. No wonder he always made me laugh. He was the chill pill to my brooding darkness.

I close the door and look at Buffs. I kissed her on her pouting lips.

"We should probably get dressed too."

She nods and soon we find ourselves waddling through the expensive part of sunnydale. The part where the Chase's and other influential figures lived.

We kept on driving until we saw the number thirty-two c. It was a two story house. We definitely needed the space.

Wills had been nice enough to call a real estate agent before we had even started driving. It was dirt cheap. We bought it for ten thousand dollars. They said it was because of a critter problem. We knew better.

Willow had run off in a glamor and dropped off the cash, returning with the deed. We gazed at our beautiful property.

I looked at the gang.

"You guys ready."

"I was ready two days ago when a cockroach jumped on my body in betwe-Aaargh," Xan screamed.

Wills had elbowed him in the ribs.

"Sorry about him. But I'm also ready."

Buffs was already out of the car. I followed quickly after her.

I pulled out an ak outfitted with wooden ammo. It had taken a while to make but when you were in the wishverse and board, things that distract you become needed. Making wooden bullets was one of em'.

It wasn't hard. They'd already been done. German troops used them in the second world war when they were running low. I just had to make them armor piercings. That took the right wood and carving technique. I managed to do it by the end.

"Xan, Wills, you guys go in first. Buff!"

I pass her the two orbs of nezzla'khan. I should probably get the second pair too.

"You're now invincible to physical damage as long as they don't break."

She stuffs them in her pocket and nods in gratitude.

She follows in after Xan and Wills.

I decided to go in from the back. I run to the backdoor, break it down. As I enter, I see a kitchen and five sleeping vamps. I aim at their hearts and shout.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

They're now all dead. One comes in through a door. I shoot it in the chest. Another one comes in. I shoot it. One rushes in and I shoot it. There is so much dust in the air. It gets into my eyes. Three more enter into the room and rush me. I shoot one while I get out a wood-arang and stab another in the chest. The last one hits me against the wall and tries to rush me. I dodged by a hair's breadth falling onto the ground. I look up as it looks dazed from having hit its head and the wall and I shoot it in the chest from underneath it.

Bang!

It was dead.

A few more come in but I easily dispatch them. Soon I hear no more noises except three sets of footsteps.

They enter the kitchen and see me panting on the floor. I look up.

"You done?"

"Course," Buffs smiles.

She flexes her muscles.

"How many?"

"Five," She answered.

"I got ten," I smirk.

"I'll get you next time."

I smile, putting away the ak.

One jumps out from behind the door. Buffs turns and stabs it.

"That's six. Four more to go."

I let out a sigh of relief. I knew she had the orbs but still.

I get off of the ground and pass Buffs and Xan a broom.

"Let's clean up."

Buffs grumbled as did Xan until Wills pout glared at him. Wills was too cute to glare.

I just smirked and walked to the door.

"Where are you going?"

"To get you guys some blood. Buffs?"

She passed Wills the broom and followed me into the car.

I drove over to the butcher and while the man did look at me a bit weirdly, I managed to get the blood needed. I had gotten a bucket of cow's blood because I was not about to feed my friends the blood of a pig. I didn't hate them in the way that Giles hated Spike and Angel.

Buffs and I entered out cool as fuck mustang and she stared at me.

"Could we make a stop?"

I nodded.

"Where do you want to go?"

"I just want to drop off our new address at my mom's place."

I nod.

We drive over to the Summer's house in our glamors and knock.

Joyce opens the door and Buffs hugs her.

Joyce looks confused.

"Um…Strange lady, could you let go of me please?"

I snapped my fingers and Buffs's glamor shimmered away.

Joyce looked shocked.

"Hey mom."

Joyce smiled.

"Come in."

We walk in and she directs us towards her couch. It felt as if the clouds themselves were cushioning my buttcheeks.

"Just wait a moment."

Joyce went to the kitchen and got us two cups of hot cocoa with the itty-bitty marshmallows on top. I smiled.

"Thanks," Buffs smiled, "I missed this."

Another set of tears were threatening to poke out of her eyes.

Joyce just smiled sadly at her daughter. It must have been hard.

"So…"

Buffs passes her a note.

"This is our new address. Also, how's the whole cancer thing?"

Joyce looked at the both of us.

"It's going well. Thankfully they caught it early and so everything should be just- fine."

"Check for high blood pressure too. You died of an aneurysm in this world. I don't want to see you go again. It would make Buffs sad and it would make me sad that a good mother is gone before her child's all grown up."

I had whispered the last part but Joyce still heard me loud and clear.

"Thanks for taking care of my daughter."

I nod, sipping more of the hot chocolate. It was so warm, so nice. It made me miss my own mother.

"So…how did you two meet?"

Me and Buffs looked at each other. I turn to Mrs. Summers.

