"So now you are gonna apologize, huh? What are you sorry for, not giving me a chance or being mean to me?"
"For what I just said, I didn't mean to say it all like that. Look, Jessie, I...I don't know how to do it; to lie to a girl and lead her on, I swear I don't. I don't like you that much, I'll be honest with you like I've been since the first time you met me. Maybe I do but that will be as a friend and nothing more. Can you just forget me, if not, avoid me, avoid seeing me, and try not to want to talk to me? I don't wanna have to tell you every single time that I don't want you."
"Why don't you want me?"
"I don't know, I just don't, I don't feel a connection with you."
"Okay, good reason but why don't you want to have sex with me? I'm beautiful, am I not? I'll do whatever you want me to do if we are alone in a bedroom Jerry, I..."
"Don't." I shook my head lightly, not wanting her to continue what she was saying.
"Just listen to me...I get it, you don't like me enough to start anything with me but we could fuck you know...."
"Jessie," I tried to stop her words but she went on.
"Listen, I won't tell anyone, I swear Jerry. Just once, I swear I won't tell my friends, no one will know. You are rejecting me because of her right? That girl? She won't know, no one will."
"The lecturer is gonna arrive soon," I said randomly, not knowing what to reply to all she just said.
"Forget that, don't change the topic, Jerry."
"He's here," I said gladly. The lecturer just walked in.
I heard her sigh loudly.
"Will you let me talk to you later?" She asked and looked on at me for an answer.
"You should go," I just said because I knew she couldn't get up from where she sat if the lecturer started the class.
With another sigh, she got up, finally. Almost walking away, she turned back around.
"Can I come over to your room later today?" I heard her ask and almost rolled my eyes.
"I won't be there by then." I lied.
"Oh. When will you be?"
Fuck, you've got to be kidding. Why won't she just leave?
"Settle down, everyone." The lecturer's loud voice ranged though the hall.
"You should go." I just said to Jessie again.
She turned around and started down the aisle, all the way to the front before she sat. Finally.
"I can't believe you still said no to her." I heard Dylan.
"Wait, could you hear all of that...?"
"I'm seated here, am I not?" I heard him chuckle as he adjusted his glasses which rested on the bridge of his nose. "Damn, you've got such a hold on her, she didn't even say hi to me."
"Did you want her to say hi to you?" I turned to him and asked in a low voice because the hall was quiet now as the lecturer set out some things on the desk near the projector.
"What do you mean by that?" His reply was a sharp one.
"You just said she didn't say hi to...."
"Yeah, she usually greets everyone, that's why I said what I said."
"Okay, chill." I laughed when he started to defend his reason.
"We are going to resume from where we left off last time...." The lecturer started but someone walked in.
It wasn't someone, it was Ann.
She walked past where I sat and went on to the back. I turned my neck to follow her and I saw her sit next to her roommate. After sitting and taking out her writing materials, she looked up from her purse and met my staring eyes.
An unusual smile took over her lips, she rolled her eyes and took out her phone, and soon I heard my phone ding with a notification; it was her.
"Stop staring at me like that!" I smiled while I read her text.
"How are u feeling now?" I asked over the text.
"Better"
"Obviously, that's y I'm here today."
"Focus on the professor and not me, will you?"
"I'll try." I typed back, happy that she was okay.
