Chapter 8

"Jii-san one Tonkotsu Ramen, please."

"Coming right up!"

I sat down on the chair in front of a traditional ramen stand near the highway. A minute later, the owner placed a bowl of ramen in front of me. I can feel my Faerie Feast perk screaming at me, saying that this food is not good enough.

Sometimes it is good to eat something that you did not cook.

However, I decided to ignore it and enjoy the food. The ramen itself is not bad. The noodles are bouncy and have a good chew. It also grabs the broth really well. The broth is good, but it is too salty for my taste and makes the taste of the pork deluded by the saltiness.

After eating the food, I pay the owner and walk away. There is another reason why I decided to visit all the food stalls near my house. I want to search for inspiration for the food I need to cook tomorrow morning.

Hmmm… Should I cook some ramen? There should be enough ingredients in the refrigerator to make a simple Tonkatsu Ramen. Yeah, let's do that.

I stop dead on my track when my senses flaring at me. I can feel an evil creature just born/appearing/summoned in this city. Gabriel said that once I become a YAHWEH patron, I will be given a passive ability to sense evil creatures.

No. The Devil is not an evil creature.

It was more of your alignment chart if we go by the DnD rule. Lawful Evil will alert me with a soft hum. Neutral Evil will alert me like someone knocking at my door. Chaotic Evil will be like a baby screaming in the twelve-hour plane ride.

And this is the later kind of alert.

Gabriel said that I did not have an obligation to defeat that creature, but my patron will be pleased with my effort in defeating that creature and maybe reward me for it.

Without hesitation, I ran toward the location of this creature. I did not hope for a reward for defeating this creature, no. I want to make sure this creature did not get into a populated area and kill the innocent.

~Fifteen minutes later~

I'm right now not too far away from a massive warehouse in the dock. I can see a man and a woman talking with each other in front of the dock. I can feel whatever alerting me is in the man's hand. It was the orb.

They continue to talk for a few seconds before suddenly, more than thirty magic circles appear above the young woman. Seeing the magic circle, the man creates his own magic circle and fires the spell with his own spell.

For now, I need to lay low. My target is the orb on the man's hand.

Ace and I continue to exchange spells for more than five minutes, and to my surprise, he can keep up with me. The chief said that Ace is a third rank magician out of five ranks. He should not be able to keep up with a first-rank magician like me.

I grit my teeth when I hear his sick laugh. It looks like I did not have any choice. I will take the blame from the Gremory family for this operation.

After I said that, Yuki appeared next to me. Yuki is a massive three-meter tall disfigured doll made of ice that takes the form of a woman in a dress. When Yuki appears, the area begins to freeze, and I see a little of the water on the ocean in front of me start to freeze as well.

This is the reason why I hesitate to summon Yuki. She has special ice. It cannot be easily melted by other means and can only be easily melted by herself.

"Kekekeke, There it is! The Ice Doll! The Absolute Demise! Kekekeke!"

Ace raises his left, holding the obs, and I can see it glow. A second later, a massive magic circle appears under Ace's feet and continues to grow. I jump away from it as it continues to grow. After the diameter reaches twenty-seven meters in length, it stops growing.

Before I could say anything, Ace already got devoured by his own magic circle, and I can see his blood cover all the magic circles. I order Yuki to destroy the magic circle, but to my surprise, her ice is not effective against the magic circle.

A few seconds later, a creature appeared from the magic circle. This creature is like a combination of Cerberus and manticore. It has three dog heads on the front with the body of a lion, a tail of a scorpion, and a wing of a bat.

What makes me shudder is the energy released by this creature. It releases foul energy that I have never encountered before.

"Yuki, attack!"

With my command, Yukai began to create a snowstorm around the creature.

*ROAR*

To my surprise, the snowstorm created by Yuki is gone by that roar alone. I shake my head a little before I look up and see the creature doing something. I widened my eyes for a second before saying.

"Yuki!"

Yuki immediately created a massively thick and dense Ice wall between me and the creature. I created a barrier behind Yuki's wall and also enchanted her wall with my magic.

And it was just in time as the second after I finished my spell, I heard a disturbing noise coming from the creature.

I did not know what it meant because an explosion happened behind the wall after I heard that noise. I can feel that Yuki struggles to block that attack, and I can hear the wall begin to crack.

After a few seconds, Yuki put down the wall and saw the creature charging toward me. However, it froze up in the air before it could reach me, courtesy to Yuki freezing it up.

Seeing my opportunity, I create seventy magic circles around it and am ready to fire my spell. Yuki also creates a massive spike of ice around the creature. When the creature broke free from the ice, I fired my spell at it—the same with Yuki releasing all the ice spikes to the monster.

After a few seconds, the dust finally went away, and I can see the Cerberus hybrid in front of me did not have any serious injury. I can see some injury, but it was not much.

I need to know the weakness of this creature. It has immunity to the ice by the look of it—next, fire.

I order Yuki to distract the Cerberus hybrid while I attack it with my spell. Yuki creates a golem made of ice as my guardian before she begins to attack Cerberus. While preparing the spell I needed, I can see Yuku create wave after wave of Ice attack to hold the Cerberus.

Whenever it tries to attack me, Yuki will create a pillar of ice that will freeze the Cerberus up and then throw it away. However, just like before, it escapes from its ice cage after a few seconds. No matter how thick Yuki makes the cage.

"Yuki, make sure it is not dodging!"

After I said that, a massive pillar appeared from the ground and locked the creature in the air. Its legs and head are locked by a thick and dense pillar made of ice. I know that it will not last long, but it should be enough.

I point my staff at the Cerberus and imprison the creature with a sphere made of a magic circle. A second later, I activate my spell, and I see the Cerberus get cooked inside the ball. The miniature sun I cast is a spell imprisoning the target and burning them alive.

The spell is hot enough to melt a diamond.

Sadly, it consumes much of my mana. I can hold this spell for at max four hours, but I did not know if this wannabe Cerberus weakness is a fire or not. I release the spell and frown. It looks like the fire is not the answer.

It looks like this creature is immune to an element attack. What about special elements? I did not know any spells with demonic nature, but I know a few spells with holy nature. I order Yuki to hold the creature once again. This time I use the holy spell.

A few seconds later, a magic circle appeared above the frozen solid wannabe Cerberus. The golden magic circle spins on top of the Cerberus, and when Yuki releases it from its prison, a pillar of light descends from the magic circle.

"Holy type spell, huh?"

While I can see some damage to the creature's body, I know it was not enough to kill it. This will be a long battle. I did not know any other spell that was stronger than the last one. Tch. This will take time.

However, before I could cast another spell, I heard a loud chant.

"O' Lord of the Holy who bestows all of his power, sanctity, and wisdom to me. Use my body as your medium to punish the wicked. Use my soul as the medium to see if my action is right. Holy Smite!"