"I was sent to another reality by an assholic power as it was about to crumble, pardon my language. I froze time for a year. No, I can not do it again. I unfroze your daughter and Xan and Wills and brought them to this one."

Joyce looked down, seemingly processing everything that she had heard.

"D-did you plan t-"

"I didn't plan to date your daughter. She asked me out. I liked her and now love her. That's all there is to it."

Joyce smiles as does Buffs.

"Good."

She looks Buffs in the eyes,

"You've found a good one. Why can't my other daug-"

We see someone entering through the back.

"Hey, Mrs. J, you won't believe the day that I had…"

I knew that voice. It was Xan's.

He stops and stares.

"Buff? Shouldn't you be slaying right now? And who's he?"

I look at Buffs. She looks at me.

We both slowly walk up to Xander Harris the human. He gulps and takes a step back. We charge and hold him down.

"I'm sorry about this."

I find a rag on the table and put it in his mouth so that he can't scream.

Joyce looks at Xander as we bring him to a chair and tie him up. There was a rope in the back of our boot.

"Calm down," Joyce says.

He nods.

"Will you not scream if I remove the rag?"

He nods again. I remove the rag.

"Aaargh. Help!"

"Xander!" Joyce screeches.

He quickly quietens down.

"Who are you people? What have you done with Buffy?"

"We've done nothing to her," I replied.

"Then wh-"

Buffs interjects, tired of the bullshit.

"Due to you cheating on your girlfriend Cordelia Chase, she made a wish that I never came to Sunnydale which almost destroyed this place. Giles found out about the wish and reversed everything, destroying that reality. He helped me, you and Wills escape. So realistically, all of this is your fault."

Xan winced as he looked up at me.

He nodded.

"Why are you here?"

"Give me a sec."

I got out a knife and began inscribing the protection runes on Xander's body. He groaned.

"What are you doing to me?"

Joyce gave him a warm smile and he quietened down. I soon finished.

"This'll hide you from the men upstairs."

He looked at me as if I was crazy.

"And why would I want to hide from them?"

"Because, they control your fate and now, they can't. Also, cameras and mystics won't be able to find you. The only way to see you is to look at you and if they can't find you, you'll be less of a burden to the slayer."

He smiled at that.

"So, I'm free?"

I smirk, nodding my head.

"First, I stop the school from exploding because of dropout zombie and now I'm saying fuck you to fate. What's next? Other me turns out to be a vampire."

Nobody laughs.

"..."

"Please don't tell me that I became a vampire."

"Then we won't tell you," Buffy smirks.

I snort.

"He has a soul," I say.

"Oh great, now I'm like deadboy. DeadXan?" He entered into thought, "Don't let him have s-"

"I fixed that particular issue already. Let's just say he and Vamp Wills have been having a lot of…fun."

Xan looks at me with wide eyes.

"Will is a vamp too and we're dating?"

I nod.

"They are practically human. They can even walk in the sun. Let me just call them over now."

I got out my new nokia 1011. One of the vamps that I'd dusted had the phone and I had gotten the house number along with the deed. I called them and in a flash, they were here.

Vamp speed was such a cheat.

They knocked and Joyce let them in.

They waved at Xan.

"Hey, other me."

"What's up, dead me."

They smirked, mischief crossing each other's eyes.

They both jumped up at the same time and pointed at each other.

"We're the X-men."

That joke was corny as fuck. But they laughed anyways so I guess it was cool.

Xander looked at my Xan seriously.

"How?"

"The Master's how. Without Buffs to kill it, it took over the town. It used me and Wills to do its bidding. It made us do…things."

My Xan stared into space and as I was about to speak, Other Xander spoke.

"You're free man. Stop acting so goth X. I don't want to see a version of myself that is such a crybaby."

My Xan chuckled.

"Says the donut man."

"How do y-"

"I'm Batman."

"Really?"

Everyone nods.

"I have all his memories. I know that right now, your group doesn't want you in the slaying and I know you won't stop fighting. I could train you."

He goes into thought for a bit before nodding.

"Ok. When do we start?"

Joyce brought some extra cups of hot cocoa for the rest of us.

"Probably tomorrow. Come to me after school. Here's my address. Giles is aware of us. Just don't tell Buffy and Willow yet. Buffy is kind of on her solo slayer shit and Wills doesn't know how to keep her mouth shut."

"Hey," Wills whines.

Vamp Xan looks at Wills hornily.

"What? Its true."

She giggles awkwardly.

He nods and we here a door open. I snap my fingers and me and my group disappear into the car. Magic. Kinda cool.

We watch from the car as other Buffs arrive and other Xan and Joyce look around confused. Abracadabra bitch.

It's now dark out and so I put on a glamor that obscures faces and look at the rest of my group.

"Who wants to go hunting."

No one answered then Xan shot up his hands.

