life of their kids...

   Today was Monday and Jonie was getting prepared to go to school.

  " Mom I'm done can we go now". Jonie asked his mom with soo much joy on his face.

" I'm sorry dear I can't go with you today"

" Mom why". His happy face turned out to be sad.

   " Don't worry my dear your dad will take you to school"

  " Okay, mom". He bows his head.

" Ooh my dear don't worry, mom has something very important to attend to. so don't worry okay ". His father told him.

  " Okay dad"

He hugs his mom and says Goodbye to her.

" My dear we are going ". His husband said and took Jonie away with him.

    " Aww my little angel don't cry okay..I will come for you this afternoon..I know today is your first day at school". Becky tries to calm layla her daughter. But still, she didn't want to let go of her mom.

  " Mama..". That is all she says and she will start to cry.

  " Honey don't worry mom will come for you today okay.. today I won't let her stay out late okay. She will come for you . I promise". Her father Aaron also told her and this time she let go of her mom and her teacher took her hands and send her to her class.

  " Are you sure she will be fine"

Becky asked Aaron when they were in their car.

  " Ooh, my dear rest assured...I know that Doris will take good care of her "

  " Okay if you say so". She said while fastening her seat belt.

   " My dear, I want to ask why you were late last Saturday "

  Becky looks through the windows for a while before giving in a deep breath.

  " Why, hmmm ."

  " I was attacked by a group of gang "

" What". Aaron said, step on the car brake stopping the car at a full pace.

" What happened".  Becky said.

" Who were they"

" Do I know"

   " Then why didn't you tell me all that while"

" You see, I didn't want to worry you for you are already having problems in your company so..."

  " So nothing..see if they had done you something do you know what will happen to your four year old daughter do you... have you think off what your parents will do for you are their only child... Becky please please don't make life difficult for us okay "

   " I didn't mean it"

" I know and I'm not mad at you for doing that, but please sometimes do tell me something like this okay...mmm... anyway where did they attack you "

  " My parking lot "

" Wait how did they no your parking lot "

" I don't even know either "

" Which means they have monitor you for long".

" Yes dear"

" I need to talk to Robin ".

" I was even thinking about that "

   Aaron was flaming with anger while driving.

After a while, he drop Becky at her work place and told her that he will come and pick her up that evening.

  " What about layle"

" I will tell her driver to go and pick her up "

" To the house "

" No..no he will bring her here "

" Oo okay..sorry for wasting your time..bye". She waved him and he blow her a kiss.

     " Hello class today we have newcomers here and if you know there is someone who is a new student here, tell me and let him come forward,"  Madam Doris said to the primary one student.

They all look around them to see if a  new person was sitting beside them.

" Madam, madam.. please there is someone here"

  Jonie said shouting.

" Okay, Jonie tell her to come forward".  Madam Doris said.

  " Okay madam.. hello please you need to go forward to where Madam is ..". He said but layla was still sitting there with her head bowed.

" What is wrong with you little beauty". Jonie said again. He called her little beauty for she was soo beautiful.

   Suddenly someone grab her hands and walked forward with her.

  "My name is Dela and this layla she is our newcomer today". He said and smiled, even though Dela was a small boy, he was very cute and handsome he was the son of Cecilia the handsome baby boy who was born that day.

"Awww, clap for Dela and his new friend layle".

The whole class clap their hands except Jonie who was sitting down with his frowning face.

  "Jonie what is the problem, why didn't clap your hands "

   "Because I was the first person who saw her"

"Ooh Jonie you don't need to be angry about this okay,  you are all friends..is that okay "

  "Okay madam ".

"Now go and shake hands with layle and Dela.  From today onwards, you are seatmates okay "

"I don't wanna sit with him"

"Hmm... don't create a fight between you too for you are such good friends"

   Jonie look down for a while and then went to them.

  "I'm sorry Dela I didn't mean it..are we still friends ". Jonie said with his apologist's face.

  "No need to apologize Jonie we are already friends". They hug each other and went to sit down.

   "So how did you know her name, Dela". Jonie asked.

  "While I saw it on her bag packed ". Jonie turned and took a look at it.

   "Ooh I have seen it"

Layla sat down quietly without talking to anyone. Jonie the talkative has done all he could to make her talk but still, she was quiet.  Dela was a quiet type of person too so he was also quiet but was enjoying how talkative Jonie was. 

Sometimes he will laugh out loud when Jonie says something that is way too funny.

   " Jonie why are you funny like that". That is all that Dela will say and laugh.

   Finally, it was closing time as Layla was wishing, her happy-go driver came to pick her up. Jonie and Dela saw her off and they also went their way.

   " How was your first day my little layla? Becky said when she saw layla running towards her with a hint of happiness.

  " Mama..haha". She said and laugh, she was only Four years old and couldn't pronounce the words correctly so she chose to keep quiet and listen to them for a while before she will reply to them if they talk to her. 

   Becky took Layla with her and went inside her office.

Jonie and Dela were the same age mate, they were all seven years old and they were in primary level with layla.

    "How was school today my boy". Dela's father ask him when they were on their way home.

