The discussion between the four friends had gotten heated, from lack of sufficient reasonable or convincing ideas, to crush their wedding. With a hidden agenda of saving both of their family's honor, and therefore, creating less impact from the dire consequences of the dreadful aftermath, from their decision to call off their wedding or to not wed each other.
An example of the dreadful aftermath of their impending decision to call off their marriage was to face the consequences, of a likely possibility of creating a rift between their family's longstanding friendship bond. And secondly, Both Edward and Ingrid, couldn't stand their parents getting disappointed in them, for that same decision, after they had already agreed to get married. With a date set and all the preparations planned even the invitations sent to all the respective guests, as well as the numerous broadcasting in all the news channels, and the sensation of their family bonding together through this wedding, created in the media and the public....and it goes on and on.
It was complicated to simply call off the wedding right now, at such short notice. Especially with the circumstances before them, like Ingrid's pregnancy, it simply wouldn't allow Edward to even consider getting married and maybe, divorce later. Because, it would all bring them back to zero, towards the same consequences of their families drifting apart, and have that on their conscience.
Coming clean before their Parents, was also not an option, especially when Darren and Edward's dad were at each other's throats all the time. Hell would break loose when Dad got to know that, Darren was the reason behind the ruined wedding to Ingrid. And it would call for hatred and a deeper rift between Darren and his Dad.
This was because their dad valued the relationship with the Patels. That was why he choose his exemplary Son...Edward, for the marriage and not his irresponsible Son...Darren.
Not to forget the aspects of the Youngsters and their reactions toward Ingrid. The rich spoilt brats amongst Ingrid's haters. They would take this opportunity to rile their vicious tongues, with malicious comments, due to jealousy and spite, and extreme happiness at Ingrid's misfortune, of a scandalous wedding. Since they already hated Ingrid for being betrothed to Edward Reed, the number one bachelor choice, of any young girl. Therefore, their jealousy and contempt towards Ingrid were dreadful. So if they got a hunk of Ingrid's situation, about her pregnancy as well as a called-off wedding, their mockery and mischiefs would have no bounds.
All the approximated consequences, wouldn't be compared with the outrageous interference of the Media and its repercussions. Those reporters might use this opportunity to hype up or stimulate distorted headlines stories, through claims and assumptions, and arouse their inquisitive motives as part of their careers, which would impel them to snoop around for hot issues of discussion, simply for fame and high rates of viewers.
All the media would do was snoop deeper into their issues and circumstances, for catching headlines and topics for discussions, which would make a spectacle of their hidden secrets, into the open. An example would be Ingrid's pregnancy and the sizzling news of who the child's father was. Especially when the unanswered questions of Darren, as the groom's brother and the baby's father of his brother's bride-to-be. Which may end, with their prestige tarnished, and dragged through the mud.
All these were dreadful aftermath of the media's manipulation and inquisitivity.
Therefore, these complications of their current situation, simply had no other end, apart from the worse case scenarios, they all knew would happen, if they don't come up with anything substantial and execute it immediately.
That was why it was very important for all of them to share ideas, and produce an escape plan out of this mess they found themselves in.
However, they were running out of time. The four of them had less than an hour to come up with an exceptional mind-blowing idea, that might put an end to their marriage once and for all. And also minimize the hard blow, their untimely decisions may impact, on both their family's prestige, as well as all the distinguished and important guests, who made time out of their busy schedules to honor their invitations, and share a part of their happiness. Amongst them were their dad's partners in business, other honorable tycoons in the state, their friends, and even the media, and that were simply a few they could think of.
All the four friends seated in their suite were anxiously cracking their brains, to desperately seek-out, out and execute that impeccable plan.
An impeccable plan that would baffle everyone, and left them dumbfounded, no one would end up hurt or disappointed, and the reputation or honor of everybody would remain intact. As well as saving both their family's legacy, which was tirelessly earned throughout the years.
The clock was ticking with merely, less than an hour left for the wedding.
On the other hand, Guests from all across the State were making their appearances at the wedding. It was the grandest wedding occasion. The bond between the two most influential and powerful families alliance...The Reed and The Patels.
Many influential guests arrived in their numbers, to be a part of a once-in-a-lifetime wedding of the most powerful Harrison Patels, and The State's most honorable Chief Justice...Leonardo Reed, alongside their respective elegantly dressed companions, who escorted them as their dates, to this noble wedding arrangements, and congratulated them for a continuously prosperous family bond, as well as in business.
Even the young generation, heirs and heiress, mini versions of the legendary business tycoons of Hybrid State. The filthy rich, and spoilt brats known as the Youngsters. Who were also present at Ingrid's bridal party, made their glamorous appearances, dressed in their most amazing outfits, simply designed for this occasion, to show off their wealth and stature to their fellow mates.
The glamorous atmosphere of the Reeds and Patels' wedding was so vibrant with luxuriously flowery decorations and exquisite wedding arrangements, which included, world-class classical musicians and violinists. Who didn't fail in their expertise to fill the wedding's atmosphere, with an amazing choice of music, along with the breathless sound of violin sounds. Which tempted almost half of the guests, to showcase their amazing waltz dances, and other dance moves, on the spacious and wide dance floor.
