Terraform

Terraform's description was vague, but any person that was smart enough should know obvious limits. The first was the land itself. Obviously, I could only use what was on the land, so the next day, I purchased 10 tons of metal and 5 tons of logs.

The second limit was I could obviously not make something impossible like a floating island or upside-down pyramid. That also means that I need to set up a very sturdy foundation.

The last issue would be any unseen problems underneath the land. There could be a giant cavern, or an unknown graveyard buried here. That would cause a lot of issues going forward, so before I try anything, I need to check.

"Are you sure this is safe master?" Velris watched in concern as I stabbed a sword into the ground.

"I'm just going to check," I stepped on the hilt of the sword.

Aura rush always began with powerful step forward, and with my foot currently placed on top of the sword...

"Aura rush!"

My foot slammed down on the sword, shooting deep into the ground, while I was a launched a few meters towards the direction I was facing. Running back to my original spot, I found a hole around half a meter radius wide. The good news was that there was nothing but packed land.

The bad news...

[A trace of corrupted energy has been discovered]

"Is there some kind of graveyard under there?"

[The Demented mine has been discovered]

"What is it master?"

Velris had already been used to me seemingly talking to myself while replying to the system. Though, she managed to pin it to the fact that whenever it happened, it meant I discovered something new or something good happened.

"There's a cursed mine down there somewhere."

"That's amazing master! With your ability, a curse is nothing!"

"How'd you know I had an ability to counter curses?"

Velris looked at me like I was stupid. "You removed the curse placed on me master," She gestured to her chest.

"Oh... right..."

With so many things happening... I was starting to forget stuff.

"Well, I still need to find the mine, but I could probably have an entrance made leading to it."

"How are you going to do that master?"

"You don't need to worry about that," I patted Velris on the shoulder. "Just get ready to move to this place."

"Understood master, I shall head back to the carriages," Velris bowed before walking away.

Focusing back on the land, I decided to start picturing what I wanted to make. I purchased this land yesterday and I spent the rest of that day marking up the range of my land.

[Terraform has been activated]

A projection of the land appeared in front of me. If I had known this was a feature of the skill, I would have not wasted time marking and checking what was underneath.

Rubbing my forehead in frustration, I decided to focus on the task. Around fifty meters deep was the location of the mine. The entrance was completely buried, so the first thing I did was make a diagonal tunnel up to the surface. That used up a lot of metal and wood, but I had to make sure the tunnel was safe.

I placed a significant distance between where I would begin building my residential area and the entrance of the mine since it was still a "Cursed mine". Next, I removed all the old structures and began creating a house using the modern designs in my original world. I was thankful that the skill actually created the house based on what I was thinking and still used legitimately construction techniques like foundations and the support pillars.

It was amazing watching everything shaped like it was made of clay.

No wonder this was a one-time-use skill.

I could have built a kingdom with this. Instead, I was building a simple wooden two-story house with metal foundations.

"I'm going to screw this up, aren't I?"

------

Catherine was frustrated. "Why in the world would he come to such a place?"

Yesterday, she had tracked Raveil Gray to this location, then Sylph had informed her that he was suddenly back in the capital in an instant. That resulted in her canceling her plan to come here via carriage, then after a few minutes, he was back here. After that, Sylph informed her that Raveil returned to the capital overnight and returned here in the morning.

"I will punish him for this."

Catherine stepped off the carriage and began making her way to the exact location of foot since the terrain forward was no longer safe for carriages. She noticed several empty carriages already in the area, and a dark-skinned woman coming out of the forest.

"You! Where is Raveil?" Catherine demanded.

The woman scanned her cautiously. "My master is currently at his land doing maintenance."

The woman's reply was straightforward. A bit lacking in terms of proper addressment to a noble, but Catherine didn't care at the moment.

She marched towards the location with Sylph leading the way. Ignoring the chatter of the people tending to the carriages, the Duchess entered the forest.

"Holy shit! It's correcting all my design flaws!"

Catherine heard an excited shout, and a few seconds later, she found her target. Raveil Gray was covered in dirt and mud. His white shirt was torn in a few places, and the leader shorts he was wearing were definitely going to be thrown out after this. His handsome face and silver hair were filthy, making him look no different than some commoners on the streets.

Catherine was about to march towards him to demand answers, but the land came alive. Everything above ground was swept away and the logs along with the metal ingots practically turned liquid as they formed into complex shapes before building structures.

Over at the distance, Catherine witnessed a giant entrance leading underground being constructed. She was too far away to check what it was exactly, but the process of the construction was too unbelievable.

"Am I dreaming?"

"No, my lady."
