Jason returned to the Meta Estate in the early morning.

At that time, the Meta Estate was shrouded in silence. Only the sound of the night wind blew loudly, while many trees were already bare.

It seemed lonely and desolate.

The car quietly drove into the courtyard, and the door opened with a gentle sound. Jason stepped out of the car gracefully.

He stood in front of the door, looking towards Crystal's room. It was pitch black inside, without any trace of light.

Upon entering the house, Jason headed upstairs to Crystal's room. He opened the door, and switched on the lights, only to find the room empty, devoid of any human presence.

She wasn't there.

She left.

Jason stayed in her room for a long, long time until the next morning.

Hayley was the one who saw him first and exclaimed in surprise, "Mr. Edwards, you're home?"

Jason hummed in response.
