Chapter 8: That Woman is a Demon

"Oh great. Why now?" Sagitar muttered.

Assessing the situation, it was clear that Celeste's hostile response spurred from his bonding with a vampire. Her sudden appearance was ruining the perfect night that he was having with Alma. Sagitar was tense, yet he tried to keep calm.

"Who is she?" Alma questioned.

She took one step away from Sagitar, towards Celeste.

Sensing the tension that was building, Sagitar was under the pressure to salvage the situation.

"She's a friend of mine," he replied.

"And a very attractive friend too," Alma complained.

She looked at Celeste carefully. Her body was a depiction of magnificence. She has a perfect shaped bust that looked larger than her own slightly smaller chest in comparison. What Alma found even more overwhelming in her presence was her gorgeous face, it exhilarated her. And with this heat in bound, she found herself attracted to the Celestial unknown.

Knowing the abnormality of such feats that are beyond natural purity, Alma commented. "And one thing is for sure, I trust my senses; she isn't human."

More silence took hold of the scenario, the events of possible conflict was yet to unfold. Alma wondered what Celeste was wearing across her right eye. It appeared to be some sort of scanning device.

"Because no human could wear such an Item that's clearly tied with alchemy" Celeste examined.

The friction in the air started to intensify. It was obvious to Sagitar that Celeste had realized what Alma was—a vampire. And not intimidated by her presence, Alma was ready for a fight. Without the help of a sage, she could feel the hostility that was radiating from Celeste. Sagitar had to find a quick way to step up; a quick way to get between them before there was a serious fight involving two supernaturals.

Sagitar wondered to himself, What a sight that could be? He quickly disposed such a silly thought and immediately ran in front of his date spreading both hands wide apart, facing Celeste in opposition.

"Celeste, listen Alma is cool," says Sagitar.

But he is immediately interrupted hearing the shouting, "That woman is a Demon!"

"She's not a Demon; she's a vampire," Sagitar argued.

"It's the same thing and I think deep down you know," claimed a frustrated Celeste. "Step back Sagitar, I won't ask again," she warned.

"No Celeste," Sagitar replied with a daring frown. "You need to really calm down," he added.

Then he relaxed himself and began to approach the celestial. With both his hands down and no hostility shown, he hoped that she would back off, that she would trust his judgment.

"I said step back!" Celeste shouted again.

As she yelled, she projected an invisible energy wave at Sagitar's gut, unleashed from her head with her mind. The wave hit Sagitar directly and he was pushed aside by the force. He then fell onto the ground one foot away from Alma.

It was apparent to Sagitar that stopping Celeste, at this point was out of his hands physically.

"Look I don't know who you are but you're ruining my date," Alma gawked.

She was shocked at what was witnessed but couldn't detect any blood. For her, whatever the Celestial did didn't wound Sagitar internally, he wasn't bleeding. Though, Alma was still annoyed that another entity of the paranormal would do that to him. She walked over to Celeste and stood directly in her front, confident of her abilities.

Both of them stared at each other for a moment and then suddenly, Alma opened her mouth and sprouted out her fangs for intimidation and to amplify her strength.

"So you've revealed your true form, Demon!" Celeste mocked her.

"Who are you? You're not an exorcist, are you?" Alma teased. "Because the last exorcist to come my way face to face like this played with fire and got burnt. You should know exorcisms don't work on vamps," she claimed.

"I'm well aware of that and I am not an exorcist," replied Celeste. "I am higher than you can imagine," she claimed.

To buttress her claims, she released a surge of energy that sent a strong wind blowing past Alma's face, brushing her hair in the process.

Meanwhile, Sagitar had been held down, unable to get off the ground, pressed on by a heavy force of gravity. There was nothing he could do to stop the two from fighting. He had to helplessly watch the situation unravel and degenerate into what was most likely going to end it—a fatal confrontation.

"I don't know what you are but I can't have just anyone knowing what I am. And you are a threat to that," Alma explained not letting her guard down.

"Oh! I am a threat," Celeste assured her. "But you're not a threat to me at all," Celeste confidently claimed.

"I am a vampire physically capable of ending your life," Alma retorted.

"Puny Kinetic Battle Power of just under 3000 is no match for the likes of I," said Celeste, seething. She tapped the scanner by her right eye. "You see, in my current state I have a Kinetic Battle Power of over 6000, more than enough to wipe the floor with you. Any last words?" Celeste boasted.

"No!" Thud! The sound of Alma's heavy straight jab was heard by Sagitar who was surprised down on the floor behind her. With her right hand, she had punched Celeste in the jaw but what happened had left her stunned. Such a punch would have instantly destroyed the head of a human; however, the force of the punch barely jerked Celeste's head backwards.

"Is that really all you have?" Celeste laughed.

Her over confidence was like a boasting at the pointless attack.

"Impossible," Alma murmured. She took another shot, unleashing a devastating blow to Celeste's stomach, all to no avail. Alma could not believe what was happening. In desperation, she decided to attack Celeste relentlessly, punching her, switching constantly from head to stomach, high blow to low blow. However, Celeste still remained unaffected by Alma's rapid assault. Alma then stopped for a split second. Deciding to strategize, she changed her posture and shaped her right hand like a sword which she wanted to use to attempt a lethal chop to Celeste's neck. Seeing the threat of such a strike, Celeste used her left hand to block the assault then grappled Alma after.

"So you're not invincible after all," gasped Alma.

Once one of Alma's hands were free, she pulled back preparing a daggering fist to strike and pierce Celeste's neck. Before the vampire could even get half way to land her attack, Celeste used her left hand to give Alma a fast uppercut to the stomach. The impact was critical. Immediately, Alma falls to the ground in agony. As she tried to get back up, she struggled to maintain herself, her body left in a spasm from the blow she received.

