CHAPTER 44: ESCAPE

"Sir! I was cleaning the room" Diana responded at the man.

"Okay, I am in good mood today so I don't care what you were in there for" Mark beamed as he entered the room.

Diana thanked her stars and followed behind back in the room. Her heart now was at ease.

"Where are you going?" He asked as the lady faced down.

"Sir! I had clean the room and everything is in place but the girl is not in a good shape. She has never taken a bath since the first day she came here" Diana made herself comfortable after seeing her young master in a good mood.

"Okay, no problem. You can help her clean up quickly before mum sees you. Make sure that the princess will not see you too. She wouldn't like it when a maid is being treated well. You are lucky that dad is not around" He commented and then barged in the room living Diana smiling blissfully to herself.

She also entered the room and stood at the far corner. 

At that time, Blessing's eyes were open wide as she gasped at the people who some minutes ago, have scared her.

"Wow! She is awake!" Diana jumped in happiness as she gazed at the girl on the bed. She was very excited. 

Blessing just smiled inside her mask. She was also happy to have a nice hearted friend.

"If she is awake then she must start working immediately" Another voice was heard that made all the people freeze in the room.

I looked at the woman with hatred as she strolled majestically in the room.

She was dressed like a queen with long waving Asian hair. She was beautiful but with a heartless heart. 

She came closer to me and looked at me like I was new to her.

"Mum! She has not recovered yet" Mark said while looking at his mother.

"Mark, I have heard enough of your blubbering, now I am in charge of the situation. Go to the company and try to help as your father is not around. Your work is to wander around with no reason while here you are pretending to be a responsible man? No! Today I won't make the same mistake as last time" She said in a cold tone that all the people except Mark were nervous.

"Mum...." "Don't mum me or I will tell your father to deport you back to Asia"

Hearing that, Mark blushed with fury and walked out of the room feeling dejected.

"Young girl, what is your name?" She asked the girl with a hateful voice.

"I am Blessing Richard ma'am" The girl answered in a low voice as she was still weak.

"How old are you?" 

"I am 21 years"

'So she is older than my baby princess? But how is it that she looks younger than her age?' The woman thought inwardly.

"Do you have any health problems?" She asked again making the girl open her mouth wide in shock.

"Ma'am is sorry to interrupt but she was diagnosed..."

"Shut up! Get out of here now!" The woman shouted in anger that Diana ran out of the room.

"And you, get up now and go wash the whole second floor and I will send a supervisor to see the way you will do it" The woman stated in a cold tone of voice that made Blessing shed tears of pain.

How would she do the work as her hand was not in good shape? She regretted to agree coming here. Why did it look like she was a lave and not a maid?

She cried harder.

"What are you looking at? Get up now! A lazy human being!" The woman growled in gritted teeth as her fists were clenched in anger.

Blessing supported herself by holding the bed's pillar to be able to rose. She used her right hand as it was the only one that was strong.

"Ma'am please have mercy on me. I can start work tomorrow and I promise to work tirelessly"

"Shut up! Mercy? Is there your mother here? Wake up. I am giving you two minutes to be in there" She pointed in the direction as she get out of the room.

Blessing managed to get out of bed. Luckily, her legs were strong. The only problem was that she was weak because she has not eaten anything since the time she was in a coma.

She tiptoed slowly outside the room. She was confused because she did not know the house yet. Her eyes wandered into the big mansion and finally, she saw what she was looking for.

She walked lazily to the staircases and started going up.

The pain was unbreakable on her left hand but she managed to suppress it as she walked.

Finally, after what seemed to be an eternity, she managed to reach her destination.

She was in utter shock when she reached there.

The place was full of building material that she could not understand how she was supposed to clean. 

Tears of pain and rejection poured like a river down her face as she came closer to a bucket full of water and a mopper. She supposed that the woman sent somebody to put them there for her. Ooh! She was cruel. She hated her with passion.

She tried to hold the mopper on her right hand but it was hard as she was a left user.

"You! Mop quickly! You are not here to be fed for free" she heard a cold voice from her back and guessed that maybe it was the supervisor that was to come.

'Why do these people think that we are here because we can't afford food?' She asked herself and sighed.

"It's not that..." "Another word from you and I will tell madam that you don't want to work"

Blessing knew that explaining herself would only be in vain, so she tried as hard as she could and hold the mop.

She started working as the pain was even at its peak because she had to use her left hand which was in a bandage to be able to do the work.

Surprisingly, she was able to push through despite the pain.

She continued to work and finally, she was done. 

One would think as to how she managed but she arranged all the building materials on one side as she mopped.

"Wash all the verandors" I heard the woman screaming as she was standing in the shade while I was at the open as ran was pouring all over me.
