Seven Days Peacefully

Maddie took a deep breath, trying to be patient and calm before committing more mistakes. Maddie explained nicely, "I can't possibly think like that. Cas, I'm sorry if I offended you."

Castelia and Maddie are good friends and have lived together for a long time. On the one hand, Maddie doesn't understand why it's so hard for Castelia to let her anger down and solve problems without making them worse. Castelia didn't, she acted like Maddie's mistake was unforgivable.

"I need some time alone," Castelia said and she just walked away. Moving away from Maddie's sight without the slightest intention of turning back, let alone turning around, she just walked away leaving Maddie alone on the side of the road.

If Castelia wanted to be alone, Maddie would leave her as she wished, even though it was unpleasant. Maddie tries to accept her mistake but damn it, she has to run now.

"Where are you going, Maddie?!" The voice belonged to Melody, she was angry to think Maddie was trying to run away without completing their agreement.

No, Maddie didn't want to run. Instead, she wanted to go to Melody until Melody misunderstood and asked some of her bodyguards who had appeared out of nowhere to arrest Maddie.

Maddie thought, 'What can I give Melody anyway?' Their task had failed, returning to Melody would be nothing but misfortune. Therefore, Maddie decided to run away.

"Chase her!" Melody's voice was shrill, mad that Maddie was so daring to run away from her.

"Bastard!!!" Maddie screamed in annoyance, convinced she should have left after Castelia instead of pensive because now she had to put all her strength into running fast so as not to get caught.

Melody had just stomped her foot, panicking when she realized that the short hour hand was about to hit two o'clock which meant she was running out of time. "Damn, I shouldn't have believed them."

Now, what should Melody do? She had nothing to win over the entire inheritance to be passed to her husband. "Damn, damn, damn!" The woman groaned as she tapped her forehead.

While Melody is forced to go to where the meeting is being held, Maddie ends up cornered at the end of the alley with no way out. The woman panicked, praying and pleading that she would not be caught again.

At the same time and in a different place, Castelia had just entered her bedroom. The woman took off her pink coat and put it on the bed. Castelia reached out for the memory card that would make it difficult for both of them after Melody finished her business before sitting on the edge of the bed.

Castelia didn't even think, 'I shouldn't have done this.' She wasn't thinking about herself but Joshua, continuing to wish the guy well. Castelia smiled wryly before opening the third drawer in the small dresser beside the bed. She took out a small gift box and put the memory card there.

****

It's six in the afternoon but where's Maddie? Castelia came out of the room to check, but the house was deserted and Maddie wasn't in it. Castelia did say she wanted to be left alone but that didn't mean Maddie couldn't go home.

"Where's Maddie?" mumbled Castelia, she was worried as she looked at the clock on the television. Seeing that Melody was the one they were messing with made Castelia even more worried, starting to suspect that maybe Maddie hadn't come home and had something to do with her.

Luckily, Castelia's guess was wrong. Maddie had just returned but looked tired and hobbled into the front yard area. "Are you all right, Madd?" Castelia spontaneously asked.

Maddie didn't answer right away, she looked at Castelia and dragged her left foot to stand in front of her before nodding her head. Maddie took a deep breath, let Castelia help her into the house and sat on the sofa in the living room. They sat side by side before looking at each other.

"I almost got caught by Melody's men," said Maddie, she breathed a sigh of relief, remembering that she managed to escape despite arriving home with pain in her leg. "I managed to escape but accidentally hurt my leg," she added.

"You fought them?" Castelia guessed and the nod Maddie gave was the answer that her guess didn't go wrong.

Castelia only knew that being together for a while made them understand each other. Maddie has martial arts talent, but unfortunately, she's not cut out for it because Maddie always ends up hurting herself every time she gets into a fight.

Somehow, it kept going until Maddie decided never to fight again. Unfortunately, that promise had to be broken in order to escape. "I'm fine but this seems pretty bad," Maddie said.

Castelia turned, following Maddie's eyes to look at her badly bruised ankle. "I'm sorry," Castelia said apologetically. "I shouldn't have left you alone."

"No," Maddie retorted quickly, she was the one who felt guilty and thought this happened because of her. That's why she didn't want Castelia to feel guilty. "If I had been more careful, we wouldn't have experienced anything like this."

Remembering it made Maddie feel tired, the woman came closer to hug her friend. Maddie rested her face on Castelia's shoulder before saying, "We'd better run away for a while. I don't want anything to do with Melody."

Maddie's weak voice made Castelia feel even more guilty but she didn't know what to say. Castelia didn't want to discuss what she had done or what had happened, so what she would focus on was escaping as Maddie suggested. "But how?" Castella asked. "We have no money."

"Ah, dammit …." That's right, Maddie's head was about to explode when she remembered that she had spent the money in their account. So, how do they escape? Remind Maddie that Melody is a wealthy person, she is more than capable of targeting them like chickens in the market.

"Don't worry," Castelia said, gently rubbing Maddie's back. "We just need to be more careful until Melody forgets about us."

It was a plan judged stupid with a million hopes but somehow, Castelia and Maddie made it through the seven days peacefully as if Melody had forgotten about them. So fast? How could that be? Melody hates Maddie to death for failing and she doesn't even try to call or threaten or anything like that.

"This is weird," Maddie mumbled, unable to guess anything else. I mean, Maddie was happy that Melody wasn't after them but how could she just let them go as if there were no problems between them?

"Melody can't just leave us alone after we've taken her money and gotten nothing for her," Maddie said and Castelia had to agree.

"I'm not sure," Castelia replied. They both saw Melody plastered on the TV screen, the woman was healthy. So, she couldn't remain silent without retaliating. "It's too weird to call us lucky."
