Well, I do believe that I am about to be slapped until I cannot spell my name.
I have come to my beloved for the permission to go see a Warlock to find Roberto. Now there is only one problem…
"Sebastian!" I hear that sweet innocent voice echo through the room and fill the hallways. "You want me to do what?"
"My beloved, please sit down. If you were human you would have gotten a heart attack by now."
"And," she adds. "If you were human then you would really be dead by now."
I cannot help but chuckle at her as a pillow comes flying my way, thank god she is not throwing any glasses since there is no need for a Vampire to have such a thing as a glass near him anyway. But I must count my words before they are spoken, for there are lots of other dangerous things, such as a very pointy dagger that is laying on the dressing table that can find its way to me.
"Okay," I hear her huff as she pouts her lips at me trying to look all angry.
"My beloved, you have no idea how arousing that is."
"Sebastian, you are not getting anything arousing from me for a long time if, and I must insist on if, I do decide to do this for you. Now please do explain to me what you want me to do again?"
"It is easy," I start as my plan remains very much fail prove to myself. "You need to visit Alatar and ask him to do a location spell to find the location of Roberto."
"Fine," she agrees with me. "It seems very easy, but please do remind me of the rest?"
"The thing is," I step one step closer to that dressing table to get to that dagger before she does. "I perhaps, on one occasion…"
She clears her throat rather loudly for that of a delicate woman.
"Fair." I start to explain again. "I have on more than one occasion tried to kill him."
"And exactly," she throws her hands in the air. "Exactly how do you think you are going to get his help?"
"That is why I am sending you."
"Oh yes," she bursts out laughing and I swear the woman is enjoying every moment. "And he is not going to know that Roberto is your brother. Or wait, he is not going to know that I am your beloved."
"Well, I thought that the man would look past that."
"So, you send a woman in to do your dirty work. But most of all because you messed up?"
I only but smirk at her as the smile does seem to consume my face, "Yes, exactly like that."
She gets off from the bed and slowly makes her way over to me. Now I swear this is about the very moment that I am about to die. Like in really die this time. She has such an evil look on her beautiful face, let me tell you this one beats the Ancient look by miles. But yes, as she makes each step closer, I feel like every little bit of me is drifting into a big giant black hole. When she finally comes to a dead stop in front of me, I can honestly say that there is nothing that is not shaking over this terrified body.
"No, Sebastian. You will come with me." I feel like my world crash into those million pieces that I am worried about. "You will face the wrongs that you did. Do I even dare say that you should not be a coward?"
"My beloved, you did say it but a few moments ago. In fact, I counted them at eight."
"Oh, and now you are a smart ass too?"
"Well," I growl at her from a far more pleasant space in my chest. "I know a lot of things that this smart ass can do?"
"Sebastian,"
"Yes, my beloved."
"What did I say about the arousing thing?" she steps those few steps closer that I could not reach and take the dagger in her hand. "This shall stop those parts, including that smart ass from getting arousing. Now get dressed so that we can go see this Warlock."
I guess my wife has just shown me who the one is that truly wears the pants in this house. Guess it seems I am taking myself to my own death and I shall have an audience too.
After what takes me nearly two hours, much to irritate her, I am finally dressed and ready to make the trip. But as for taking the trip, well I am driving at such a pace that we can nearly be moving backward. The ancient castle to which we are traveling is set outside in the country, though not the green lush as one would think. This is rather grey and gloomy and a bit of a way to travel. But if I am hoping that if my slow travels would irritate her so much that she shall do it herself anyway, I am greatly mistaken.
"Sebastian, if you do not put your foot down on that pedal, then I will have it too."
I only but give her one glance and find myself speeding towards our destination. The Warlock's castle is not one that is often visited, so our presence shall come aware of immediately and I should add that it will also be very uninvited.
After what seems to be a fair amount of hours, with my beloved truly not changing her mind, I find myself in fear once again for so many times in the past few weeks. The fear of Stefan and Tasha is not even as close to haunting as the one that I am feeling for Alatar. Perhaps the man is not one that shall hold grudges. He has after all lived far longer than I, he might have learned how to forget and forgive such silly encounters.
Finally, we drive onto the dirt road that leads up to the castle gates. The road is rough with giant potholes in many places, swerving out for the one barely makes you miss the other. It does not seem as if this area has seen any rain in ages, that perhaps does explain why everything is so grey and dead. I bet the same as the owner.
But wait…
That is the very owner that I can see standing at the top of the hill overlooking the road as we are slowly approaching it. Yes, he has not changed and what has not changed is his fury and anger. He raises the scepter that is firmly within the grasp of his hands and in a flash of light, it slams the gates of the entrance closed.
My beloved turns at me and shrugs her shoulders. "How badly did you piss this guy off. I don't know if I should even ask why you wanted him dead?"
"I think you are correct there my beloved, I do not think you should ask."
She only but shakes her head at me and then points at the gate, "How do you suggest we get in now?"
"Well, I suggest that you get out and speak to him."
"Sebastian!" I hear as the anger burst out in a rage. "You are getting out of the car and asking that man to open the gate for you."
Well, I am afraid that it shall not happen, but then again. "My beloved, if he sees you, come on, the man is going to wonder."
"Sebastian, I am not a toy that you and your angry friend can play with. Now you drive up to that gate and you demand to speak to him."
So I slowly carry my way forward. The road is becoming rougher and harder to travel on. When we finally find our way right in front of the gate, I can still see him standing there outside the castle's entrance. I would love to say that he did not know it was me, but he is firmly aware of who has so foolishly found their way to his gate.
After convincing myself for what seems to be the hundredth of time that I am a fearless Vampire Master, I creek the door of the car open. As I step out of the car my foot catches on a loose rock, and to my own horror, I fall flat on my ass on the ground. Now I am sure that this just gave him somewhat amusement.
Gaining my composure again, I make my way to the very entrance at the gate. With a thundering voice that echoes across the plane, I call for him to listen, "Alatar, it is me, Sebastian Belmont. Please can you let us enter?"
Feeling like I have begged for my life, I watch him as he only but scuffles with his feet. I fear that I have not reached him. I fear even more that he has not forgotten, nor has he forgiven. So once again, I try, "Alatar, I came to ask for your help."
And as those last words escape my lips…they are the last words that escape my lips…
