Chapter - 17

It had been a week since I visited Sam . After that , our exams had started and everything else was not really important really . As we had exams going on everyone was busy in their own worlds . Studying and preparing notes - it was all a big bundle of mess .

Today will be our last exam . YAY . FINALLY .

I was on my seat in the middle of the classroom writing down answers in the sheet of paper that was in front of me . I wrote what I knew and I gave my best . I had to . It was biology and the content of this subject - wow - too much . Why - I mean - why ? Is studying about onions really necessary ? Sigh .

Brune and Lisa were somewhere in the back in the same class as me while Olly and Gabriel were in another and Sam was alone in another classroom and so was Amelia . We were all busy in our own worlds and we had barely even spoken to each other properly . This exam was tearing us apart . Our friendship - our love for each other - yeah - I had nothing better to do . Except me and Olly - we basically live together - next to each other - but get my point .

It was the last fifteen minutes now and I was writing all I could . UGH . My hands were already in pain . I just had a few questions left . Just some few and this would be over . You can do it Ellie . I believe in you .

" Time's up " said the invigilator after exactly 15 minutes and started collecting our papers . I submitted my papers , collected my belongings and headed outside .

" Hey . " greeted Gabriel and Olly when they saw me . " Hi "

" How was it ? " I asked . " I'll pass, " said Gabriel . " Me too . " I said and started doing a little dance . 'Girls' muttered Gabriel laughing .

" Hey " came Brune and Lisa . " I'm gonna pass . " sang Brune .

" What about you ? " asked Gabriel to Lisa . " I’M PASS . " yelled Lisa making us laugh .

" Yo . " came Sam . " I'll pass . " He raised his hand in victory making us all laugh .

" I AM GONNA PASS . ME - SAM JADE IS PASSING . " yelled Sam, making almost half the population of the school to glare at him .

" Finally these exams are over - SCHOOL IS OVER - for now . " he yelled . " Shh " Lisa hit him as she laughed . " Stop ."

" Hii " greeted Amelia as she saw us . " I'm passing . I'm passing . I am passing ." She danced a little, making all of us smile . " We all are passing . " I sang and joined Amelia, making her laugh . 'Girls girls girls' muttered Gabriel again making us laugh again .

" Come on - let's go outside . "

We all had been sitting outside for like an hour chatting .

" It was Sam who slipped and fell first and then he pulled me . " Olly laughed . " That was a brutally painful day . " laughed Sam . They were busy telling everybody about the day when they fell off the stairs on their first day at like the seventh or sixth grade .

Today was a good day . The weather was good too . It was so chilly yet the sun was still out . I still don't understand - why - why him ? I still cant wrap my head around everything that happened that day .

" Who's going with who ? " asked Brune as we were talking about Prom now .

" No clue, " said Lisa with a sigh .

" What do you mean no clue ? You're going with me . That's fixed . " said Gabriel wrapping his arms around Lisa making her giggle .

" Alright, love birds . " Brune rolled her eyes .

" Amelia ? " Lisa called out . " Who are you going with ? "

" Oh uh - " stuttered Amelia blushing a deep red . We all just started teasing her .

" Oooo - who is it ? " I asked .

" Never mind that . I don't know if he - " she looked at Olly . OH MY GOD . Olly was blushing too .

" Oh come on - I'm sure he would like to go . " I teased Olly .

" Oh just ask him already, " said Brune .

" No uh - "

" Amelia - would you like to go to prom with me ? " asked Olly out of nowhere . He was all flustered and shy and let me tell you - Olly is not the shy and flustered type of guy . Everyone of us were just giggling and smiling .

" Um - oh . Amelia stuttered and quickly got up and went inside the building . Olly followed too . We all just laughed . Amelia was too flustered to answer .

" Anyway - who are you going with ? " asked Lisa turning towards Brune .

" I don't know . I'm sure I'll find someone till prom . There's still a week left , isn't there ? " Brune laughed .

" You will . " assured Lisa .

" What about you ? " asked Brune, referring to Sam .

" Ya - no . No one . " said Sam . " What - why ? "

" Just - I don't know . "

" Oh come on Sam - just ask her already, " said Gabriel .

" Nope . " Gabriel just rolled his eyes . " You're such a baby . "

" Who is it ? " asked Lisa . " You know who . " said Gabriel as a matter of fact .

" Fine - Ell - since you're going alone and I am too - wanna go together ? " asked Sam casually .

" Sure, " I smiled .

" And now you both tell each other that you like - " Gabriel stopped .

" Ellie - Ell - " I turned around to see Olly heading towards me . He looked so worried . I stood up quickly .

" What is it ? " I asked with worry . Everyone else stood up too .

" Where's your phone ? " asked Olly .

" I don't know . It's in my locker . Why ? "

" It's for you, " said Olly, giving me his phone . He then came beside me and patted my back in a soothing manner making me more confused as to what was going on .

" Hello ? " I asked as I pressed the phone in my ear .

" What - no . "

" Where - I'm coming . "

" No no no no . "

" I'll be there soon . "

" Dad - please - nooo . "

" I'm in school right now . "

" Olly is here too - "

I just turned around - hugged Olly and let my tears out . He was patting my back to comfort me .

" Olly - why - I -"

" Hey hey - it's ok . I'm here . " he whispered .
