Isabel Smith had almost forgotten about the matter, and Percy Stanton suddenly brought it up. She couldn't help but feel a little worried. Percy seemed to see through her thoughts and continued in a light tone, "I should have waited for you to wake up. The swelling would have gone down by then."
As he spoke, Percy took the slightly cold egg off Isabel's face and replaced it with a new one.
The egg was soft and the pressure was just right. Isabel felt extremely comfortable and couldn't help closing her eyes again.
Percy stared at the five red finger marks on her face, feeling increasingly suffocated in his chest.
About half an hour passed before Percy finally stopped his actions.
Isabel did not fall asleep. With her eyes closed, she could hear Percy walking out of the bedroom and returning shortly after. The man didn't undress, he just lifted the quilt and gently laid on the bed. Then she fell into his arms.
