Chapter 3

July 16, 2021 (Newyork)

Robert Moore stood by the window in his office and looked at the night sky, his office building was one of the tallest in Newyork and his office was on the first floor as it was the fastest way when getting to the helipad on the top of the building in case of emergencies. But as he looked out the window he saw nothing in particular as everything was a blur before his eyes, looking at his face one could easily tell that he was gloomy, throughout the day he had been upset especially when the group of private investigators he had hired to search for Rose or Alexa, as she had told him on the sy she had gone missing, had told him that they had no news about her, he felt like murderimg someone, but he held himself back because they were the best at their jobs and the only ones that could find his wife, but still it had been two years and three months since she had gone missing but still there was no sign of her or any progress on her whereabouts, it was as if she had beem wiped off the face of the earth. He could still remember the day she had gone missing, it felt like it was just the day before it had happened. He and the P.I's had searched for anyone named Rose Blair but she had not been any of them and now they were searching for anyone named Alexa, if only she had told him her surname it would have been easier for him, he always wonderedveach time why she hadn't told him her real name, had she been trying to protect herself or he himself, that was a mystery that only alexa had the answer to, he thought.

The other tging that was making him angry was the issue of Henry Watson, a mere manager in the account department in one of his hotels who had been embezzling from him, it was in the middle of the whole ruckus in 2019 when he had buried himself in his work to while away time, until his wife was found, that he had found out that the numbers he had submitted were different from the ones that he had acquired from the suppliers and that he had been embezzling the remaining money, the whole amount he had embezzled was one billion and fifty seven million dollars, he had been so furious and had fired Henry on the spot and had given im a two year ultimatum to refund the money, the two years would come to an end that month and he had only refunded two hundred and fifty seven million dollars and it still remainde eight hundred million, but there was no sign of him,but because of Alexa's issue he expects that his lawyers would take care of it, at least he was paying them for a reason. He still had faith in Alexa that she would come to him soon and his heart was telling him that they were very close to finding her. It was the einging of his phone that snapped him out of his thoughts, "Sir, we have a lead" "Ok, where are you?" " Hope medical center" "Alright, am on my way" Robert said. As Robert was on his way to the basement level to get his car he recieved a phone call, "Hello, please am i speaking to Robert Moore?" "Yes, you are. how may i help you?" Robert answered " I am Tory Watson and I'm the daughter of Henry Watson who stole from you" On hearing the fraud's name he immediately got annoyed and his free hand rolled into a fist, "Yes, what can i do for you?, are you calling to settle your father's debt?, if so my lawyer can handle that" " No sir, i am not calling for his debt but for another issue" at that time he had already gotten to the basement level and his driver was ready to takeoff, " ok then, why are you calling?" he asked, " I am calling because i and my sister are in danger, my father is trying to sell my sister to a rich man so that he can pay the debt he owes you" Robert was shocked to hear this but because he was in a hurry he had to find another alternative " i would like you to come to my office on Monday then we will sort it out, okay?" " But sir, we don't have much time to waste" but Robert had already cut the call as he was in a hurry, he had another pressing issue to attend to which was finding Alexa.