  "School was great dad". Dela doesn't like talking to adults even if they were his family.  He didn't know how to talk to his father and mother. He was always quiet and respectful.

"So did everyone come to school today"

"Yes, dad". He didn't even tell his dad about his new seatmate, nor did he tell him that they had a newcomer, for he doesn't care about those things. 

He looks through the windows and enjoys the cool sunny afternoon.

   The next day, Aaron called Robin to tell him about what Becky told him.

  "Hello bro". Aaron said on the side of the phone.

"Yh boss what is up"

"Nothing. I just called to ask you for a favor"

   "Anything my boss"

"Stop calling me boss"

"Hahaha why"

"I'm not in the mood for that"

"Okay I'm listening"

"Just yesterday, Becky told me that she was attacked by a group of gang in her parking lot"

  "In her parking lot, but no one knows about her parking lot"

  "Yh that is what makes me suspicious too"

"Mmm...I'm sorry but right now I'm not in Ghana I will be back next year. But I know what to do trust me"

  "I trust you, dear"

"Yh I will ask my boys to take care of that..so if anything I will update you. don't worry I got this"

  "I know what you are capable of"

"Hahaha true"

"Yh . anyway how is the family doing "

"They are doing great "

"Okay greet everyone for me"

"Okay bye". They end the call.

   "Who were you talking to dear". Elle said while drying her wet hair.

  "Ooh that was Aaron "

"What did he say"

"Hmmm.. could you believe that someone has attacked Becky in her workplace and not any place than her parking lot which not everyone knows about it "

   "What". She off the hair dryer and went to sit beside Robin.

  "Who will it be"

"I think is Peggy "

"What are you talking about didn't we make sure she was out of the country "

"My dear are you telling me she can't come back "

"But we reported her to all the media platforms and everyone knows her face and her name.. besides she will even get arrested at the airport she will go take a flight back to Ghana "

  "My dear don't forget that she was a super planner and she is capable of making everything possible... for the very first day we sent her out of the country, I knew she got help somewhere and she came back.  I have all the time know that she was still in Ghana "

  "And you never tell the cops"

"With which proof to show that she was still here "

"But you should have done something "

"I was just waiting for her to start her actions then I will no my move so everyone should be at ease no rushing "

   "Okay, Mr smart but please make Aaron aware of her presence in Ghana.

  "He already knows about that"

"How about Andy "

  "He also knows"

  "Then it means we the woman are the only ones who don't know about it right"

   "Yes and now you are the only one who knows about it so just shut up, for now, don't scare anyone"

   "Okay"

Robin got up and walk out of the room.

It was Wednesday morning, and the sunshine beautifully upon the sky, layla got up complaining of a headache.

"Mom my head has been too heavy on my neck, I can't even walk around while".  Layla was now Ten years old and was able to talk as she wish. That morning she woke up complaining of a headache.

   " My dear come close and let me see what is wrong with you". Her mother told her to walk close to her to see why she was complaining like that.

   " Oh no, you have a fever..".

She touched her forehead with her hands and put a thermometer in her armpit.

  " You see your temperature is high. did you walk in the rain yesterday"

   Layla was about to say no when she remembered what she did with her friends yesterday.

    " Hey, guys, how about will play hide and seek in this beautiful rain". Layla said to her friends who were Dela, jonie, and her two other friends.

   " No Layla we can't do that, what if you catch a cold ". Dela said.

   " Then I will cover her with my jacket ". Jonie says raising his hands in the air. Everyone gave in a loud laugh at how funny he was.

  " Don't even mind Dela, how will the rain catch me I'm a salt.. hahaha ". She said and they all laughed then they all stepped into the rain except Dela, he stood there quietly and watch them play.

  A minute later Layla run back to him.

  " Are you still stan..ding.."hetinnn". She sneezed.

  " Okay stubborn girl, are you satisfied now..and by the way where is the guy who said he is going to cover you with his jacket ". He looks around him to see if he will find Jonie. But he was nowhere to be found.

   ", See you, he has disappointed you". He said and covered her with his jacket and took her to the class and made her sit down on her chair.

  "Hello Layla..I'm talking to you, did you play in the rain yesterday". Her mother asked her again and she woke up from her rememberings.

  " Actually no. I only pass through it"

" And where were you going that made you pass through the rain"

   " Mmm. I was going to the canteen "

"But I thought your canteen is on the down floor and how could it possibly be that you will get wet.."

    ( Ooh why shouldn't I know that this woman is more than a journalist...she is asking too many questions and she knew everything too). Layla said to herself and said.

   " Mmm. I was going to the school supermarket..huh..yh"

   " Okay.. but please next time go with your umbrella...and wait where was your umbrella "

   (Ooh okay I think I got no excuse again to tell this journalist I need to go now)

  "Okay, mom bye I will be in my room ".

    "Wait..wait you haven't taken your medicine"            

      "I will come for it later "

After saying that, she quickly went upstairs to her room and shut the down without listening to what her mother was saying.

   "I should have listen to Dela"

She said and took a look at the wrist brace Dela bought her on her tenth birthday.
