CHAPTER 247: INTERROGATIVE ALEXANDER WALTER

It had been a full year now since Blessing left the city. But a total of one year and some months since she left her village where she loved the most. This was because it was this place where she was born and raised. She valued the village more than anything because after all, east-west, home was always the best.

The village itself was cool. The crops that the villagers had worked hard to plant, were now growing beautifully on the surface of the land. 

The weather was cool. Not too hot not too cold. The villagers themselves were in awe of the weather change this year. They were sure a lot of blessings were falling from the clouds to their beautiful land of Nasea, another name of the village where Blessing was born.

They were all used to hot weather and summers. But now, this year was different. They were even able to prepare their lands which were wet now from the rain that poured on them the whole of last week.

Everybody was excited and they believed that this was the beginning of better days to come. 

Mr Richard's family was not left out from all of this. They were all at their farm preparing as they planted seedlings.  They all wished that Blessing was taround with them to witness the beautiful weather which had never been witnessed in Nasea village and its outskirts.

Their eyes were glittering while their faces were sparkling with happiness. One would wonder what the happiness in their faces was about. Others like their nosey neighbours would conclude that it was the good weather which allowed all of them to plant so that they could get enough food in their granaries after a long period of summer and hunger. But that was not the reason at all.

The family was happy not because of the weather but because of their better life that they had now.

To them, Alex was an angel in their lives. The young man fulfilled his promise and until now, he was still paying fees for all Blessing's siblings. 

Some nosey, neighbours tried to find out why nowadays, Richard was able to pay school fees for both his four children because even little Jayden started schooling this year which was not the case earlier but unfortunately for them, no one revealed their little secret.

The neighbours were still trying to find out but their effort didn't bear fruits. Some even started to gossip saying that it was Blessing who was providing for them.

Some even went as far as insulting Richard, saying that as old as he was, he was being provided for by his little daughter.

Some would even gossip at the water place saying that Richard was dilly-dallying around leaving his responsibilities to his daughter. They all believed that Blessing was the provider of the family and that she was being abused in the city, in rich people's houses while her father was just relaxing at home and enjoying her sweat.

But they all didn't know what was going on and the family was not ready to tell them either. Unlucky for the gossipers, hahaha! Their tongues were itching but their was no gossips for them.

There was a day when Sofia was about to split the oil to everyone because the girl didn't like the fact that her sister was being praised everywhere. Be it at home, in the village or even on the way but her father just came from nowhere making her unable to say anything.

The girl was full of jealousy and hatred which made her parents more keen on her all this while after that day she confessed her hate for Blessing. They were worry of her.

After that day, Mr Richard warned everyone in his house against blubbering their mouths around about who was helping them out.

Sofia was able to do her exams. Even though she didn't pass well, she was able to get an average score. Alex surprised them by sending her to a boarding girl's secondary school which they didn't expect with her shallow marks.

All the family members were happy about the news and they were eagerly waiting at the night hours to split everything to Blessing that day but what Alex said next made them zip their mouths completely.

Unfortunately, until now, they didn't know the reason behind the man's warning. When they tried to inquire from Blessing, the girl didn't say anything concerning Alex. She would try to surpass the topic.

"Don't tell Blessing about this no matter what" That was what he said that day. 

When they inquired as to why he didn't want Blessing to know, he only gave them a vague excuse but they of course silled their mouth because this was something great to them and they didn't want to lose it.

Now, it was during the holidays so Sofia was together with her parents and her three siblings. They were all happy as she encountered everything to them about her new school.

At first, when Alex suggested it, she was the first one to refuse but her parents installed senses in her empty brain hence eventually she joined and now she was happily talking about it.

But even though Alex was good to them and did all of that to them, Richard still hated him enormously.

 But it was not Richard alone who hated him this time around but also Sandra.

The young man had been asking questions that she hated the most.

"Was Blessing born in a hospital or at home?" She could remember him asking her that. When she answered, he questioned again like a CID, "Which hospital? I would like to know more about her. You know how much I like her and we haven't spent a lot of time together" That was what he asked next.

Sandra found the whole situation wired but she didn't know why. The way the young man gazed at her like he was interrogating her about something which Sandra didn't know about.

She remembered the way she hesitated to tell him about the hospital but eventually, Sandra lied. She didn't tell him the right hospital. Still, the young man looked like he already knew that she was lying but didn't question her further.
