I pat Ashlyn to sleep and once she fell asleep, I went to meet my Mom in the living room.

She was sitting on the couch "watching TV" I sat beside her. She didn't notice me or was trying to avoid me. I guess she was angry over me hurting Ashlyn.

I sighed and asked her, "Mom, what are you watching?"

The way she jolted I understood, she didn't notice me.

She stared at me for a while and said, "See, its a cooking show on food network"

She paused and again continued speaking hesitantly, "Son, what happened in there?"

"I don't feel like saying anything mom, I just want to live a simple life, I want to change." I said running my fingers through my hair. I was a bit upset and frustrated for no reason.

She looked at me and narrowed her eyes and asked, "Kendrick, what do you mean?"

I sighed and said "Mom, am not sure I ever want to get married, i want to be alone, I don't want to ever be in a relationship with anyone."
