 The Nekomanedori

• Haneda Airport (Tokyo International Airport) •

Out of all the people going in and out of the country of Japan, there is one person who doesn't stand out the most, but he looks suspicious due to the fact that his face is heavily covered by his, hoodie, facemask, and dark shaded glasses.

This person is none other than Genji Rivington. He just got here in Japan for one sole reason, to find something he lost.

On his way out of the airport, there's no one waiting for him as it is a sudden arrival and he doesn't want to bother anyone. Perhaps it's the fact that he's never an extrovert kind, but he's certainly not that shy kind of a person who rarely even talks.

After getting out of the airport, he looked at the time and it was 3:03 PM, so he decided to take a quick train ride via the airport's terminal 3 station. It only took a short 15 mins for both getting a ticket and for the ride. All in all, it's just really short if you're busy.

Then, he took a short walk to get into Shinagawa Station, and by the time he gets there, he was on time after buying himself a ticket and is en route to Shinjuku Station which just happened to be nearby the place he wants to go, to Takashimaya Times Square. It costed him a total of less than a little bit more than 1,800 yen. It's a good thing that he withdrew some of his money and directly have them changed into yen due to having a personal bank account.

Other than that, he didn't need Visa due to the fact that he got himself dual citizenship perk as his mother was born and grew up in Germany, and his father is a Japanese, so he's a dual citizen by default at birth. Normally, he would be just a tourist with 90 days of stay, but since he himself was born in Japan, he has the privilege to stay as long as he wants as he is certified Japanese due to the fact that he stayed more than 10 years in Japan since his birth.

After he bought some clothes for himself, he saw a man asking a luxurious-looking guy. By what he heard, the man is trying to sell his 10-year-old AE86 Trueno. The man also said that he'll take any amount of money as he needs them for his daughter who is currently in the hospital.

After hearing that, the fancy man refused and said that an AE86 would never be comparable to his Lan-Evo V, and he better just send it to a scrap yard and earn money there.

However, Genji knew that sending a working car into a scrapyard will only yield you the same amount you get when you take a body of a car without the engine, and even that is not even enough. You're lucky if the person you made transaction with is a good person, however, a working environment like that doesn't give that much salary as well.

So, he decided to go and talk the old man and heard a lot of things from him. At the end of their conversation, Genji bought the Trueno after realizing that the Trueno he got is well taken care of, which managed to put a smile on his face for the first time when he got here.

The grayish color of its body, the paint is as bright as it can get, and the fact that when he took a test drive with the old man, he realized that the suspension settings were up to his liking and so the steering wheel's sensitivity is high enough to be maneuverable at both high and low speed.

Well, before the payment transaction happened, he decided to drive the old man back to his home which is in Ogano in Saitama Prefecture. It turns out that the son of the old man owns a workshop. Although, the workshop doesn't get much income so they ended up getting loans just to keep it open.

The amount of money he paid for the car is half a million. That is in Euros, which means that it is around 78 million yen, more than enough to pay all the debts they had and pay for the surgery of his daughter.

Genji doesn't care how much money he wasted as long as the things he bought were taken care of properly like this AE86 that is so old yet it's in top condition. It is in stock model, but it's fine as long as it is in top condition for him. It has many rooms to grow.

Since he is now near the border of Gunma, he decided to go through the Tsuchisaka pass. But by that time, it was already night so he had to go faster. But before he could speed up, he saw the same car that the rude luxurious guy earlier and decided to drive past him by making sure that he overtakes him during a turn at the last corner at the inbound pass (to Gunma).

For those who were wondering why the title seems like it isn't connected in the chapter, it is because Nekomanedori is a bird called catbird and as the description goes: Gray catbirds are plain lead gray almost all over. The top of the head is darker. The undertail coverts are rust-colored, and the remiges and rectrices are black, some with white borders. The slim bill, the eyes, and the legs and feet are also blackish.
