An Open Door

Hayley was standing outside the room which Rachel locked herself in and still thinking why she ended up here. She took a long breath and knocked on the door still getting no reply from the other end. She knocked again but this time she said " Rachel, it's Hayley, please open the door." Still she didn't get any reply but she tried again " I brought your favourite cheese cake from your favourite shop."

Rachel was listening to everything from the other side of the door. She thought that Hayley came to insult her more. In last two days finally reality started to sink in Rachel's mind and she understands that Aaron has moved on but how can she move on. She loves her life here.

Thinking for a while and irritated by Hayley's constant knocking Rachel opened the door. Rachel froze on the spot when she saw Hayley smiling at her, she didn't expect to see Hayley smiling at her, she expected an irritated look but instead she got an smile.

Hayley just smiled and invited herself in and randomly started talking about the new language she was planning to learn and other random stuff. This conversation was just like the conversation they use to have initially before they knew about their respective equation with Aaron Samuel.

When Hayley saw Rachel standing frozen at the gate she gently held her hand and made her sit on the couch in the room and took a seat beside her. She started showing her some videos about that language thing and also showed her pictures of a dress she was planning to buy and asked for Rachel's opinion. Hayley kept talking throughout without being bothered about the fact that Rachel wasn't replying to her. Jeremy was seeing all of that and didn't know what to say or do.

After an hour or so Hayley left and Jeremy went to Rachel's room again already half expecting that door to be shut but to his surprise door was still open and Rachel was still sitting at the couch. Jeremy called out to her and asked her to join for dinner and again Rachel surprised him by standing up and going to dinner table to eat.

Jeremy was relieved, finally after two days Rachel will eat. He still didn't understand how Hayley was able to this but nonetheless he was thankful to her.

Hayley reached her apartment and had a quick dinner when she thought of something and called Ginny. Ginny was just coming out of hospital accompanied by Aaron. They both ended their shift together and met each other at the exit and having a conversation while going towards the parking lot.

Ginny picked up the phone "Hey Hayley, what's up?" she greeted her. "I want to talk to you something related Rachel, actually I wanted to talk to everyone but I thought talking to you first and then Aaron and then rest" Hayley said. Ginny halted in her steps that made Aaron stop as well she looked at him and just puts phone on speaker. Ginny informed Hayley that she was with Aaron and phone was on speaker. Hayley thought it's good that they were together, saved her time.

She told them about her meeting with Rachel without missing anything. "What are you planning to do" Ginny asked, she knew Hayley really well now, she promised to help Jeremy and she will and also Ginny knows that Hayley consider Rachel a friend and Hayley will help a friend no matter what.

Hayley told them even though Rachel didn't replied to her but she saw her eyes linger on the picture of the group. Maybe Rachel miss all of them and her life here and she thought by getting Aaron back she will get all of them back. So basically she misses her life here, her happy period. Ginny and Aaron found these reason also can be pause able reason for Rachel's behaviour.

" What do you suggest us to do then" Aaron asked this time. "She is a friend of all of you Aaron, you guys should treat her like one. I think that's the cure" Hayley said.

Ginny was the first one to understand and she said " So basically you want us to behave like we would have behaved if she didn't have any past with Aaron. Like she was a friend to us before her wedding". "Yes" Hayley replied. "I mean it's not fair for her to loose all her friends just because she broke up with a guy and married another" Hayley continued.

Ginny looked at Aaron and then she said " I'll just drop Rachel a message". Hayley smiled after hearing this she knew somehow that Ginny will be able to understand her that is why she called her first.