Meanwhile, the extravagant atmosphere of the guest's giggles and laughter, mingled with their mindless chatter, as they engage in various topics of discussion.
Most of them, kept congratulating the Bride and Groom's parents, for an amazing occasion, as they anxiously couldn't wait for the amazing sight of the bride or groom to finally make their appearance.
Some of the curious guests, who hadn't spotted the groom anywhere, kept asking for him to make an appearance and wait for his bride at the alter...It was almost time for the priest to arrive.
All this time, the bride and groom were on the fifth floor in their private suite, making plots to escape their wedding, with the help of a few friends, before Damien Spencer's arrival to join them in their discussions.
When Edward and Ingrid finally had an idea on how to escape their wedding, while keeping the media in check, as well as not disappoint their families or parents.
The only amazing idea, they could think of, after suspenseful endless plots, was to get their Best-Man and Maid of honor married to each other, during their wedding preparations.
But how would they pull this off without any consequences.....Well, let's find out!
Edward and Ingrid's eyes went from Damien to Andrea, as their collided statement of 'let's get them Married' rang into their ears. After all, desperate times call for desperate measures.
What? Whoa!...whoa whoa! Calm down, guys! I think this is getting way over your heads." Damien, who interpreted their intentions from their glares, murmured. while Andrea looked confused at what the Bride and Groom were insinuating.
Before Andrea could understand what was going on, Ingrid dragged her aside for some privacy, while Edward stood up to sit next to Damien, aiming to convince him about their idea.
"Don't even think about it" Damien strongly warned.
"Please Damien, just hear me out. It's an awesome idea. Help me out of this mess, and I promise you, I will owe you big time!" Edward wasn't willing to give up!
Damien suddenly looked uncomfortable from Edward's sorrowful pleas, and he quickly stood up to create some space.
"Marriage?.... I don't even know her, We only got acquainted a few seconds ago. This is absurd...I must say, a silly idea." Damien reasoned his points on Edward's idea.
"It's a good idea..just listen to me! and hear me out, then you can decide." Edward persistently convinced Damien, and discreetly whispered the entire plan into Damien's ears. Then miraculously, Damien nodded in understanding before he returned to his seat.
"So what do you say...Deal?" Edward wanted to confirm an agreement with him.
"Deal! But like you said, Only for three months!." Damien emphasized.
"Don't worry, three months will pass by in a flash." Edward grinned, as he patted his friend on the shoulders, in gratitude.
Darren was left dumbfounded, as the two couples dragged each other for a private talk, leaving him sitting alone at the table. He looked from his brother to Damien and became curious about what they discussed between them.
"No wonder Edward was dad's favorite! He was able to convince this hardheaded Damien, for merely a few minutes...That sounds like his awesome brother" Darren thought to himself, while he sipped the coffee, a waitress brought in a few seconds ago.
"So what's the plan?" Darren suddenly wanted to know how his brother convinced Damien, and what they agreed on.
"The less you know, the more our level of success," Damien replied to Darren, whose expression turned sulky.
A few distances away from the three guys were Ingrid and Andrea, also engrossed in their discussions.
"What?... you must be kidding me. Marry his Best-Man?" Andrea exclaimed when Ingrid told her the idea they came up with. Then went further to add. "You have always known about my crush on Edward, and you expect me to marry his friend?... This is nuts!
"Please Andrea, don't be such a spoilsport....this is an amazing idea. And you already heard what Edward said a while ago, he only sees you as a friend and nothing else." And here comes the bitter truth from Ingrid to Andrea.
Andrea's expression turned gloomy from hearing the bitter truth, and it made Ingrid regret her words, the moment they were out of her mouth.
"I am sorry Bestie, I didn't mean to hurt you with my words, but it's the truth". Ingrid apologized.
"I know Edward always thought of me, only as a friend, but I can't help my feelings. I am so confused". Andrea began to pace back and forth. Ingrid hugged her friend to console and calm her.
"Marry him!...please Andrea!" Ingrid pleaded
"I don't know how you could come up with this absurd idea. It's your wedding day, Your wedding dress, and your wedding guests, How could you scheme such a plan, despite the consequences." Exactly what bothered Andrea, which she uttered to her bestie.
"That's my problem to worry about, not yours, All you have to do is to accept the proposal...Please Andy.!" And here comes Ingrid's insistence.
"How can you propose that, I just met the guy a few seconds ago. I don't even know him. Moreover, you know how I dislike men, because of my abusive father, and this guy is a complete stranger to me. Please, Ingrid...It can be anything, but this!" The back and forth just never ends.
"But you promised to grant me a wish on my wedding day, no matter what! well, It's either this or I don't want anything else".
Ingrid stood her ground, with her last card of Andrea's promise to her, having no intention to change her mind.
Leaving Andrea with no other option but to accept it, so Andrea replied suddenly... "Okay! I will.... Let's do this!".
