Alex immediately looked away from Adrian as soon as she felt her face turn red. She had heard it from Alice already, but hearing those words directly from the man's own lips made her unable to move. Her face is red, her tongue is numb and her heart is pounding. Wait, did she just say that her heart is pounding? Not. It is not possible.That shouldn't happen. But, her heart was really pounding. Good grief! "S-since when?" she asked with difficulty.

Adrian's body stiffened. "I can't say that," he said quickly.

"Why could you not?"

"I just don't want to look pathetic in front of the woman I love so much."

She choked on her own spit, making her cough. Good grief! Can't the man say something more... normally so it doesn't make her blush? Even her face feels hotter. "But, Adrian, we've been friends for a long time. How could you—"
