44 I Bite Him

Emilia’s pov

"What, what?" I stared wide-eyed at Klaus by the window.

I knew my panic was evident because I even took a step back under Klaus's oppressive gaze.

"I don't want to repeat myself, Emilia," Klaus's gaze was cold, as if invisible ropes were tying me down.

I looked at Klaus's face and realized he wasn't joking earlier. The painful memories flooded my mind again, but I knew there was no escape.

"Master, I... I..." I didn't know what to say. I regretted, but now I could only slowly approach him under Klaus's intimidating gaze.

The morning light outside the glass window didn't bring me any warmth; instead, my steps felt heavy. I wished I could find a place to hide and escape from all of this.

"What are you hiding from?" Klaus's voice echoed in my ear. He lifted my chin, pulled me into his embrace, forcing me to meet his gaze.
