COLORLESS LOVE
Anara is an orphan girl. Her father and mother died when Anara was 9 years old. Meanwhile, his twin brothers Afdhal Alif Fikrie and Akhtar Alfi Faizal are only 3 years old. At that time, Anara's parents would go to the market to sell. Anara's father is a chicken seller in the market, while Anara's mother is a vegetable trader. As usual, Anara's father and mother left the house early in the morning. They went around 2 am to get fresh vegetables from the wholesaler. And broiler chickens directly from breeders. That night it rained lightly, soaking the earth, causing the road to be slippery and Anara's father's eyesight to blur. Anara's father lost his balance, which caused the motorbike he was riding with his wife to roll over. Instantly, the motorbike hit the large truck in front of it, which caused Anara's father and mother to fall and get under the truck that was passing by. The bodies of Anara's father and mother were run over by a truck, so that their lives could no longer be saved and they died at the scene. Anara and her two younger twins Alif and Alfi are now orphans and live with their grandmother who loves them very much. Living in a shack house with her grandmother and her twin siblings does not make Anara feel humiliated and inferior. Anara grows into a beautiful girl who is smart, independent, smart, and also strong. In order to support her three grandchildren, Grandma Azizah sells yellow rice and various kinds of cheap fried foods in front of her house. Anara, who doesn't want to burden Grandma Azizah, sometimes helps Grandma Azizah by selling wet cakes that she makes herself. The knowledge that Anara got from her mother during her lifetime was really useful for her. Anara is good at making various cakes and various kinds of home cooking. Usually Anara will sell her cakes at school, offering them to her friends and teachers. After returning home from school, Anara returned with her wares to go around the village. Anara's chest was pounding very fast, the image of Neo's handsome face at this time kept on decorating her mind. The anxiety and worry did not go away, even though Anara had tried to calm herself and her mind by taking ablutions, praying two cycles of circumcision, and reading the Qur'an.
"Why does my chest hurt so much? What is this?" Anara asked herself.
When Anara was about to put the Qur'an on her desk, someone knocked on the door from outside. Anara frowned, because it was late at night but a guest came knocking on her door.
"Assalamu'alaikum… Granny! Anara…!" a male voice outside the house called Grandma Azizah and Anara repeatedly.
"Wa'alaikumsalam, who is it?" asked Anara with fear.
"Anara, this is Mr. Malik! There is something I want to convey to you. Can we talk outside?" asked Mr. Malik behind the door.
"What's going on at this time of night, Mr. Malik?" Anara asked back.
Meanwhile, Grandma Azizah, who heard a noise, woke up from her sleep and looked for Anara, who was heard talking to someone.
"What's wrong, Anara?" Grandma Azizah asked when she saw Anara pressing her ear against the door.
"Outside there is Mr. Malik, Grandma! He wants to talk to me, but I'm scared." whispered Anara.
"Let Granny do the talking!" ordered Grandma Azizah.
"Hmm." Anara nodded her head.
"Mr Malik! Is there something you want to say to Anara?" asked Grandma Azizah full of interrogation.
"Yeah, Grandma! It's about a handsome young man who comes from the city. After the tarawih prayer, he had an accident at the end of the road before a red light. Currently his condition is very serious, we do not know where to contact. But since the accident, the young man always mentions Anara's name, does Anara know this young man?" said Mr. Malik making Grandma Azizah and Anara look at each other in disbelief.
"If I may know what the name of this young man, Mr. Malik?" asked Grandma Azizah.
"According to what the attending doctor said, the young man's name was Muhammad Borneo Abidin." Mr. Malik's words were like lightning that struck, Anara's body immediately fell onto the wooden floor.
"Mr. Malik sure?" asked Grandma Azizah, who had now opened the door to her house after hearing Mr. Malik's explanation.
"It's best if Grandma Azizah and Anara get to the hospital right now, so that everyone can see the young man's condition." Invite Mr. Malik.
"Okay! We are joining Mr. Malik now, but what about Alfi and Alif?" Grandma Azizah asked looking at Anara.
"Just let me take care of them, Azizah! You and Anara go to the hospital to meet the young man." Grandfather Badrun suddenly came to provide a solution.
"Thank you, Badrun! Then Anara and I will go to the hospital, we will leave Alif and Alfi with you." Grandma Azizah said feeling relieved.
"Well, off you go!" replied Grandpa Badrun.
Anara and Grandma Azizah went to the hospital by riding in Mr. Malik's car. It only took ten minutes for Mr. Malik's car to arrive at the courtyard of the hospital in the village.
"That young man seems to be still in the emergency room." Said Mr. Malik who immediately took Anara and Grandma Azizah to the emergency room.
During the trip, Anara was silent with mixed feelings, hatred, annoyance, anger, and pity melted into one. Currently, Anara herself doesn't know how to act towards Neo.
"How is the patient, Doctor?" asked Mr. Malik as the temporary person in charge who helped Neo when the accident happened.
"Currently, the patient has a fracture in his leg, because it was caught in the car body during the accident. The patient must be in intensive care for the next few days, because there are injuries to several other parts of his body and they are quite serious." The doctor's words surprised Anara and Grandma Azizah, and so did Mr. Malik.
"Are we able to see the patient yet?" asked Anara with teary eyes.
"Currently we have just finished treating the patient and after the operation, the patient is still unconscious. After the patient is transferred to the ward you can visit him later." The doctor's answer made Anara's chest feel tight.
"Fine, Doctor! Thank You." Said Grandma Azizah, who also felt sad for what had happened to Neo.
"Should we contact the patient's family?" asked Mr. Malik.
