You're the Sovereign of a war loving nation, and you dedicate each conquest to the God of War that is your nation's Chosen Deity. One day, a motherly-looking woman storms up to the throne, guards unab

Sitting on the top of my throne, I cheered with my soldiers and generals. I stared at our deity, the gracious one who we do it for. Raising my right arm, I did the slit throat gesture and then banged my chest. "For Ishtar." Everyone followed suit, repeating the chant I did. Grasping my hands together, I was about to speak before heading scuffling outside. Guards were shouting to halt and stop before suddenly being silenced. The throne room was kicked open to see a teary-eyed woman, the guards aimed their bows and shot. They broke on contact and the lady screeched before charging at me.

Her voice boomed in righteous fury and disappointment, "Stop this nonsense! You don't have to do this at all! There's no point. I never asked you to do this!" She stared at me with pure hatred in her eyes as tears rolled down her face.

"And who do you think you are? Telling me, of all people, what to do?" I growled out with a huff.

"The deity you won't shut up about! Stop killing in my name! There are way better deities to worship, how come you can't be basic and do Ares?" She snapped out, feeling slight shivers crawl down her back at that comment.

"You can't be Ishtar?" My voice cracked slightly, losing the confidence it had before. I did the lower your weapons gestures to my guards and generals.

Ishtar sarcastically threw out her arms to her side. "The one and only!" she huffed.

"Prove it then! Show your godly powers then." I snapped back at her doing air quotes around godly powers.

She raised her eyebrow and snarled at me. I felt a genuine sense of fear. It felt like I was shrinking in on myself. There was no way I was looking at a god, it felt like I was staring down at death itself. Ishtar wasn't done proving her point and she tilted her body and turned to the left and pointed at two random soldiers. "Fight!" It was a booming voice, it sounded like a wolf telling someone what to do.

The two soldiers glared at each other before rushing and raising their swords in the air. There was another booming voice commanding them to stop. The soldiers slid to a halt, their weapons clattering on the ground as they breathed in and out. The woman looked back at me in a way saying is that enough proof for you.

"Stop killing in my damn name or do it in somebody else's. I'm so sick of hearing your guy's voices in my head." She snapped.

"And if we don't?" I sassed a little.

Her eyes turned a deep crimson shade of red, "I'll show you what true war is then elect someone who can listen." She spoke calmly, eerily so.

I simply nodded. "Fine, whatever. We will find someone better." I snapped, trying to keep my pride intact.

Ishtar rolled her eyes before walking out or stomping out? The guards stepped out of the way as she went past, slamming the door behind her with full force. Causing spider web cracks to go up the wall.
