Chapter twenty-three

"Jiwon, it's midday. Better if we'd already gone to the hideout" Damn, I totally forgot that it was that day...

"'Kay, Si." After changing their clothes the two left the locker room, while walking through the hallway something occurred to Jiwon. "Si?"

"Mhm," the other responds with a hum.

"Can we get something to eat at the cafeteria before we leave?" Jiwon asks, almost whining.

"But Via already bought food for the day," Silas answers, now looking at the male walking beside him.

"I know she did, but it's fish-stick-Friday!! Come onnnn pleaseeee Sly," Jiwon says, literally whining this time.

"Ugh. Fine. Go get your fish sticks."

"THANK YOU, LIXIE!" Jiwon says while kissing both Silas's cheeks, "You're the best alpha out there." Silas simply rolls his eyes at that, knowing that the other was saying this purely to butter up. 

Silas was already walking towards the exit while scrolling through social media. As he almost got out of the building he saw someone familiar standing by the entrance.

Dorian.

Silas was about to walk towards his childhood friend when he recognised one of the two boys to whom he was talking and stopped in his path. Dante? What is he doing here?

After standing there for a split second of just standing there and watching the boys talk, Silas repacked his path and walked up to the trio standing outside.

"Hey, Ian!!" He says, resting a hand on Dorian's shoulder. The older boy flinched at the contact and looked at Silas. "Oh, hey Silas," he says, "Sorry, I didn't see you coming. How are you?"

"Nothing much has changed, Ian." Silas answers, " Hey, Minnie, I wasn't expecting you here." He says finally granting Dante a glance. "Yea...I thought I could come to pick you and Jiwon hyung up? Since you weren't feeling too well." The younger one tries to explain.

Silas was suspiciously looking from Dante to Dorian to the boy who was looking at the ground.

"Ok, Jiwon is in the cafeteria. He'll come out in a sec I guess." Silas says. "You can go wait in the car if you want, Silas?" Dante suggests. Silas sees Dorian looking hopeful and the other guy looking up and down again, and laughs."No, it's okay. I'll wait here with you." 

After sighing, Dante nods and looks around uncomfortably.

"I'M READY," Jiwon yells, a couple of minutes later while leaving the building, and he too stopped walking when he saw the group of boys standing before him.

"Minnie, what are you doing here? OMG! DO YOU WANT FISH STICKS TOO?" he asks while jogging towards the group of four. "Of course not, Ji," Silas answers instead of Dante, "he came to ride us. Since we're not feeling too well. Or, that's what he said at least."

Jiwon looks at the boys and then walks past them, towards the parking lot. Silas looks back at the boys before following Jiwon. "Dante," he asks, "aren't you gonna come too?" Dante looks at the two boys, when he sees Dorian nod, he nods back and leaves with a rather sad smile.

As he gets to the car, he sees the two friends sitting in the backseat and sits down behind the steering wheel.

When Dante looks in the rear-view mirror, he sees Jiwon on his phone with a box on his lap and Silas looking back at him through the mirror. He immediately puts the key, somewhat clumsily, into the car and starts the engine, and not a moment later they are driving away from the campus.

"Can you put on the music, Minnie?" Jiwon asks after a couple of minutes. Dante immediately nods and turns on the radio, when he looks in the mirror again he sees Silas looking back, smiling.

"Minnie, I hope you didn't wait too long for us" He says

"No, I had just arrived".

"Mhm. So, have you known Dorian for a long time?"

"What?"

"Well, it seemed like you guys were having a good conversation. That is before I came."

"Oh. Yes, um I met him through a mutual friend and no, I haven't known him very long."

"A mutual friend?"

"Yes, um, the boy who stood with us. We were both friends with him. From one thing follows another, now you could say the three of us are friends."

"I get it...The boy standing next to you looked like a nice boy."

"Yeah...yeah, he is." Dante replies, a little too monotonous for Silas's liking. But he let it slip, feeling the subject made his friend uneasy.

Before he knew it, they got to their apartment. "Minnie, you can leave first and help Via with getting everything ready. Ji and I'll get what we need and follow, it's just a fifteen minute walk from here anyway."

"Okay, see you there!"

"Bye, Minnie!" The two say in unison, before entering their apartment building.

As they open the door, Silas tells Jiwon to take only what is necessary, as they will only be there for one day. And mostly, he doesn't want Jiwon to break one of their things on his first full moon.

Silas sees Jiwon walk in and out of their bedroom and leaves the apartment in a matter of seconds. "I don't think I'll need anything other than my phone, see you downstairs Si," he hears Jiwon say in a hurry while leaving the apartment.

Is it just me or are all my betas acting suspiciously today...

Once they get to the hideout, Silas divides all of them in separate rooms, wanting to give them their own personal space tonight. Except, he and Jiwon shared the living room.

It's not that he doesn't want to give Jiwon his space or that he doesn't trust him, he's just scared how this'll work out since the other boy had already had minor changes before his first full moon.

The house had beautiful big windows at the back side of it, which let all the moonlight inside.

Just as Silas starts to feel that familiar piquant feeling, he hears Jiwon groaning, falling to the ground and later even screaming in pain.

"Yes, I'm sure they won't be back until tomorrow afternoon, because Silas left a note."

"So since you're home alone, can we come over?" The person on the other side of the line asks

"I told you I wanted to study and practice dancing today. Oh I think I hear someone at the door. Talk to you later."

"Jiwon? Ji, where are you?" Silas said after coming back from the toilet.

"Guys!! Jiwon's gone!" he said once he saw the door open.