"You low life Demon scoundrel!" Celeste shouted.

She moves in on a knocked down Alma. Some breath had finally been recovered from the impact dealt. Then the Celestial steps on her left hand to apply a struggle and some pain as punishment.

"You would dare to launch such a blow on me! I fell from the heavens and am now unfortunately present among your presence. One who bares that which is filth in the eyes of the divine. Well fate was cruel to me but I'll make it cruel for you as it is what you deserve!" she complained.

Her complains was said like a public showing, as if she would have audience with the beyond, the paranormal and possibly entities like herself, those of watcher status. Celeste bent down to grab Alma by the neck with her right hand. She pounds the vampire's head repetitively bruising her face bloody with heavy jabs from her left fist. The corner of the vampires forehead, her nose and her lips are clobbered consecutively in a brutal manner. The assault reverted her fang like teeth back into her inner jaw.

"No, this is too much…" Sagitar mused.

He was afraid of the final outcome of their encounter. He didn't want to see anyone he cared about hurt. Celeste was about to completely lose her grace after her fall, and just when he'd started to get himself in the romantic entanglement he'd always wanted, the woman he had opened his heart to was a vampire. But more so, it looked like death was round the corner for her carnation.

As Alma gets dazzled, concussed from the repetitive blows, Celeste lifts her up higher. Alma began to gasp as Celeste held her up above ground slowly tightening her grasp with every second. Sagitar, who was eventually able to fight the hold of Celeste's power, struggled to his feet while Alma was being choked. He felt incredibly heavy as if gravity was pushing down on his entire body. Sagitar approached slowly forcing his way to Alma with all of his might.

"Why do I feel so heavy?" Sagitar wondered.

"Because I can't have you interfere," Celeste yelled.

She looked at Sagitar as he slowly made his way to the two in conflict.

The young awakened man dragged himself beside them but did not attempt to stop Celeste. From what he had seen, he figured that trying to physically stop her was a stupid action to take—she could tear anyone apart. Instead, he decided to speak to her, in hopes he could calm the situation.

"Put her down Celeste; you're killing her!" Sagitar shouted.

"Sagitar you can't trust her. She's a Demon. And you should know more so, you have no authority over me," Celeste argued.

"I am aware of what she is and I don't care either," Sagitar remarked.

"Don't tell me you've actually started to develop feelings for this…this abomin-----," Celeste responded.

"Just let go of her," interrupts Sagitar.

"I can't believe you. You're so clueless Sagitar; even after all the things I told you about the heavens and my fall. Surely if you know you are the chosen one then you should realize that Demons would be after you attempting to gain the power of the heavens," Celeste explained.

"You never told me that I am the chosen one. And what's this nonsense about gaining the power of the heavens. How would they get that through me?" asked Sagitar.

"What are you talking about?" Alma questioned.

In the struggle, she wheezed and gasped for air.

"Be quiet!" Celeste snapped at Alma and turned towards Sagitar. "The point is she is just using you. I'm sure of it. If I am correct, you met her shortly before I prevented your death which is rather ironic don't you think?" she mentioned.

"How odd! I met her on the night I thought I died," says Sagitar.

He tried to garner how it all came together. It was unexpected, their encounter, and it happened at random. Wondering and trying to reason out the situation of their meeting, Sagitar couldn't pin point any patterns prior or any signs it was pre-ordained. The only odd thing he found about the night was the two thugs who arrived at the bar, the hoodlums that shot him point blank.

"It's always the same formula with Demons I tell you. And Vampires, although they are a bizarre type of class among them, they are just the same. People meet them and suddenly their life is ruined or worse they die on the same day they have met them due to strange or unpredictable circumstances," Celeste claimed.

"I would never harm you Sagitar, I promise you," Alma gasped, trying to talk through Celeste's tightly clenched grip.

"Seems I must have loosened my grip on you," Celeste taunted Alma.

Her neck began to get squeezed even tighter than before. At first Sagitar was convinced Celeste had lost her mind. But now he was unsure. The suspicious timing of his shooting was clearly coordinated. And that made him wonder about the gasping vampire before him. Logic reason started to turn into rationalization. But time was running thin, if he did not act now, it could be too late for his romantic interest.

"Let…go…please…I…don't…want… to…die," Alma gasped.

The veins on Alma's neck began to rapidly pulsate. It looked like her circulatory system could rupture at any time bursting blood out of her inner.

"Oh my God, you're going to kill her. If you squeeze any tighter her neck will break! And burst!" Sagitar screeched.

"What were your intentions with Sagitar?" Celeste shouted. "Where is your brethren?" she shouted again.

"I…don't know…what you're talking…about," Alma gasped.

"Who else seeks Sagitar? Answer me!" shouted Celeste.

"Celeste, she doesn't seem to know anything. Don't kill her please," Sagitar pleads.

"I have to put her out of her misery, it's the only way," Celeste replies.

"Wait!" Sagitar exclaims. "You said that she knows something right, then it's vital we get that information if she does," he spoke softly like he was cooperating.

The truth of the matter is that he attempted to buy Alma some time.

"Sagitar, I know what you're thinking but regardless you have a point," Celeste sighed.

She stopped squeezing Alma's neck, leaving her to drop freely to the ground, falling onto her knees. Then, Celeste let out a breath of warm air.

Alma gasped for air, coughing violently. She found it hard to retain herself after going through the constant struggle to cling onto life. She looked up at Celeste who smiled at her. It was odd because Sagitar had never seen her make a smile before, even the one made was pretentious in nature. The Celestial bent down and unexpectedly Sagitar would witness a crucial blow, Alma is knocked out, elbowed in the head, just by her temple, the impact forcing her to lose consciousness instantly.
