Pain
The guards looked at Guust from his head to his toe. But, he had no choice but to let him in, giving Guust's position. The door was opened for the queen's personal assistant to enter.
King Yianni was discussing with some of his cabinet members. One of the men called out, "Why will you come in here injured?"
King Yianni's face fell as his gaze landed on Guust.
"Where is the queen?!", King Yianni asked.
Guust fell face flat on the floor as the king stood up from the chair at the head of the meeting table. Yianni walked to where Guust was lying. "Where. Is. The. Queen?", he asked in a low growl.
"My King! The queen had an acc- The queen had an accident", Guust said, not succeeding in controlling the anguish he felt. Guust didn't dare to look up. He kept his face to the floor, his lips almost touching the ground.
(Silence)
It was so thick, one could hear everyone's breathing.
At that point, Guust was ready for anything.