"We're waiting for Brother Neo to wake up, Mr. Malik! I don't know what his family's phone number is. While Brother Neo's cellphone does not know where it is at this time." Anara said softly.
"Okay! We're waiting for the young man to wake up." Reply Mr. Malik.
After waiting for a while, finally Neo was immediately transferred to the treatment room. It's just that at this time Neo has not regained consciousness, so Anara prefers the general treatment room for Neo.
Luckily there were no other patients in the room, so the room was still empty. The room consists of three patient rooms separated by curtains. The room was very small and stuffy, making Anara and Grandma Azizah feel hot in the room.
"Grandma and Mr. Malik can go home first to bring a change of clothes. After that Grandma can come back tomorrow after eating breakfast." Anara said.
"Then how about you, Anara? You also have to eat suhoor later!" Grandma Azizah replied.
"I can find food in the cafeteria, Grandma! I brought a little money hopefully enough to buy my meal later." Anara said.
"You're right, Grandma! Grandma should just come home with me. Poor Alif and Alfi if Grandma doesn't cook breakfast for them. It's not certain that Grandpa Badrun can cook for Alif and Alfi. When it comes to money for Anara's meal, here I have some money just in case." Mr. Malik handed me three hundred thousand bills.
"No need, Mister Malik! I don't want to bother you, Mr. Malik." Reject Anara gently.
"This is not troublesome, Anara! You are a good girl, how can you look after a patient with a hungry stomach. Don't get sick from guarding it all night hungry, take it!" Mr. Malik put the money in Anara's palm, Anara reluctantly accepted it.
After that Mr. Malik went with Grandma Azizah from Neo's treatment room. After dropping Grandma Azizah home, Mr. Malik immediately returned to his house to rest, before finally having to return to his activities as a farmer supplying vegetables to the traders in the market.
"Brother, wake up quickly! I don't know what to tell my brother's family, right now my brother's cell phone is not there, I also don't know the phone numbers of Mom and Daddy. Don't make me worry, brother!" Anara spoke in front of Neo who was lying unconscious.
Drowsiness took over, until Anara fell asleep with her head resting on the mattress where Neo lay. While his body in a sitting position on the chair.
Two hours passed and Neo finally woke up with a body that felt pain in the legs, arms and head.
"Aaaaa…" Neo winced in pain.
Neo slowly opened his eyes scanning the surroundings. When he realized he was in an unfamiliar place, Neo slowly recalled the events of the previous few hours.
"Where am I? Is this the grave? Am I dead? Aaaaah… my head hurts so much, my feet and hands hurt so much." grumble Neo sadly.
As his eyes caught someone's head lying beside him, Neo frowned. Neo glanced at the body gesture of the veiled girl who was fast asleep beside him.
"Is she an angel from heaven that God sent to watch over me? If I'm dead, where are there angels who sleep like they were guarding me?" Neo said ridiculously.
Neo reached for the veiled girl's head slowly, then stroked the top of the girl's head gently.
"Are you my heavenly angel? Look at me! I want to see your pretty face, my angel!" whispered Neo.
Feeling the movement of the hand on her head, Anara opened her eyes instantly as the touch gently stroked her head.
Anara got up and turned her head to face Neo. Instantly Neo's eyes widened perfectly seeing the face of the angel.
"Anara…? Is that you? Are you an angel from heaven that God chose to be my companion?" Neo asked with a sparkling face.
"Ishhh, you're sick, you can still joke. It's not funny you know!" Anara grumbled making Neo stop talking.
"So this isn't heaven, is it? Then that means I'm still alive!" said Neo lazily.
"You really want to die, huh?" asked Anara annoyed.
"If that's better, why not?" answered Neo origin.
"So you're saying you want to die silly in that accident? Or do you really want to kill yourself on purpose, huh?" asked Anara with a fierce look.
"No such thing? At that time, I was just thinking about someone, without realizing it, there was already a big car in front of me. In the end, the collision was inevitable." Neo said explaining.
"Then why are you thinking about someone while driving? It is very dangerous for your life, you even feel the incident." Anara said carelessly.
"Talking is easy but the truth is I can't erase that person's image." Neo's voice sounded soft.
Neo pulled Anara's hand into his chest, until Anara felt the vibration in Neo's chest. Anara became embarrassed, and Neo just smiled seeing Anara's blushing face.
"Are you worried about me, Anara?" asked Neo staring into Anara's beautiful eyes.
"Anyone who knows you, when your guest is in this condition will definitely be worried about your situation. Now quickly tell me what is your home phone number, or Mom and Daddy. I will contact them immediately, so that your treatment can be transferred to the city immediately. That way the treatment will be more guaranteed, you can also choose a treatment room that is much nicer and wider than this." Anara said at length which was immediately answered by a pout of the lips and a lazy roll of eyeballs from Neo.
"Why is that? Don't you want to take care of me, Anara? Are you still angry and resentful this, Anara?" Neo's question made Anara's heart ache.
"Please don't talk about it! For now, just focus on your health, so you can recover quickly." Anara replied letting go of Neo's hand.
"I don't want to!" answered Neo.
"Don't act like a child!" teased Anara.
"I'm not acting like a child! I'm just asking someone to pay attention to me more, that's all! Is it wrong?" asked Neo.
"No! You are not wrong! Then let me contact your family as well as Sarah. That way they will pay more attention to you, as you wish!" Anara said emphatically.
"Hah…! Why don't you understand at all, Anara?" Neo thought indignantly.
Neo secretly comes up with a mischievous idea so he can be with Anara all day long, without making silly excuses that will make Anara even angrier and move away from him. Neo smiled crookedly behind his back while imagining what was in his mind right now he would succeed in doing.
