Can You Trust Me?

"Urgghhh…" Francis suddenly fell on his knees and vomiting blood. His face turned really pale and he look so weak. I, who had just entered his office, hurriedly took a handkerchief and approached him. "What happened? This is not your first time vomiting blood!" I asked, pretending to panic. I knew the reason why he was in this state, it was because I poisoned him. "Cough… cough…" he coughed as he was vomiting blood. "I'm fine. As you said this is not my first time vomiting blood so I can handle it." He said after he stopped vomiting blood. "But I guess you have to stop pretending." He paused and moved his body closer to me. "Charlize," he whispered right to my ears. He still looked so weak due to the poison but he seemed like already used to it. "I know it is you who make me in this state." ------------- Hi everyone!!!  Thank you for supporting me this far, and sorry for not continuing this work. The Hidden Past (Noah POV)

I just finished practicing with his highness and we were on our way back when a lady approached us. She was the eldest daughter of the Whitley family, Lydia Whitley. She showed us a big robe with a hood and a fabric saying that those things were Olivia's items.

When his highness checked those things, both of us were shocked. From how the robe and fabric looks, I could say that they were Miss Charlize's. Even his highness had the same thought as mine. So, Lady Olivia Whitley was the owner of that robe and fabric, it means that Miss Charlize was Lady Olivia.

No, that couldn't be right. How could Miss Charlize and Lady Olivia were the same person. His highness had been suspicious about this before, but we decided to let it go, at first. But, that time, we faced the same question; were they the same person?

For me, there was no way it was possible. Miss Charlize was a kind person who saved me before and helped his highness a lot. I admit that Lady Olivia helped his highness, but still, she was the daughter of the Whitley family.

"Noah, can you believe that? AmI hearing it right?" His highness' voice pulled me back to reality.

"No, your highness. I heard the same thing as you." I answered that, then I went back to my thoughts.

...…..

I was an abandoned child that no one wanted to take care of me. Everyone despised me, kicking me away, telling me that I was disgusting. I was used to a life where no one wanted me.

Until one day, a good person picked me up with some other helpless kids like me to his place. He was Baron Collin. He fed me, dressed me, and gave me a place to live. He was like a God to me. Since that time, I decided to live to repay his kindness.

One year after that, every kid that was helped by Baron started to learn swordsmanship. We were trained so hard by one of the Baron's men. I learned so hard as my gratitude toward Baron Collin.

After two years practicing swordsmanship, Baron Collin acknowledged me. "You have a good talent." That was what he said to me. I was proud of myself that I could make the baron happy. I practiced harder and harder.

At one time, the baron called for me. "You're the best kid in swordsmanship. I want you to help me with your skill."

I was so happy when I heard his words, without knowing that it was a trap. My heart was beating so fast and I was full of energy, thinking that it was the time I could repay him.

"Yes, tell me what you want me to do." I answered with full of confidence.

The baron showed me a map of a forest. "A noblewoman will go to this forest at night to do a ritual. All you have to do is kill her quickly with a single slash, then run to this side, there will be my person to help you. You just have to follow him after that. Don't do anything besides that." He then explained all the routes that would be taken by that woman.

"I understand." I bowed to him.

"Good. I'm counting on you." He smiled and gave me his permission to leave.

Several days after that, on the decided day, I went to the forest that was told by the baron. There I saw a group of people walking to a shrine inside the forest. They consisted of the woman that I had to kill, a girl and four guards. I followed them from a hidden place.

When we arrived at the shrines, the woman started a ritual while the others were waiting. That was the perfect time for me to do my mission. I jumped toward the shrine and swung my sword, attacking the woman.

The girl and the guards were so shocked they couldn't stop me. "Catch him!" one of the guards shouted. Those guards ran toward me to catch me, while the girl was crying beside the woman's body.

I ran as fast as I could. I just need to run a little bit more to be at the place mentioned by the baron, where his person would wait for me. 'Just a little more, just a little more.' I closed my eyes, trying to get faster and faster.

"So, are you the kid mentioned by Baron Collin?" A man stood at the exact position that was told by the baron.

I nodded as I tried to catch up my breath. "Yes."

The man smirked, then raised a sword. "Then, this is your last day, kid." He was about to swing his sword toward me, but I managed to avoid it.

From his movement, I could say that he was no match with me. He was so big and strong while I was just a thirteen years old kid. So, it would be better for me to run away instead of facing him.

I was running without knowing where I should go. Baron Collin, he said his man would help me, but in reality, that man would kill me. Was that mean, Baron Collin abandoned me? In the end, I was abandoned by the one who saved me before. I was wondering if I had a reason to live?

"Ack…" I tripped and fell down. I didn't try to get up and continue running. I felt like I was nobody that no one wanted.

When I was desperate enough and waiting for someone to catch and kill me, a girl showed up in front of me. She wore a big robe with a hood and covered her face with a fabric. "Can you run? I will help to hide you, so please force yourself a little bit more."

The girl pulled my hands, forcing me to get up. Why did she care? What did she want from me? No, who is she to begin with?

"Who are you?" I asked her instead of following her instructions.

The girl sighed. Her face showed a hint of annoyance. "Do you want to die here or not? Just follow me for now if you want to live."

My intuition told me to follow her, so I did so. I followed her to a small rotten house. "Wait for me here, I will distract those guards." She left me alone.

I didn't know if my choice was right or not, but if I would die that time, I was ready for it. No one wanted me after all, what should I do if I survived this?

But, at the end, I felt like taking back what was said in my mind before. Waiting for the girl for a long time made me think about what I did before. About the woman that I killed. The feeling of guilt creeped all over me.

Several hours later, it was almost morning when the girl came to me. "You're safe for now. But, maybe people will search for you everywhere. There's a place I know that is good for you to hide. You can stay there until everything goes back to normal." The girl explained.

"Ummm, can I know who you are?" I asked her.

From her eyes, I could tell that she was smiling behind the fabric that covered her face. "I'm Charlize." She answered.

Since that day, I started to live and hide at the place that Charlize mentioned. And as Charlize mentioned before, there were people who searched for me everywhere.

Maybe the woman I killed was such an important person. That thought kept giving me a nightmare. It was getting stronger as I heard about the news that Baron Colin was killed. Would I be the next person?

Only Charlize words that put me at ease. "Don't worry. As long as you stay here well and don't catched to much attention then everything will be alright. Everyone who knows your face has died already, except me, so there are no witnesses." She said that every time she visited me.

Two years after that incident, no one searched for me. People were focused on other matters and forgot about the incident. I started to be more calm and forget the past too.

One day, Charlize took me to a bookstore. There was a boy around my age waiting for us. "Francis, he is Noah, and Noah this is Francis." She introduced us. "And he is the first prince, the rumored prince." She whispered.

Charlize asked me to be Francis' knight and I accepted it. She said that the palace was the safest place to hide because no one expected me to hide there. By time, we became close friends.