"Meeeeeee."

I chuckled as Wills slapped her forehead.

I drive us to one of the graveyards. We get out just in time to see two vamps escaping their graves. I look at Buff.

"You want it?"

She nods, running up to the first one and stabbing it in the heart before throwing the stake and impaling the other vamp.

I smiled. My girlfriend was fucking cool. Another one came out of nowhere and I used magic to telekinetically hold it. I walked up to it and stabbed it in its dead heart.

I closed my eyes in prayer. I hoped that the soul freed was in peace as I hoped with every single vamp that I dispatched.

It was never nice to have your body stolen, twisted and used. While I couldn't stop vampires from being created. I could end them. Mercy killing they called it. This way, they would get grace.

It hadn't been a bad day. I had met the zeppo, hung out with my girl and her mom. We got a nice digs and I had a new protege to train. That would be fun.

It felt like things were finally moving again. Things were literally moving right now but it felt like I was moving.

I looked at my beautiful girlfriend and my two friends who were right now mauling a vampire and smiled. What more could a man wish for?

We'd soon cleared out the area.

"Let's go," Buffs smiles.

We nod and walk back to the car.

(One day later)

It was 4 pm and the gang had apparently said Xan for some donuts or so he'd said. He'd waddled himself over to my large house and rang the doorbell.

I'd looked up from my book on norse runes. They're really interesting. They allowed for empowerments of sorts and could make you and your weaponry powerful. I was sure that once I'd finished, I could supe up myself and finally break into the superhuman category.

I walked to the door, stepping on our new mahogany flooring. No creaks. Great.

I opened it and Xan walked in.

"I'm ready for training."

I nod.

"Good. Follow me."

There was a large basement with a mat and a washing machine to the side. I'd moved the washing machine upstairs the day before and began converting it into a cave of sorts. I'd brought the desktop down and had also added a large desk. On the other half of the room there was a mat for sparring along with a punching back and a wooden dummy that I'd taken from the wishverse.

Xander Harris looks in awe.

"Ok. Let's see what you've got. Attack me."

He runs in with a very obvious hook and I dodge it and trip him up. He gets up and goes in for a tackle but I knew him in the shoulder. He grunts and drops to the ground before getting up and going for a gut punch. I dodge and lightly hit him in the face. He stands up again but I place my hand up.

"Obvious right, No defense, but you've got tenacity. You got up. You didn't give up. That I can work with. Let's start this again."

He attacks. I dodge and aim at his gut. He steps back.

"Good."

I run in and he headbutts me.

"Smart."

I'm unfazed. I kick his leg and he stays standing and hits me in the liver. We continue like this for a while until he's panting like a dog and his shirts drenched.

I give him my hand. He takes it.

"Good job today."

He just looks at me, questioning whether I'm serious or not.

"I did nothing to you."

Xander grits his teeth.

"That's because I'm Batman. Trust me, you're improving."

He nods.

"You hungry?"

Drool escapes his mouth. I sighed. All Xander's were the fucking same. Mopey little bastards with dopey smiles.

We walk up the stairs and I move to the kitchen.

"Could you go up and call the rest of em'?"

He nods and goes to do his task.

I began making some macaroni and cheese, soul food style. It does not matter the color of your skin, if your food doesn't have any spice other than salt and pepper then I do not want to be eating at your house.

Everyone soon comes down and I bring the pot to the kitchen table. I begin serving everyone.

We sit down and begin eating. This is nice.

"So Wills, what's it like being a vamp," Other Xan asks.

Wills thinks.

"Its kinda sad."

Awkward.

"My body got stolen by a demon and when I returned, I had these memories of what the monster had done. I became a creature of the night. Now though, its alright. I have you- other you and Buffs and Andrew and I can also look at the sun. We're like a weird little family y'know. My human life wasn't even that great anyways," She chuckled, "My parents always psychoanalyzed me pushing me to perfection. It was tiring. I'm sure that this Willow is still suffering now."

Vamp Xan looked at Wills.

"Its the same for me, My dad was an abusive drunk and now I've got you guys."

He looks at each and everyone of us.

"...You all make me better."

Other Xan smiles at that.

"Let's eat."

They all nod and we dig into our food.

We soon finish and Other Xan perks up.

"Its getting late. I should probably…"

Vamp Xan looks at other Xan.

"Stay."

"What?"

"If your parents are like the ones in my universe then stay. You can try and hide it from everyone else, the scars, but you can't hide it from yourself and unluckily for you, I'm you."

Other Xan nods. We really need new names for ourselves.

"I'm fi-"

"Should I call Mrs. Summers?" Wills inquires.

Other Xan glares but Wills doesn't back down.

"Fine."

We all nod.

"Room at the end of the hallway."

He nods and walks to it before stopping and turning. He looks at vamp Xan.

"Thanks."
